February 26, 2012 Papillon

AMuse Studio Papillon, Spellbinders nesties, Memento ink, ribbon from stash

While my hubby was on a fishing trip I had 3 of my bestie stamping buds and friends to the Hotop Bed and Breakfast.  Everyone brought projects to share and this is one that I choose to share, triple time stamping.  I had done this technique with rectangle cut but wanted to try it with different shapes and I thought it turned out really nice.  Since the theme was black/white no coloring was needed to make an elegant looking  card and it fits in an A2 size envelope.  My daughter loves butterflies so I am thinking I will send this to her "just because".

February 24, 2012 Wheely Great

Taylored Expressions Wheely Great stamps, TAC stamp for sentiment, Tim Holtz Distress ink,  DP Basic Grey, flat bottom cloud MFT, asst. cardstock, corner chomper

Had a big 60 birthday party to attend on Feb 23 - my idea was having the car go up hill but hubby thought the car should be going downhill so I went with his wishes.  I choose a lot of color for this card and he drives a yellow VW bug so this stamp set was perfect,  it comes with a die to cut out the car perfectly and I love that you can do that with some of Taylored Expressions sets.  I just got the flat bottom clouds (which I have been wanting for a while), and decided to stamp the happy b-day in the center of the cloud.  I did a computer generated sentiment for the inside that stated that it was all down hill now.

February 20, 2013 Promotion

Digi Image from TLC, white glossy paper, AMuse white embossing powder, Tim Holtz distress ink, The Paper Studio 12 x 12 Baby Pack, Ribbon and safety pin from my stash.

Had such a fun weekend - and yes I will be posting all week some wonderful cards we made.  My DH was out of town on a guys fishing trip (I think - he didn't bring any fish home), so I had 3 of my favorite peeps over and we all had  projects/techniques to share.  This was one of Donna's shared technique.  You see I also became a great gramma a week ago - and I got to meet her on Monday - what a sweetie.  My daughter is here from South Bend IN. "helping" so I took her a card I made using a technique we did while we had our crafting weekend.  Embossed in white on glossy then rubbed with dye ink then "polished" with a tissue, the images just pop.  The sentiment is a digi from TLC and I had to get it as it was just perfect.  The inside has another sentiment which says "let the spoiling begin".  Dear daughter really enjoyed receiving a special card.

February 18, 2013 Tall Tulip

Tall Tulips Digi with matching digi paper, jar from Dear Lizzy, chalks for coloring, ribbon from stash, SU embossing folder

Wish I could take full credit for this idea but it was truly cased from my friend Patti  in fact we were shopping together about a year ago and we each bought a sheet of the mason jars - 12 mason jars in different colors etc.  well as you can see if remained in my stash - saving it for that special occasion - folder for a year.  Don't know why crafters do this but I am guilty.  The tall tulips were free with purchase from Doodle Pantry so I printed out the uncolored tulip and got out my chalks which I had not used for a long long time and went to work on coloring - fussy cut them and arranged them in the jar.  Then I cut the lid off the mason jar and adhered the pink gingham ribbon under the jar lid and taped it back on, the sentiment has a bit of freehand doodles, mounted on beautiful digi paper, then on the beautiful SU embossing folder with the tulips border.   Card finished and ready to go to someone who is needing some encouragement.  Sorry about how dark this came out - it just didn't appear this dark when  I did the editing in photo shop.

February 13, 2013 Poodles of Fun

Doodle Pantry Digi, Doodle Pantry Digi Paper, SU shimmer pencils, OMS, AMuse grass die, pop dots, rub on (bone) from my stash) Spellbinders nestie, asst. cs

DI frequently need dog cards for my chemo requests - a lot of people love dogs - and this is one of my favorites from Doodle Pantry.  I was in a re-organizing mood this afternoon and I found a set of SU metallic/shimmer pencils that I have had for many years so I thought how fun it would be to color the poodle up using the pencils. They blended so smoothly with OMS and I was able to get a bit of shading too.  I fussy cut the poodle and sat her in the grass - using digi papers that come with the set.  Again "found" some rub ons and decided the dog bone was just the right touch for this card.  I know it won't be in my stash long as we have been getting a lot of requests lately.

February 10, 2013 DANCE

AMuse pink gingham cs, AMuse Bubblegum Pink CS, AMuse bling, prisma colored pencils, Spellbinders Die, Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Ink, AMuse Ribbon

I guess I have not managed my time wisely this past week, plus my MoJo has taken a leave of absence - I know we all hit snags like that., but when "mom" posted that my little chemo sweetie was going to get to go back to her ballet classes I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I had to search for the ballet slippers from TAC but finally found them, colored them up with the prisma colored pencils and OMS - quick - did a bit of filling in the the Tim Holtz spun sugar ink, some cutting with the spellbinders, pop dots and a sweet ribbon.  On the inside I used "Dance yourself silly" - for all the former angels you know this is an OLD set for sure.  Wrote a note inside for her and it is ready to go in the mail tomorrow.  Got a busy week and a fun week coming up, working a couple of days, going to ST. Louis, then 3 of my bestie Peps are coming this weekend for creating.  Two are staying all night as they are coming from St. Charles area and one lives about 2 miles from me so she is going to go home and get her beauty rest!!!  I will be posting our creations soon.

February 2, 2013 Tweet House

Doodle Pantry Tweet Home Digi, Spellbinders nesties, AMuse Studio French Roast Pears, DPunches Fiskars, Paper Shapers

This week over at Sketch Saturday Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Sketch Saturday and how much fun is this sketch and it worked perfect for my card using a FREEBIE - yes I said FREEBIE Tweet House .  I have a very dear friend that I have had since high school (and that is a long time) that recently moved back to the states from Panama.  I wanted to send her a card to welcome her to her new apartment and this just seemed to fit the bill perfectly.  I want to go tomorrow and get her a gift card to slip in with the card so she can buy something new for her new apartment.  The funny thing is her apartment is in a renovated hotel in southern IL, again this image is even more perfect.  .

February 1, 2013 Baseball Birdie

Doodle Pantry Baseball Birdie, Doodle Pantry Designer Papers, catcher mitt from stash , spellbinders nestie, doodle pantry bakers twine

The first of the month is always my FAVORITE day of my creative month because that is when the new releases come out at Doodle Pantry - and this month I used Baseball Birdie - is he not just the cutest - and just in time for spring training!!!  I love the colored images that are available and this one also comes in black if you want to color him to match your favorite team. Add the DP that goes with the image and you have a perfectly matched card.  Watch later in the next day or two for a double dutch technique card using this same image.
