September 11, 2019 Tic Tac Toe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built  our challenge is Tic Tac Toe which is one of my favorite challenges, there are so many possibilities. 

Here is my card and I went with Winged Things, Square Card, and Embossing (heat).  

I went with a clean and simple card (for me) and then found a black doily that I had saved in my stash for quite some time.  Always love to used long forgotten stuff from my stash.  I choose the 102-F Dragonfly and in the center I used the sentiment 8708-E Sending Smile .  All are heat embossed with some glitter black embossing powder.  I had some pretty glittery enamel dots that I used in the corner to finish up the card.  My card is 4 x 4 square.

September 9, 2019 POTW

This week it is my turn over at The House that Stamps Built for POTW or Pick of the Week.  I decided to share a few of my favorite stamping tools that make my stamping experience a little easier.

I have several more "tools" "gadgets", etc that I use every time I stamp, but these are my "favorites".  As you can see my desk even though it is tidied up has a lot more "tools" such as my Ott Light, 3 drawer storage units, desk waste basket etc.  I prefer to start each project with a clean work space, although that doesn't always happen - sometimes I get so much out that I can't find anything.  But I don't think I am the only one who does this.

September 5, 2019 Carter's Birthday Card

My great grandson Carter celebrated his 4th birthday yesterday on the 4th - I already had two posts scheduled for that day so I posted it today.

This was a "freebie" from Simon Says a couple of years ago and I thought it was perfect for Carter's 4th Birthday  I found the pizza paper at Michaels - which went perfectly with the pup and pizza.  I used SU dies to cut out the label he is stamped on.  is birthday party is not until Sept. 14 but wanted to get his card to him before then.  Besides it is just another good reason to make himanother card or a cute tag to go with his gift.  Love you Carter. 

September 4, 2019 Designer Choice Starts with a B

Is it really September???  The kids are back in school, leaves are just starting to fall depending on the type of tree, the air is just a bit cooler.  What a good time to take a hike so put on your Boots and grab your Binoculars, maybe a light jacket and lets go.  Heather picked "Starts with B" for our designer choice this month.

For my boots I used right and left boot prints 2720-G Left and 2721-G Right Boot prints and 2919-I Binoculars  and for my sentiment  6524-C Just Imagine 
I did something I had not done is a really long time and that was to stamp with bleach for my boot prints, I am surprised with the yellowish tones I got but it worked well with my layer of DP.  I stamped the sentiment and binoculars on a hexagon shape die cut to fill up the two corners.  I am happy with the way it turned out.  And I am also happy that both images start with B.

Today is Danni's 50 - yes her 50th birthday so we are doing a little blog hop in celebration. 

I choose this one as it is bright, cheerful, and sunny so I thought I would go with that vs. an over the hill card.  I used all SU products on this card and I love how the navy and yellow compliment each other.

This week over at The House that Stamps Built is one of my favorite challenges
Anything Goes.

For my card I choose to use  2704-H Sail Boat and 3918-F Sentiment  after I got the card put together it was still a bit plain so I used 5128-D Palm Front Sm.
as a border in green around the white frame.  I sponged a sand/ocean and sunset on watercolor paper then fussy cut my sailboat out and popped it on top of a stamped sailboat.  Had a piece of ocean background paper left so used that as a layer.  Fun card to put together.

August 21, 2019 Inspiration Photo

This week our challenge over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the photo inspiration challenge.  I tried to go with not only the colors but also the flowers. 

 The image I used for my flowers is - 9706-U colored with watercolor markers - and since August is my busy birthday month (mine included!!!) I chose to make this a HappyBirthday Card using 1113-D Birthday.  Definetly a learning curve with my new brush marker water colors - but I am pleased with the end result.  I added a little bee pop up and a green bow to the stems to complete the card.  I am loving splatters - so I used my blue watercolors pallet and made some blue splatters.  This one has already been mailed - I have a dear friend that will be having open heart surgery on her birthday so I mailed it a bit early.  I will be sending her a thinking of you card very soon - keeping you in my thoughts Helen.
