August 26, 2020 Anything Goes

This is the final week in August - where oh where has the summer gone??  Our challenge this is week is Anything Goes.

I woke up one morning and as I took my doggies out I looked around at the beautiful woods we live in and I saw so many shades of green leaves.  We normally use leaves in autumn cards but I choose to use the leaves for a late summer card in various shades of green.

I used the Hello Cling set and Oak Leaf 3313-E .  I stamped a row of 5 oak leaves in 5 different shades of green - and then for my sentiment I used the
Hello and there from the hello cling set.  I think it made a very pretty late summer card - and it is already in the mail to a chemo patient who was in need of some extra encouragement.  I used some green DP and light green cardstock and still thought it needed just a little something more.  So I used this darling
1326-A Lady Bug, stamped in red and fussy cut, popped up on some tiny pop dots.  Added just a hint of fun to the card.  Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Anything Goes So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. August 19, 2020 Inspiration Photo Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the below photo inspiration:

I choose to follow the shell inspiration:

I recently ordered the two shells  and sentiment that I used in the above card:
4109-H Sand Dollar and 2410-I Conch and for the sentiment 2407-G Life is a Beach . I used 3415-I Adirondack Chair .

I used a frame mask for my shading on the inside using distress oxide inks, I masked the chair in the left corner while I was doing the ink blending.  I then stamped and fussy cut the two shells and popped them up on the two right hand corners - upper and lower.  I then stamped the sentiment in the top of the shaded rectangle.  I stamped the Conch shell on the outside of a light purple envelope.
I am super pleased with how this turned out.

August 17, 2020 POTW Pop Through Butterfly/Dragonfly Cards

For my pick of the week over at The House that Stamps Built, I choose an interactive card - one that I have been wanting to try for a while.  I made my first one with a butterfly punch but for this project I decided to use the
9901-L Butterfly Lg. and 4405-K Dragonfly Deco.
Supplies are:  card stock, pretty floral paper will need 6 x 6 piece, punch, or craft knife to cut slit, scor-tape or heavy glue, card stock for butterfly and dragonfly.

I stamped and embossed the butterfly and dragonfly in black versafine ink and embossed with black embossing powder.  I used 100# cardstock so my image would be more durable and interactive as the wings will be folded to go through the slit.

After embossing I let cool and then fussy cut the images out.  I left a small white border around the images but that is strictly your choice.

Taking my 6 x 6 sheet of floral or pattern paper I cut 2 inch off first - then I cut a piece of remaining floral pattern to 4 x 5 1/4 and the 2 inch piece was trimmed to 4 1/4 in length.
I first taped/glued the 2 inch x 4 1/4 inch piece on the front of the card - measuring in 5/8 inch from the left side.
On the inside of the card I glued the 4 x 5 1/4 sheet of floral pattern on the bottom inside as shown.

Taking my punch, craft knife, or die cut a slit  on the front two inch piece approx 3/8 to 1/2 wide and long enough to let your image slip through it comfortably.    Make sure it is long enough to handle the length of your image.

Gently fold your image in half but do not score, just fold. Making sure your interactive image will fit comfortably in the slit.  Apply scor-tape, red line tape or a strong liquid adhesive glue the image on the inside of the card, just using a strip of adhesive or glue down the middle.  Leave wings loose. With the image (butterfly or dragonfly) on the outside and the middle (body) of the image in the slit adhere the image so that it will be glued or taped to the inside of the card.  To send, fold up the wings and put them through the slot.

Let adhesive dry and on the outside (front) of the card you can use your sentiment - I used 5025-F With Deepest Sympathy on the first card and 1819-I Wishing you Happiness.

In the inside upper flap I presented my greeting - 4025-F Deepest Sympathy and I
used 4013-H Those we held on the inside.  On my Dragonfly card I used

Now you can add any fun embellishments you wish to add, from bling, punched leaves, sequins, etc. on the outside of your card to make it really special. Hope you try this technique and have fun creating.

August 12, 2020 Tic Tac Toe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Tic-Tac-Toe.

I went with Dragonflies, sparkle, and dimension.

What a fun card to make.  I used my wreath builder to stamp the circle of dragonflies 5125-C DragonflySil. and the sentiment 6512-E Everyday Blessings.  I had a stencil with various sizes of circles and used a small one to apply different colors over the main portion of the dragonfly.  Again fun fun.  You could use a small sponge as well.  I then used some glitter tape on the bottom for my shimmer and in the middle of the circle I went with my sentiment and I punched a small black glitter paper circle popped it up  and diecut a white glitter dragonfly and glued it in the middle of the black glitter circle.  All of this on a polka dot background paper that I thought went really well with this image.

August 5, 2020 "In the Dark"

Turning the calendar over to another month - and this week over at
The House that Stamps Built it is my turn to pick the designer challenger and I choose "In the Dark".  This is pretty wide open to your interpretation and for my card I choose :

I have had this image of this darling fairy 4301-K Fairy's Lantern  and the sentiment 6520-C Dream Big.  Fairies come out at night all kinds - the tooth fairy, the fairy-tale fairy and the fairy on my card.  I used a DP (HL) and added a few more splatters.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the fairy then popped her up on pop dots.  Embossed the Dream Big in white embossing powder.  I added some tiny silver sequin stars and card is done.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of In The Dark.  So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps.
