October 26, 2016 - Sketch Challenge THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

This week over at The House that Stamps Built is our sketch challenge.

I was in need of an anniversary card so as I was looking through my stamps I saw these darling bears - 1601K Bear Hugs and thought it would work perfectly.  Since this week was sketch week there was not much thinking involved as far as layout.  I paper pieced the bears in some vintage polka dots, added some heart bling and the die cut word love and the outside was finished.  Now to the inside

I punched out 4 corners with a punch that I have had for a really long time and stamped the sentiment 8616E Happy Moments on the inside.

Hoping you will join us this week over at The House that Stamps Built using our theme of food or drink.  You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do you will be entered twice to win a $25 gift certificate to use in the store.  If you take a look over at my right side bar you will see a 10% discount on Repeat Impression stamps.  We would love to see your creation.

Now take a look at what our Design Team has created for this weeks challenge.

October 19, 2016 Photo Inspiration

Oh what a fun card to make - a shaker card with cute little black cats and sequins - although there is not a really good shot of the black cat sequins.  I shaded my cs with distress inks with a circle moon - then I went to work to stamp all the fun images.
     2310 G - Tall Pumpkin
     2318 G -  Round Pumpkin
     2308 E - Bats
     2326 C - Surprised Face
     2322 G - Black Cat
     2316 G - BOO
All of these Repeat Impressions are in the Halloween Section - just follow the link.

I am anxious to see what my Rock Star DT Team Mates have made for this challenge.

Hoping you will join us this week over at The House that Stamps Built using our picture as your inspiration.  You don't have to use Repeat Impression stamps but if you do you will be entered twice to win a $25 gift certificate to use in the store.  If you take a look over at my right side bar you will see a 10% discount on Repeat Impression stamps.  We would love to see your creation.

October 13, 2016 Cute and Cold Hedgehog

Isn't this little hedgehog too cute???  This is a digi image from Gerda Steiner for her monthly challenge.  If you have never played in this challenge you will buy your first digi and enter her challenge and every month you enter you will get the next month's digi free.  I love her digis - they are fun, whimsical, and can be used for a variety of occasions.  I decided with the crisp fall evenings we have been having a fall theme would be fun.  Colored with copic markers, leaves punched with various small punches and sequins and CS from AMuse Studio.  Happy Fall sentiment from a clear stamp set from Gerda Steiner.  Have fun.  This is going in my fall basket and they are going fast.
     Challenges:  GSD.stamps - use digi

October 12, 2016 Designer Choice - Food or Drink

This week over at The House that Stamps Built,  is our Rock Star Designer Choice category - and Patti J. was our Designer this week with her theme of Food or Drink.  Well I checked many references and I see that candy CORN is a vegetable so that qualifies!!!  What fun to make this card - I used Candy Corn 2306D  from Repeat Impressions as well as the sentiment Trick or Treat 2302G. I had some fun shimmer Halloween paper so I stamped the candy corn on white and colored with glitter pens, added some bling and for the sentiment I embossed in cooper embossing powder which worked well.  A bit of Halloween bakers twine and this card is ready to go in a Halloween box to one of my chemo buddies with some fun Halloween goodies and of course a bag of  candy corn.

October 8, 2016 Christmas Cards

Last week my dear friend Patti and I got together to make 3 beautiful card kits that we ordered from a wonder creative friend who designs for Memory Box.  Her name is Pam Sparks and here is her facebook page.  She does classes in Iowa and I would love to attend one of her classes.  But having the kits and printed directions worked very well.  We had a very good afternoon making these 3 cards with the great directions she sent, as well as all the diecuts, and embellishments.  If I HAD to choose I think it would be the fun snowman but loved all three of the cards.  Thanks Pam.

October 5,2016 - Color Challenge The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built is our monthly color challenge.  The colors were turquoise, orange, and violet, and despite the fact that my middle color looks  more yellow than orange it is orange in real life.  I used stamps from REPEAT IMPRESSIONS . these darling little dragon flies come in large and small - I used the small dragonfly 102F and the vertical sentiment Happy  Birthday 6104J.  I had made a birthday card in July for DD using the same watercolor brush technique and a single image and I really like the way it turned out.  I have a wide water brush that I use for applying the brush strokes.  The Happy Birthday was stamped on black and embossed in white and then I finished it off with a black scallop edge.  Had to have a few sparkles and sequins to finish the card.

Hoping you will create a  card using this sketch as your inspiration over at The House that Stamps Built.  You don't have to use a REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamp but if you do you will an additional entry in the random drawing drawing for a a $25  REPEAT IMPRESSIONS gift certificate.  HINT:  Take a look over on my side bar and you will see a 10% discount on REPEAT IMPRESSIONS STAMPS.  We would love to see your creation.
Now go take a peek at what our Design Team teammates have created for this weeks challenge.

October 1, 2016 HOUSE OF CARDS Gatefold Card

This month over at THE HOUSE OF CARDS our challenge was to do a gatefold card. or use the colors below.  I did a slight variation of the gatefold - I believe it is called the pleated gatefold.  I have a habit of buying paper packs/digi papers because I LOVE papers and when you use from the same pack they match pretty well.  These papers are from Simple Stories.  For the "belly band" to go around the card I first ran some solid cardstock through embossing folders and then die cut leaves.  The additional twine really tied it all together.

Come join our challenge over at The House of Cards this month.  Will be looking for your great creations to this challenge.
