December 25. 2019 Merry Christmas

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas - and remember the reason for the season.  For this challenge Anything Goes from The House that Stamps Built
I chose to go with this cute snowman 4715-K Snow  Light.   He is so versatile - can not only be used during the holidays but how about a winter birthday.  I colored him with prisma color pencils and copic markers.  I had some really cute snowmen DP which went perfectly and then a red doily just to add some color.

Sending best wishes for a Blessed Christmas Day spent with family and friends.

December 18, 2018 Photo Inspiration

This week our challenge at the House that Stamps Built is a photo inspiration.

Our inspiration photo challenge for December is beautiful in not only colors but image,  I choose to focus on the message 430-J Here's to the Blessings which I embossed in cooper embossing powder on a piece of vellum die cut with a beautiful frame die.  The DP makes the background and with the image and the tiny copper bow I think it meets "my" requirements.

December 17, 2019 Mistletoads

Is this image not too cute - the image is by Newtons Nook and what fun coloring him/her up with copic markers.  This is a two piece set with the toad and then the Mistle Toad.  I used some holiday DP and a bright red doily under my oval die cut image.  Go ahead - it made you smile right???

December 16, 2019 POTW Wood Ornaments

This week it is my turn for Pick of the week for A House that Stamps Built
Still time to make a couple of these easy simple nice ornaments that won't break, can be mailed easily and are just fun.

Let's gather supplies

STAZ-ON ink is the ink of choice for this to turn out well.  Coloring medium colored pencils, wood ornaments (available on line, hand cut, or at Hobby Lobby) and stamps. The wood ornament was bought at Hobby Lobby in a package of 6 and ribbon was already through the hole.   I choose to make my ornaments using:
     2012-H Poinsettia
     2102-M PEACE
a crop-a-dile for punching the hole in the ornament, and ribbon or cording for hanging.

I stamped the image on my wood ornaments - make sure your image is sized for adequate image placement.  I let it dry just a couple of minutes.

stamped image on wood ornament

image colored with colored pencils, colors very easily on the wood.  I used some Nuvo dots for the center of the poinsettia, and a gold pen to highlight the letters on the Peace ornament.

Using my Crop-a-dile I was able to punch the hole in the center for my ribbon/cording to go through.

Finished ornament.

These are quick, fun,  and easy - and yes you will still have time to make a few for this year.  You could use them as a tag on a package or just give as an ornament.  I have made several of these this year and sent them to family and my chemo buddies for their trees.

December 12, 2019 Happy Birthday

I have a very dear friend who turned 90 this week.  Her son and daughter (Donna) gave her a very nice birthday party with a lovely lunch and a champagne toast.  I made her this card - (yes CASE'D from another dear friend Cheryl)and gave her a alcohol painted necklace that I had made in a jewelry class.  Love the white on white of this card.

December 11, 2019 Tic Tac Toe

This week our challenge over at The House that Stamps Built is one of my favorites - Tic Tac Toe.

I chose diagonal Teddy Bears, not a standard shape card and vellum.  I have not made a flap box card in a really long time - so after searching for some dimensions I found one that works perfect for this image.  It folds up just like a box you would pack.   I used one of my favorite Teddy Bear Stamps Christmas Teddy 2007-I for the inside.  I used a piece of glitter pink/red polka dot glitter paper on the base, then a piece of white vellum with polka dots.  I colored The Christmas Teddy with my copics, using a piece of wash cloth and colorless blender refill and made the texture on the teddy.  I cut his scarf and hat out of the same DP I used on the base.  I fussy cut teddy and then I cut Merry  Christmas for my sentiment again out of the DP I had used for the scarf and hat.  A pretty sheer red box to hold the card shut and this card is ready to go out the door.

December 4, 2019 Designer Choice

This month over at The House that Stamps Built our Patti Gilliam, Rock Star designer, was the hostess for Designers Choice  and she chose "Decorate your Envelope.

I am still needing holiday/winter cards for this month so I went with a snowman/snowflake design - the snowman images for my card and the snowflake images for my envelope. This is the first time 2017-M Let It Snow Chorus Line. has seen ink - and isn't cute as can be???  Coloring the snowmen was so much fun and I tried to coordinate the colors with the snowflakes on my envelope.  For the envelope I used: 8916-E and 8917-I Snowflake Outline small and large and 3410-C Random snow.

I colored the snow people with copic markers - and then added the glitter paper just to give it some pop.  The envelope was also colored with Copic markers and some nuvo dots in the center.  I think this will get my recipients attention when he/she sees the envelope, anxious to open the card inside.  I need to get in full speed and finish up my holiday/winter cards and gifts.  I say this every December and I always make my own personal deadline but don't like to put stress on my self to do it that way.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Designer Choice -.decorate the envelope.  So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. ow it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Use a Stencil  -  and  as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
