April 29, 2015 Antique Card

I haave looked at this set by Tim Holtz several time - ok a lot - and when it was 1/2 off at Michaels it just jumped in my cart.  I don't like everything he does but this one I did.  Made this up for a new 84 year old senior buddy that I recently got, hoping it will make him smile.  Love that it had no coloring to do - and that I could use one of those "thing-a-ma-jigs" that I had in my stash for the ribbon.  Challenges:

April 27, 2015 Smile Pinwheel

I am in a swap group from Technique Junkie - it is a 1 for 1 swap (which is very doable), I have always enjoyed doing this technique and when we had our girls weekend in March one of the girls brought a project using this technique.  I wanted to use some fun spring colors so I used this from Doodlebug, yellow glittered brad in the center and cut smile out of green then embossed with kaleidoscope embossing powder.  I am pleased with the way it turned out.  Challenges

April 23, 2015 Happy Hello

Although some people see an Easter basket - I seee a spring basket full of fresh eggs,   I used a Great Impressions stamp - love their stamps and they always give such a nice crisp impression.  Colored it with prisma colored pencils and OMS and I kept trying to get my bow on the basket to come out just right my camera simply would not cooperate so IRL it does look better.  My bestie Donna gave me a couple of sheets of purple DP and it went perfectly with this image and cs.  Of course no card is complete without bling so a butterfly and flower were added.  Challenges:

April 18, 2015 Sympathy

I was able to spend an afternoon and evening with a bestie Donna and we did lunch, shopping, time in her studio, wonderful dinner (oh did I say she is also a great cook), and some much needed "talk" time.  We did get a few cards made and I must say this is my favorite.  The die cut is from Memory Box, and I had the with sympathy in my drawer of die cuts so I don't know who makes it.  We took a stencil, a Hero Arts ombre green ink pad (new) and using a sponge sponged the three color variations through the stencil, love not only the ink pad but the great results.  the longer the ink sits on the cs,  the more vibrant the colors become.  I have had this flower die for a while and took it with me to use and again love it, some pearl green bling for center of flowers and this card is already in the mail box this am.  I am already thinking of lots of uses for this die and this technique.  Challenges:

April 15, 2015 Chicken In

What a cute stamp and sentiment from Great Impressions - (love their stamps).  I have a friend who recently had surgery so I am sending this one to her in hopes she is doing well.  For this project I stamped and embossed with black embossing powder colored with copic markers and I can see that I need to refine this technique a bit as I had a few stray black thingies, but it worked out ok.  I will know the next time.  I used bits and pieces of some patterned papers that I had clipped together and thing it all tied together.  Had some new thin washi tape from AMuse Studio that worked great to tie the elements into Sketch Saturday.  Off in the mail it goes today.     Challenges:

Crafty Catz - 2 or more patterned papers

April 8, 2015 Happy Anniversary

Needed an anniversary card for daughter and son-in-law - and I think this turned out really well, hmmm ...thinking about our anniversary coming up in a few months.  Oh well I would not remember where I had put it so will wait until August to make one for us.  I used a really cute Unity stamp, all AMuse Studio cs, love the dots and stripes and how the colors go together so well.  I am submitting this to Sketch Saturday so I followed the sketch.  The punched out hearts are to cover a bit of a "oops" but I think it turned out ok.  Happy Anniversary Michele and Bruce.

April 1st, 2015 Happy Birthday Butterflies

I needed a sweet birthday card for one of my chemo buddies and I also wanted to enter Sketch Saturday - I always get a lot of inspiration when I go to Sketch Saturday for their sketch of the week.  Then yesterday I watched a video by Jennifer McGuire on the Hero Arts website and she told how to get some extra pop on your butterflies - although it does not show up really well on this card but IRL I love it.  and don't you just love the NEW stamp from Great Impressions.  I have a couple of cloud stencils but oh my, love this cloud stamp, it is one that I will leave out on my desk cause I think I see a lot of use for this stamp.   Butterflies colored with gelatos and wiped with a baby wipe to get some color variation, butterflies colored to go with the DP from Michaels.  Butterfly punch from MS - which I think it works pretty well for this card.  off to mail this tomorrow.  Challenges:

Die Cut Divas - must use a die cut (stitched circle) (butterflies)
