This is another "wedding-anniversary" card I made with this new set in our Serendipity. This set can be used is so many different ways. I am a Chemo Card angel and my little guy and his wife have an anniversary coming up April 5, married 49 years so I thought this card would be so appropriate for them. I paperpieced the birds, used nestabilities label 1 image and layered with pop dot.A couple of tiny flowers, ribbon and done. Hope they enjoy their anniversary. Going to take DH to St. Louis today to a specialist, he was in the hospital locally for 2 days with a kidney stone and he has yet to pass it, one of the drawbacks of living in a smaller town is no specialists so I brought him home from the hospital last night (with plenty of pain meds on board) and we go to the doctor todasy at 1 pm. I have taken care of a lot of patients with kidney stones and I know they are very painful and even more so when it is your spouse. He doesn't make a real good patient and I "quit" being a nurse when it comes to family. Like what do I know!!!
We are having a Blog Hop over at Paperwings using this cute set from our new Serendipity magalog. These are 2 that I cam up with for this hop. I am still in a learning curve with copic markers but I did a little shading on my cupcake icing using the copics. Hope you enjoy looking at some cards made with this set. 1. Melisa 2. Laurie 3. The theme for this weeks tac-art-scan yahoo group was thank you cards. For this card I embossed the flowers on ivory with versamark and white embossing powder. I then used a sponge dauber (the kind that fits on your pointer finger) and used dye ink pad to pick up the color and color the flower, then cut out, pop dot the flowers on the paper. I used the new Graphic Blooms and Playful Parenthesis sets in our Serendipity magalog. Paper collection is from Genevieve made by TAC. You can use this technique with any open area stamp set that you can color in with ink, but this sets works perfect.
The bottom edge was slightly torn then rolled down to give a distressed look.
I ran across these pictures of my craft room taken when it was "clean" and ready to show. I think I was waiting for a class to come. When we bought this house 4 years ago I saw this room (which is 12 x 24) in the finished walkout basement and my DH saw the extra garage (workshop) and we said we will take the house without looking any further. Just kidding, we have 4 beautiful acres in the woods but less than a mile from the hub of our town. Our 3 cats and dog love it here with no fences to keep them in. As you can see I have one of my kitties Nikki sitting on my stool waiting to help me, hence the name of Glittered Paws for my blog. I can usually be found in my craft room working on swaps, projects, or teaching a class. I call it my "woman cave" as I have no windows but my dh put up very nice lighting for me and I hardly notice the fact that I have no natural light. If I want natural light I just walk out to the family room and look out our huge double picture window and observe all of natures beautiful wildlife and creations.
We have a stamp group called The Paper Dolls and meet monthly at our senior center. I received this card from one of my Paper Doll friends which I just had to post. She had fabric with the paperdolls on it, she ironed wonder under on the back side then cut each individual image out. I called her to thank her and she said mine was 1 of a kind and she wouldn't be sending the entire group the same card!! She did use the corner image from Want to Fly in our new Serendipity. The card brought back images of my childhood and cutting out all those paperdolls we used to be able to get.
This is a card for one of the girls I work with, her daughter was in a pretty bad car accident Thursday and is still in the ICU. Thought I would send this to her to let her know I was thinking of her. I have another friend whose daughter also had a car accident on Friday but she was not badly injured so off to make a card for her too. This set is one of my favs from the new Serendipity, she is just so darned cute and fun to color. I colored with Copic markers, still working on shading but I love to color.
Here is the 2nd of the wedding planners we made today. They are just a little different. My granddaughter Paige colored her bride and Laci left hers black/white. Colors are different but otherwise very similar.
Project for the Day - dear granddaughter and her roommate are on spring break from nursing school so they came and spent 2 days at Grandma's house - (what an honor for me). They are both engaged and were looking through Just Weddings and found a wedding planner that they loved. Off to Walmart FOR A 1" binder and sleeve protectors and down to the studio they went. On the front they used Growing Love bride and Bitty Blossoms on the front. They labeled each page and stamped asst. items depicting the occasion such as the service, music, flowers etc. In person they turned out really cute and they were both so proud of their books. But I am exhausted!!! I was having trouble posting both pics in one post so I will put the other next.
This is a flip/flop bowling book I made for all 5 team members of my DH's bowling team. Lot of work but he did all the cutting for me. I would love to see their faces when he gives them to each team member at the banquet. Would I make 5 more - probably not!! By the 4th one I was really getting tired of bowling!!!
Needed a quick card for a sister angel that just had oral surgery and thought this bunny might put a smile on her face. This bunny is from our new set Some Bunny and when I saw them I knew they had to go in my collection. I paper pieced her dress and the label is from the Bella Flor collection which has been de'd, it was a beautiful collection so it will be missed. Colored the bunny with copic markers (still in my learning curve). Did a little scor-pal border and card complete.
Today was a bitterly windy day in MO. so I stayed in my "woman cave" and played most of the day. Of course the copic markers were sitting on my desk so I had to do some more practice coloring, so far I am satisfied with my progress, I am starting on smaller subjects before I advance to bigger ones. And I did need a girl baby card as one of my co-workers is having a girl next month. Fortunately I work tomorrow to help pay for my addition. It is supposed to be a beautiful day and since I spend a lot of the day in my car I will be able to enjoy the change.
I usually try and send a "special" card to big brother or big sister especially when this is a first addition for them. I made the brother card to coordinate with the gift card I made for the new baby which will also be a boy. I have a sticker boook and stickers to include in big brothers envelope to make him feel special too. I took a copic marker class this past weekend so I am having so much fun playing with colors and trying to blend my colors. I think this goes back to my childhood as I loved to color as a kid, especially with a new box of crayolas. The class was very helpful and of course I had to "pick up" a few more colors after the class.
I am a hopelessly addicted stamper that has to work to fund her addiction. I work pt as a home health nurse and nursing is my second passion. I am married to a wonderful husband who loves to fish (more stamping time for me) and we share our home with a big red ugly dog (aka Bella), her adopted "sister" Stella, and 3 cats.
