September 30, 2013 Autumn Days

SU Autumn Days (retired)  Tim Holtz distress inks, sponge dauber, white cardstock, black cardstock

We have a friend who had a knee replacement the end of last week - and he LOVES to hunt - pheasant is one of his game birds that he loves to hunt.  I was able to buy this retired set from someone on a Facebook craft supply swap group and it has a nice selection of stamps to make autumn/masculine cards.  Was happy to add it to my collection.  I'm not one who has to have all currently available stamps in my collection - I have stamps that I like to use whether they are retired or not.  I don't use them for publication so it just doesn't matter.  Often times you can adapt a stamp in your collection  to come up with a "cased" card.  He is coming home from the hospital today so it should be waiting for him in his mail box.

Sweet Stampin  - Things with Wings
The Male Room - Animal, Avian, or Aquarian
          Loves Rubberstamps - Fall Colors

September 27, 2013 ToTo Dog

Doodle Pantry Digi Image, DCWV Paper stack, Spellbinders nesties, Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS

This little dog was perfect for my little Chemo buddy - as she has a small dog similar to ToTo.  This little guy is from LilDot  and I printed out the black/white image and colored him with my Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS, had a brad with a little tab from my stash and tied a little bit of ribbon through just for fun.  I used the Joy fold technique for the fold of this card the top image is card closed and the bottom shows how it opens.  Fun to make - I had not made one of these in ages.  I tucked a little sticker book with cats/dogs for her so I hope she enjoys
.
I have been in CO. for 5 days and I prescheduled some posts to pop up while I was gone.  Son and I flew out for 5 days with daughter and her husband and had a very nice time, something to do everyday.  We celebrated son Allen's 40th Birthday while we we there, his plane ticket was his birthday present from daughter, what a nice gift.  Back on schedule now so need to get busy making some more cards for my blog.

This will be my last post as a DT member with Doodle Pantry - I served for 13 wonderful months and loved every minute - got dozens of new digi images and made some wonderful friendships.  But...my rubberstamps were feeling very neglected so I am hoping to get to spend some time with them in the coming months but will never forget the time I had as a DT member with Doodle Pantry.  Thanks so much to Laurie.

Creative Craft challenge - Use Ribbon

September 23, 2013 Camel Fun

Camel from Doodle Pantry, DP from Doodle Pantry, twine AMuse Studio, spellbinders nesties

This card is for my daughter, she works for a very busy medical clinic with about 25 doctors, she is the insurance precert specialist and on Wednesday she works alone - and she never gets out of there before 8 pm, she absolutely dreads Wednesdays with a passion.  I am hoping this card using this funny Camel Fun from Doodle Pantry will bring a smile and chuckle for her.  He is precolored and also available in black/white, as well as the digi papers that comes with the image.  I had just purchased these eyes from a booth in Collinsville IL rubber Stamp Expo a couple of weeks ago and I think they just added the finishing touch.

September 20, 2013 Dress Up Birthday

Stamp by TAC, spellbinders, copic markers, AMuse Studio flowers, and sentiment, paper from my stash.

My friend Donna at Lakefront Stamping has been "sort of challenging" me to do more sketches, which is way out of my comfort zone.  I needed a birthday card for a little chemo buddy who will be 5 and I thiought this image was perfect for her and I thought the sketch from Sketch Saturday was a cute way to layout her card. (and oops I was a bit too late).  Face, arms and legs, shoes, and hat colored with copic markers, dress and hat bow are paper pieced.  Hope she likes her card.  Entering this is:

September 19, 2013 Inch Worm

Whimsie Doodles Inch Worms , copic markers, spellbinder nesties, clip and ribbon from my stash
paper from my stash

I always need cards for chemo kids and I love this little inch worm image from Whimsie Doodles and it was FREE - loved coloring it and I had the ribbon in my stash that was just the perfect embellishment on the clip.  I could even use this for a birthday card too.

September 16, 2013 Bordered Sentiments

Top card uses AMuse stamps, Bottom card uses TAC stamps, Distress markers, sentiments Hero Arts

I had so much fun playing with the technique from Splitcoast Stampers that was featured about 3-4 weeks ago.  Really pretty simple to do and love the results.  Loved using the Ranger Distress Markers to color the stamps.  This will be one of my shoebox projects next time I get together with my stamping buddies.

September 13, 2013 Pumpkins

Doodle Pantry Image and DP, die cut from Cherry Lynn Designs, cs from my stash as well as the bling.

I really had a touch choice when I choose the Pumpkin set for my image to work with this month, for this card I used the precolored image as well as the DP that comes with the set.  This set is FREE w/purchase through Sept. 24.  I won the beautiful Cherry Lynn die cut die last month for an entry I had submitted and isn't it beautiful, so delicate and my "new" cuttlebug plus wax paper plus my thin metal plate worked very well on this.  This card simply doesn't need much else except a bit of bling.  Enjoy.

September 11, 2013 Goodbye Summer

Stamped Image from TAC/Red Rubber Design, copic markers, spellbinders nesties, echo papers sunglasses from my stash.

I have had this cute little image colored up forever and just had to make one more summer card.  I'm just not quite ready for summer to be over yet and I love this image, she is just so stinkin cute.  My sub time with my little chemo buddy was over as her regular angel returned so this is the card I sent her this week as my "goodbye" card.  Hope she enjoys.  With summer waning the nights are getting darker - temps have fallen a bit and now more time in my craft room in the evenings while DH watches football.

September 10, 2013 Sweet as Pie

Whimsey and Stars Sweet as Pie image, copic markers, DP Paper Studio and Simple Stories, twine AMuse Studio

I am usually creatively challenged when it comes to sketches but when I saw this sketch over which was at Sketch Saturday  I thought I could come up with something using a darling image from Whimsy and Stars.  I had the cute pie paper from Paper Studio in my stash and I needed a thank you card for a friend you gave me 6 qts. of fresh frozen Michigan cherries already pitted ready to make a pie.  I have made one already and anxious to make another one.  I colored the sweet bear with copic markers and paper pieced her outfit.  Entered in Sketch Saturday challenge.

Sept 9, 2013 Just a Note

I made up some of the sponge backgrounds using Tim Holtz Inks and sponge daubers last week and I had a few scraps left over so I decided to put them to use, this stamp set is from AMuse ribbon from my stash and the bg paper is from Michaels $1.00 bin - "love it".  The little butterfly is covering up just a little smudge - remember there are no mistakes in stamping just opportunities to use an embellishment!!!  This card was mailed out over the weekend to a chemo patient that was facing some challenges.  Hope she likes.

September 5, 2013 Pumpkins

Image from Doodle Pantry new release "Pumpkins", white cs x-pressit, cream cs Coordinations, twine Amuse, spellbinders nesties, copic markers,  bling and button from my stash.

Another awesome release from Doodle Pantry for September and I feel fall in the air - (NOT REALLY) but the cool days and chilly evenings will be here before we know it.  I hate to see summer go as I love the long evenings outside on the porch but the earlier it gets dark the more time I have in my craft room.  Time to start on fall/holiday cards and I am really happy with the way this one turned out, colored the pumpkins with copic markers,  and mounted the image on coordination white core cs which I had run though my cuttlebug then lightly sanded some of the highlights.  Some twine /button at the top and some soft pearl embellishments finish this off.  I'm thinking my daughter and her family will get this for their thanksgiving card. This set Pumpkin is FREE with purchase September 5, through September 24.

September 3, 2013 Little Things

Every year one of my friends and I get together to celebrate our birthdays, when it is her birthday she comes to my house and when it is my birthday I go to hers.  TO STAMP!!!  and lunch!!  Cheryl has a Cricut machine (which I don't have) so she had this darling coffee cup already cut and ready to go, although I think I will use it as a tea cup.  The only CS I know is the one on the left which is AMuse.  Sentiment is from TAC.  Love how she picked all the browns and love the steam coming up from the coffee cup.

September 1, 2013 Family

I have had the 7 Gypsies photo tray for over a year (Christmas gift from a BFF) and I just didn't know what I wanted to display - when....the idea came to me to use it for our 4 generations of 1st born girls.  If my mother and grandmother were still alive - it would have been 6 generations of first born girls.  Of course Isabella is now 6 months old and gets cuter as the days go by but I will treasure the pictures I got of her first few days.
