February 26, 2020 Anything Goes

This is our Anything Goes week over at The House that Stamps Built .  Here is my card for anything goes:

I have looked at this image several times but just recently added it to my collection.  I used 8416-J Courage Is.  Love the saddle as well as the sentiment which is all in one stamp.  Anything by John Wayne is good.  As most of you know I am a Chemo Angel and we get a lot of special requests - which is one time "extra" card if the patient is having a difficult time and needs some additional encouragement.  I stamped the image in browns.  I had been eyeing the die set with the cowboy hat, boots, and horseshoe at our little stamp store in Kimmswick, Mo.  I finally "bit the bullet" and got it last shopping trip.  It works perfect for this image.  This card is already in the mail - hoping it brings a smile to the recipient.

February 23, 2020 Sponged leaves

I have been playing around with some stenciling as I got a few new stencils and the best ever Ergonomic Blender Brush from Pink and Main.  They are currently sold out but it is well worth the wait.  The colors glide on my butter.  Then the sentiment is from Verses Rubber Stamps - and they have some really amazing sentiment stamps that simply stand alone as your focal image.  This card really needs nothing else but the stenciled leaves, sentiment and a couple of little pearls to make a really WOW card.
Challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches - follow sketch
Simon Says Stamp - add sentiment
Wednesdays Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

February 19, 2020 Photo Inspiration

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge was the photo below:  We can go with the picture or the colors and I choose to go with colors.

I was stumped for a bit on this one, I just didn't know what I wanted to do - so I ended up going with the colors.  I used 4314-K Flowering Vine and for my sentiment I used 1113-D Birthday.  I stamped the flowering vine in shades of purple and cut them out with a scalloped rectangle die.  I layered them on my card popping the one in the center up with some pop dots.  I needed a birthday card so this birthday sentiment is classic so I went with it.  Card base is a light metallic pink and I sprinkled a few sequins for added interest.

February 15, 2020 Puppy Dogs

I am really TRYING to use my NBUS as I have lots of things that I must of liked or I would not of bought them.  This is set is Happy Tails from SU - as some of you know we have 3 dogs that share our home with us.
I have recently acquired a little boy that I am doing chemo angel with so I have been trying to make a couple of boyish cards ahead.  I am so used to making adult cards but it is really fun to make kid cards.

I need to get busy and make some more in the next couple of weeks - sending out 1 or 2 cards a week to my little boy.

February 12, 2020 Tic Tac Toe Challenge

This week at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Tic Tac Toe which is one of my favorite challenges.  Below is our grid of choices:

And here is my card - using the three across the bottom.

I was still in the Valentine mode so I think this card might be for hubby - or it could be an anniversary card as well.  I stenciled a new heart stencil, that I picked up at Dollar Tree - yes - got it for $1.  I stenciled this on vellum - and love how the stenciling turned out.  I then choose a "love"  809-J sentiment  and it just seemed to fit.  A few sparkle bling and a small bakers twine bow (yes to cover up a slight oops).

Challenges:
     Crafty Friends - Love/Romance
Make it Monday - Heart You
Creatalicious Challenge - Anything - hearts optional

February 5, 2020 Designer Choice Challenge

This first week of February as with every month it is Designer Choice Challenge over at The House that Stamps Built.  This month our designer is Donna and she chose "hearts" as her challenge theme.

One of my New Years goals is to use NBUS - translated "never before used stuff" so I used 1220-F Button Heart.  I used a "wreath builder" which I got for a Christmas giftie and made my perfect wreath of button hearts.  Talk about easy, no guess work, fun image to make...and it makes a really cute card.  I colored the button hearts with copic markers and in the center of each button I used a small button that I had in my stash.  I used a glue dot to hold them in place.  For my sentiment I decided to use a die cut of "love" in the center of the wreath.  I thought it still needed something else so I went through my dies and found a pretty lace die cut and cut a piece of pink card stock.  I used a square card for this image as the center focal piece is a 4 inch square.  I'm thinking I might just do a tutorial on how to use the wreath builder when I do my next  POTW so keep watching.

Challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Double Trouble - Again and Again (I used hearts)
     Double D. - Hearts
     Simon Says - With Love
Dare to be Artsy - Love is in the Air

February 3, 2020 Pick of the Week

This week over at The House that Stamps Built it is my week to do Pick of the week technique.  I have a LOT of washi tape and very seldom use it despite that fact that I really enjoy using it.   I used  a heart shape die to keep in theme with Valentines Day but you can use other shapes besides hearts, like Easter Egg, circles, etc.  Are you ready?

Gather supplies including a heart punch or die cut, three or more washi tapes that complement each other and go with the theme, ink and card stock of your choice.
I die cut my medium size heart.  I laid it aside for a moment.  I applied three different designs of washi tape and applied them to my white card stock layer.

I laid my cut heart die on my white layer and marked where to start placement of the different patterns of washi tape.  I made very light pencil marks as you can see above.

I applied the washi tape to my heart tucking the ends behind the heart edge, I popped the heart up with pop dots and then using 1134-E Valentine's I stamped my sentiment in red.  Added heart gems and project done.

This also works with more washi tape, or various width of washi tape as noted in the card below.

For this card I used two regular width washi tape, two narrow red glitter washi tape and one narrow red gingham piece of washi tape.  I used the stamps
1201-I Be Mine.  I used the BeMine on the top and the today, tomorrow, and forever on the bottom just for a little variety.

Go through your washi tape and have fun.

Challenges:
      Cuttlebug Mania   Use a Heart
      Cute Card Thursday - Valentine
Daring Cardmakers - Layer It Up
