I have a bridal shower to attend next week so I made up 25 thank you cards for the bride-to-be. I wanted CAS and quick so I stamped up 2 formats and like them both. I am going to include the matching envies, 25 "love postage stamps" and a nice letter opener. Let me know which one you like the best. I really am sad that Blissfully Everafter is a discontinued set as it has so many cute stamps. Hopefully TAC will come out with a new wedding set in the new catalog.
This time it uploaded - when you preschedule - you don't get to preview so sorry about about making everyone wait for my creation - well was it worth the wait? I know Laci received it as I already have a thank you note from her and she did like it - hmm...wonder if the $$$ sweetened it up a bit. It was fun to color with copics. The greeting is from TAC.
I have been playing with my "new" When Pigs Fly set - after I consulted Chelsea to find out her copic combination on the pigs I was off to color. How much fun are these two??? The little guitar rocker I stamped on Octogon nesties, matted on DCWV stack called Rock Star used words from That Guy - what a nice set this is - and then used some music notes scattered around the image. My piggy diva I used nesties labl 4 - loves this set of nesties and needed some flowers and bling to set her off. Used the Diva image from Dilly Dally. Let me know which one you like best!!!
There is a story behind this birthday card!!! I have a very persnickety aunt who usually finds fault with everything. Challange to self was to make a card that she would like for her BD next week. I watched a video here that showed step by step instructions for making this fun paper frame embellishment. Dawn has so many fun tutorials, go take a look. I used More Mimi DP and More Mimi cardstock for the base of the card. I used my new MS butterfly punch that my friend Pat and I got last week when we took a day trip to St. Louis. Isn't this butterfly fun??? The only stamping on the card is the greeting which is from Savvy Sayings. Then to complete the card I lined the inside of the envie with More Mimi DP. I tried to copy but my scanner just wasn't doing it justice.
I had some "free" time to play this past weekend and there was so many things I wanted to try. This is a "shadow" technique from Gina K on Stamp TV. I stamped the image in Seascape Blue palette ink then using my stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped in black ink just slightly to the right of the blue image. For my DP I used a download that TAC offered quite sometime ago but I think it is still available under downloads. I thought it went real well with this design. I used Large labels nesties for my images, a white satin bow and card finished, easy-peasy.
I am working on a "self" challange to do more CAS cards - I like "bling", ribbons, layers, and fluff so I struggle with this type of card. I did do a bit of score-pal work on the card and did do one layer. I brayered K-Pad Blue Breeze ink on US white cs and stamped the sea horse image from Sea Critters that was a special last spring - used the saying from That Guy which was a special last month. that set has so many really good phrases - it was surely worth the $$$. And card complete. I did use my nesties large labels for my sea horse and black layer.
We are having a masculine card hop over at Paper Wings so why not join us in the fun. For my contribution I chose 2 cards. For the first I chose a new set in our Serendipity Spring supplement called Cowboy Boots. Originally I didn't think I wanted this set until my friend Suzanne sent me some stamped images and I had so much fun with coloring and creating I knew I had to have the set for myself. The boot was perfect for an old technique called faux leather where you use liquid applique (I used brown) and brayered it on my cardstock. You have to wash your brayer immediately as it can ruin your roller if you leave it set. I heat set and then let dry overnight. I stamped the boot and cut out. All I colored was the design with a chocolate Atyou Spica glitter pen (love them). I used Hemmingway DP on my rust CS and it matched perfect. I ran a brown piece of CS using a cuttlebug embossing folder and it turned out sort of like snakeskin. I poped the boot and saying up on my ovals cut with the oval nesties. And IRL it feels like real leather. My second card is a quick one using the gray sparkle cs we used to carry and downloaded the black prints from TAC. I used Just Because and Thinking of You for my image and sayings. I also used an EK Success punch and bordered the top half of the front of the card. We did this is a class I took at our LSS a few months ago and I really like the effect. Now hop on over and see what the rest of the angels have done. Rita W. Heidi Julie Carol Teresa Laurie
I am trying to use some of my images I haven't used yet from the Serendipity and this is one of those that I loved but have just not used. I did a little "out of the box" except this one I did on the side. This card is for my chemo patients sister. They suggest that if there are siblings we include them in activities so I try and send her a card every 2-3 weeks just to let her know she is not alone. My little guy is 7 and his sister is 10 so I think she will enjoy this one. I had some cupcake brads stashed and thought it added a "cute" to the card. Again scallop cs "stashed" and a 4 x 4 card was made.
This card is for a FRIEND who just placed a $250+ order - (I need mroe friends like that!!!). I have had this set for a long time and never worked it up sao I thought she would be fun to color and paper piece. Her dress is paper pieced with Uptown Girl and the rest of the picture is colored with Copic markers. I got an ink smudge on the left side so out comes the flowers - I think they covered my mistake well. Used some dew drops in the center of the flowers (something else I have had for some time and never used). Used my nestie ovals and then mounted her on white using cuttlebug swirl embossing folder. The inside says Thank you So Much.
My friend Suzanne stamped up some "boy" images for me to use for my Chemo angel patient that I send cards to weekly (sometime 2 or 3 times a week). I just had an email from Chemo angels stating that he LOVED angel Shirleys super cards. I loved this one with the frog and as it is not yet summer it worked out perfect for this week. I colored him with copic markers, used Just like Dad from my paper pack, the saying is from a special we had at TAC in April and then for the photo corners I used my new MS photo punch and I really like it. I just balanced with 2 corners. It is not quite summer here - in fact a cold front from somewhere (probably Wisconsin - thanks my Wisconsin friends!!!) and the temp has dropped 15 degrees since 4 pm. I keep one pair of long pj's in the drawer just in case and I think this will be the just in case night!!! Will be a jeans type of day tomorrow.
Has been a busy week - DD from CO. was here visitng for 4 days last weekend we had a wedding in STL to attend and then my boss is on vacation. That always make my work load a bit heavier as I am the "go to gal", the "on call nurse" and whatever else the office decides they need me for. Oh well that works out well as my friend Pat and I spend the day in STL on Tuesday and we shopped until we dropped!!! Hopefully my paycheck will meet my spending!!!Another "out of the box" card using the Wonder and Joy. This is the first time I have stamped and colored this little girl and she is so cute. I colored with copic markers and used nesties 4 to cut her out. The balloon is yellow but it just didn't scan yellow so use your imagination. Miss Moxie was my color scheme for this card and I thought it worked up rather cute. I used saying from SHE that was a special 2 months ago and this saying was just perfect as she does look like she can fly!!!
I am a hopelessly addicted stamper that has to work to fund her addiction. I work pt as a home health nurse and nursing is my second passion. I am married to a wonderful husband who loves to fish (more stamping time for me) and we share our home with a big red ugly dog (aka Bella)and 2 cats.
