Every Day Button Bits

This card is one I made while my BFF Donna was here for a day and night and day of stamping. I had borrowed this PTI set from another BFF Pat, called Everyday Button Bits It has some great images and it was so much fun picking out buttons for my flower garden. I am entering this card in a challange over at Suzannes blog called Other Lovelies. Her challange was to make a RAK and you have to give it away - well I wanted to keep but I know who I am sending this too and I can't post who on my website!!!

Anchor to the Soul

This is one of my favorite new sets in the TAC Serendipity Street magalog. It has beautiful images and also beautiful inspirational sayings to go with the images. My DH is fishing (yes I know it is February but a good man fishes whenever he can!!!). My BFF Donna came on Fri. am, we went to lunch at a darling little tea room here in town, then went to a LSS The Red Rooster, then to the Amish market on the outskits of town. Then we came home and started stamping in my woman cave - well we stamped until 11:00, came upstairs opened a bottle of wine and talked until 1:00 am. Back up at 6:00 (I have 3 kitties that think they need to be fed at 6 am!!!). Made a pot of strong coffee and back to the woman cave and played until noon. We did a starburst or sunbeam technique using the score-pal. I don't think it is going to show up on the scan as well as IRL. but it is really pretty. I colored the sailboat with copic markers, a silver eyelet and some hemp accent.

How Swell

My friend Shelly just found out that her DIL is pregnant and so...we had to make a congrats card for the event. After we went out to lunch we came back to my house and we used "How Swell" which is so appropriate for this occasion. She colored with prisma water colors, added a little glitter pen here and there and of course had to have bling on her hat and her purse. The purple ribbon and "baby" safety pen completed the card. She was so excited at the finished card she couldn't wait to take it to her DIL.

It is time for our monthly blog hop at Paper Wings - this months theme is "green" either green card or to recycle something and go green. I chose to recycle. My first item is a Starbucks bottle filled with round teabags then a green bellyband (embellished a bit with the scor-bug) and on the lid a round topper with the tea bag from Tea for Two, I attached the cup with a narrow pink ribbon and pop dots and the lid can screw off easily. This is for my secretary at work who never questions what I ask her to do and does it with a smile. I don't know what I would do without her. My second project is a bandaid tin recycled to hold my precut ATC cards. This tin is special as it holds our premium white cs which I use for coloring with Copics. I used retired paper on this tin as it only took a scrap and that is what I had - I am all about using up all those scraps. Now for more GREEN projects go visit:

Furry Friends

I made a little appreciation card for "our" secretary at work to go along with a little gift I made. She never questions what I ask her to do and always does it with a smile, what a great assest she is to have working for BJC Health Care. You will have to wait to see the gift - we are having a blog hop on Feb 14 at 8 pm with the theme being "green" either recycling something or making something green. So visit my blog Feb 14 to see what I made. I love this stamp set Furry Friends which is available just until the end of February. It has all kitties and dogs, and I love both. I colored the dog with prisma colors and mineral spirits (I still love to color with this medium). I hope Karen enjoys her card and gift.

Valentine Car

This is a cute simple Valentine using a MS stamp set and TAC phrases. the little car had a star punched out in the center so I covered it with a punched red heart, put some red hubcaps on the wheels and wow have a cute valentine for my 7 year old cancer pt. that I send cards to through Chemo Angels. Thanks Pat for letting me borrow this set - I stamped up several more images to use for him in the future. I will be posting another card in a day or two. Once again we are "snowed in" up here on top of the hill so I will have lots of time to play. Off to make one more Valentine for my granddaughter who is 23 but still loves getting cards from grandma.

Furry Friends

I made up several "new" valentines last weekend when we had our Valentine weekend at Paper Wings. This one uses a "limited time offer" stamp set Furry Friends and if you know me you know my passion for pets. This set contains either puppies or kitties. We had to use pink, black and white and this is what I came up with. I punched out 3 sizes of scallop hearts THEN ran them through my Cuttlebug - I had read somewhere that punching after you use the CB flattens the embossing so...I colored the puppy black and put a glittered heart in her mouth. Hmm...think I will call the puppy SAM.

Victoria

We had so much fun at Paper Wings this past weekend meeting challenges, inspirations, color combos etc. for a Valentine Weekend. Check here to find all of TAC stamp sets in the gallery. We were to make an "vintage" looking valentine and this is what I came up with. I used one of my very first TAC images - Victoria - in fact she was one of the reasons I joined. I colored her with Copic markers, used a real feather in her hat and mounted her on a heart doily that I had tucked away for that "special" card. I used some lace I found in my sewing basket along with my tonic border punch system to lace the lace through and Victoria Valentine was created.
