October 13, 2020 Merry Christmas and Candy Cane

 Good morning! Another beautiful fall morning, one of these mornings we will wake up to snow!!!

 

I am up on Techniques Junkies Blog to show you a couple more beautiful cards I made using stamps from the new October 2020 release.  My first card: uses the new Dotted Merry Christmas, love the font as well as the dots between the letters I used Santa in the Monlight  which stirs up memories of waiting for Santa as a child.  I went through my stamps and saw Good Night which I thought added to the card.   I always make my sons Christmas cards so this is the one he has chosen for me to make him this year.   I started by sponging a yellow "moon" on my blank card - then using my Misti I place my Santa in the Moonlight so that the reindeer would be in the moon.  I love to use silhouette stamps - no coloring and they stand alone.   I have a friend who has a sizzix die which I really like, of a city sky line so I die cut several of those to have on hand.  

For my next card 

I used Candy Cane and Merry Christmas .  I embossed he candy cane and sentiment using some red tinsel embossing powder - love the sparkle it added.  I fussy cut the candy cane out and popped it up on a die cut doily as well as a red doily I had in my stash. I ran my white layer with a snow embossing folder through my cuttlebug, left the script just plain white with red tinsel embossing powder .  I had some card stock in my never ending stash that was perfect for this candy cane image.  Hope you have enjoyed.

October 10, 2020 Gnome for Christmas and Wise Men

 Good Saturday morning on this beautiful fall morning.  We are getting ready to go on a trail ride in our side by side to see some beautiful fall colors.  

This morning it is my turn on the Techniques blog to post to share a couple of cute/pretty holiday cards that I designed with the new October fall release.  

 Using one of the cute gnomes from Gnome for Christmas, I made a Christms card using a library card that I had in my stash, colored the gnome with copic markers fussy cut him out and popped him up on a couple of pretty design papers for the holidays.  my sentiment came from the same set and I thought that it wsa fitting for this library card.  I distressed the library card a bit with some antique linen distress ink and a pair of scissors.  I knew I saved the library cards for a reason.  

My next card 

was made using Wise Men  which is a beautiful stand alone stamp, and using the Cloud Edger Stencil  I made the backgound with three various colors of distress oxide inks using my blending brushes. I watched a quick from Pat Huntoons blog on some tips in using this beautiful stencil.

October 7, 2020 Less is More

 This month over at The House that Stamps Built,  our designer challenge is "Less is More".

And here is my card:

which is a very simple card.  I used:  2327-C Thoughtful and for my sentiment I      used  Hello and Friend from plate 9900 Hello Series.  

Three Halloween colors of card stock and some black versa-fine ink and the card is done.  

This was a great challenge so why not go see what the other designers created.

October 5, 2020 POTW

It is my week to do the POTW - project of the week over at 

The House that Stamps Built.  I spend a lot of time on Pinterest and I keep looking at the pastel pumpkins.  So I went with this as my inspiration:

I started with 2318G Round Pumpkin and 10316-D Leaf Outline Large 

I colored and fussy cut three of the pumpkins in pastel pink, orange and blue, the leaf was colored in greens.  

After coloring I fussy cut the pumpkins and leaves, found a die cut that I liked to mount my design on, cut out FALL  from a small alphabet set I had and then punched some more leaves in green gingham.  This has a lot of color, as well as texture.  

I put it all together - popped up the leaves on the pumpkins, and tied a "tiny" twine bow to put on the pumpkin leaf.  I hope you enjoy and get an idea from Pinterest and make it your own.

For this card I used Gnome for Christmas and  Leaves Turn.  I inked up a leaf embossing folder with Scattered Straw distress oxide ink.  I colored this cute little gnome with copic markers and punched out some leaves for him to hold.  I was pleased with how this little gnome became a fall card.  

My next card is Dotted Merry Christmas this sentiment certainly stands alone but I choose to use a stencil Heartflakes and I used three shades of distress oxide inks to give it an ombre look.  Three little bling in the upper right corner and card complete.  Talk about a quick and easy Christmas card. 

For my final selection to show case today I have used Misty Trees which is a full A2 size stamp and it truly stands alone and so many applications to use this beautiful stamp.  I inked it up with a evergreen ink and stamped it using my Misti.  Stamps beautifully.  For my sentiment I used Oh Christmas Tree with a fishtail end and just a bit of green twine around the other end.

September 30, 2020 Sketch Challenge

 This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is a sketch challenge.  If there are 5 Wednesdays in a month our last week is always a sketch challenge.

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I was going to do.  First I was going to flip it.  Then using 9017-M Summer Clothes Line and Thinking of You 6103-J

I colored image with copic markers - put a couple of clouds in the sky, die cut an oval and then a layering oval.  I popped the oval with the focal image up with pop dots so I could get my clothes pens on.  The vertical Thinking of You "just fit".

Embossed Leaf

 Good Morning, I think this is going to be our last "hot" day for a while as the temps are going to turn tomorrow.  I watched a video by Gina K. on how to emboss real leaves and I have been having so much fun with this.  

I used a leaf from one of our trees in our back yard embossed in copper embossing powder and for my sentiment I used Technique Junkie Leaves Turn  which I thought was so appropriate for this time of the wear.  Hope you enjoy our beautiful fall weather.
