August 16, 2015 Ballerina Bunny

One of my "goals" was to use those darling little fun stamps that are at the checkout at your favorite stamp store and this is just one of several - she is just so darn cute - got to love her with her little ballerina tutu on and her arms out ready for a twril.  I had some paper (in my stash) that I thought went very well with this image and used a sheet of it.  Some tiny sequins (from AMuse) and this card is ready to go - and I think I already know who is going to get this in the mail!!!

August 13, 2015 Sending Smiles

Again saw my "stash" of wide chevron twill ribbon and designed my card around my ribbon. A couple of weeks ago I reorganized my clear stamps and you know all those small cute ones that are either at the checkout or on a "special" rack for under $2.00 - well this is one of those.  I'm so enjoying watercoloring so this one is watercolored on Tim Holtz watercolor paper which works very well.  Some "stashed" AMuse big polka dot cs and a bit of twine through the ribbon and with a card like this it won't stay in my basket long before it goes out as a special request.

August 11, 2015 Napping Dog

Is this not the cutest little puppy and his pal sleeping, this image is from Gerda Steiner, it is so easy to fall in love with her images - this one was a digi, I have 3 or 4 of her digi images of 2 of her stamp sets (but want more).  I struggle with coloring lifelike animals but this one turned out pretty cute, and he just looks like he is dreaming.  I use coordinating papers from a paper pack I had "stashed" from  Hobby Lobby,  as well as some rust brown gems I had in my collection and die cut the word dream.  I know this one won't be in my collection long.  Challenges:
     Sketch Saturday - follow sketch
Gerda Steiner - challenge of the month - August
Clear it Out - brown/kraft embellishments
Papertake Weekly - spots and stripes (both)

August 8, 2015 How are Ewe

Have I mentioned that I love the Gerda Steiner stamp sets that I have - I have two and would like to add a couple more sets to my collection.  I love whimsy and this falls into my style.  I also love this fold which I cased from a SU site (can't remember which one) but it is fun to work with.

Here is the inside of the card - haven't put a sentiment yet as I am not sure who or what this one is going to.  But love following through with the same theme as the front of the card.

August 5, 2015 I'm here for You

When I looked through the new SU catalog this was just one of their new stamp sets that I had on my wish list. I love the simplicity of the flower - you can leave it uncolored, you can color, watercolor, emboss - there are so many things you can do with this image.  I have a friend who is having some struggles so this is for her.  although I have already told her I am here for you I'm thinking a card will help.  Challenges:
     Sketch Saturday - follow sketch
     Sweet Stamps - Summer

August 4, 2015 From the Heart

Another "fun" card I have been wanting to try is an upright Z-fold - I made a tiger baby card last week but this week I needed a Sympathy card and thought this would work very well.   I like black/white together and think it made a very pertty card.  the flowers are embossed, the cs is from AMuse studio and the big brad is from my stash that I have had forever.  I am really trying hard to use supplies I have in my stash - sometimes even finding a gem and coming up with a project to go with what I have found to use.  Thinking a "move" is in our future so I really really need to start thinking about what I really need to continue this creative hobby.

August 1, 2015 Flower Pot

I have been wanting to make a flower pot card for a long long time but never got around to it.  One of my besties Donna had a pattern and shared it with me - and what a fun card this is - and I love how everything fell together when I made this card.  The colors, the ribbon and the saying just all seemed to go together.  I have  several birthdays coming up this month so this will be one of the cards I send for sure.  I saved the pattern and know I will be making more of these flower pots in the future.  See why stamping never gets old???
