November 30, 2016 - Anything Goes at The House that Stamps Built

Talk about fun - this week over at The House that Stamps Built  it is the 5th Wednesday and that means "anything goes" for our challenge. I  used two stamps from Repeat Impressions and a die for this one.  I used Joy to the World 2108-H and Sleigh Side 2112-D.  I embossed the Joy to the World in some bright gold and the globe die is from
Spellbinders and I thought it worked perfect for this card.  Added some white snow flakes with my uniball pen and a bit of red/white bakers twine and the card was complete.
Hoping you will join us this week at The House that Stamps Built  using Anything Goes for your inspiration -  You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps  but if you do your entry will get not 1 but 2 chances to win a $25.00 gift certificate for Repeat Impressions stamps.  If you look over on my right side bar I have a 10% discount coupon to use in the store for stamps - (Christmas is coming and they have some really cute Christmas stamps).  We are looking forward to seeing your creation.

November 29, 2016 One sheet wonder Christmas set

What a fun, easy, (yes even the box), and pretty quick!!!  I have seen the one sheet wonder tutorials for years but have never done one.  So a couple of weeks ago a crafty BFF came over for lunch and we "created. (other cards to follow later in the week).

Any one with TAC (The Angel Company) will remember this paper - yes I am a paper hoarder but this worked perfect.  The stamp I used on the Christmas cards is from AMuse Studio (now closed and out of business).  These are certainly non traditional Christmas colors but love them together.  All of this from 1 12 x 12 sheet of DP and 2 sheets of colored cardstock.

I will be sending several little gifties to my chemo buddy in December and this is one of them.  Might give her the inspiration to send out a few Christmas cards.
     Challenges:
The Crafters Cafe - Christmas comes early
          613 Avenue Create -anything goes
Use your Stuff - Christmas Card
Crafty Cardmakers - anything but a card - (tags and box)
          Brown Sugar Challenge -anything goes

November 26, 2016 - Autumn Cards

This is the "last" of my autumn/Thanksgiving cards before I truly get in the groove to make Christmas cards.  The first two cards were made at a recent class that I helped one of my BFF's.  We had 10 women, 1 child (who was so well behaved and talented) and 1 man.  We made 4 cards and we were hopping the entire class as only a couple of the students had ever made cards before.  But it was fun, and I truly enjoyed the ladies.  Food helps as well and they had two trays with fruit/dip and cookies.

The last card is one I made at another class - minimal stamping, just the sentiment which is from AMuse studio (which is closing in 2 days).  The sunflower and DP came from Hobby Lobby and I love the way this turned out. This was given to another BFF along with a small token of our friendship.

This Thanksgiving, my husband and I helped at a transitional house shelter as none of the adult kids came home this year.  We helped prepare, serve, deliver, and the all important "clean up".  1500 meals were served just on Thursday.  We are so blessed and give thanks for what we take for granted in our life.

November 23, 2016 Merry Christmas

Oh what a fun sketch this was to work with this week at The House that Stamps Built.   I love Teddy Bears and Repeat Impressions has several to choose from - (I think I may have them all now).  I used  Merry Christmas 1141-F and Christmas Teddy 2007-I.  I colored Teddy with copic markersand then added some texture with a washcloth and blender fluid to give him a fur look.  On his hat I added some white fluff and a grey pearl for the bell.  I used some fun DP to put my focal image on and this card is already earmarked for my chemo buddy in Canada.
Hoping you will join us this week at The House that Stamps Built  using our Sketch Inspiration challenge -  You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps  but if you do your entry will get not 1 but 2 chances to win a $25.00 gift certificate for Repeat Impressions stamps.  If you look over on my right side bar I have a 10% discount coupon to use in the store for stamps - (Christmas is coming and they have some really cute Christmas stamps).  We are looking forward to seeing your creation.

November 21, 2016 - Z-fold Box card - POTW The House that Stamps Built

This week it is my turn to do the project of the week over at The House that Stamps Built  and I chose a very popular fold for my project.  When I saw these   images over at Repeat Impressions  the cute penguins Penguin Trio 8806 - N,  I thought they looked like they were singing - so I used the sentiment Let Heaven 413-H.

SUPPLIES

Repeat Impression Stamps Let Heaven 413-H  and Penguin Trio 8806-N
Memento Black Ink, copic markers, White card stock,  Christmas designer paper, punch/note - scissors, glue, and a photo copied song Joy to the World.

This card is really about the scoring and folding of the cardstock - start with an 8 1/2 by 11 card stock  and cut length wise on the 4 1/4 mark.  Score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2,

Then cut another piece of your base card stock 1 1/2 in. by 11. Score at 5 1/2 and 8 1/4.

Designer paper is cut - for the band 3 strips  5 1/4 x 1 1/4  and (2) 2 1/2 x 1/4
Designer paper is cut - for the base card (2) 2 1/2 x 4 and (1) 5 1/4 x 4

Fold your score line with mountain fold then valley fold.

Color your focal image - which I colored with copic markers and then fussy cut these cuties.  I stamped and used an oval spellbinder for my sentiment.

Apply adhesive or glue of your choice on the 1 1/2 inch band on the backside on the left for 2 3/4 inc. and on the right again 2 3/4 inch. Turn band over and apply about 1 inch above bottom of card - apply to the left front - and then to the far right front - the piece in the middle is not glued.

I added some embellishments and took the photo a little from the top looking down so you can see the box shape in the middle.  This fold is all the in  right now and REPEAT IMPRESSIONS has so many stamps  that will work for this style -lets see what you come up with using this fold.

November 20, 2016 Happy 50th Birthday.

We had a 50th birthday party to go to - One of my husbands best buddies, wellI had gone through my store bought cards and found one - and dear hubby said "can't you make one"?  How special right???  So since I have ALL 3 sets of Tim Holtz crazy animals, birds, cats, and dogs, these are my go to stamps for a fun quick card.  I love to watercolor  these images and that is what I did with this dog, cut out a hat from the accessories collection popped it up with a pop dot, used my Amuse taller numbers to cut out 50 and this card was ready to go with us for the surprise birthday party.

November 19, 2016 - Happy Birthday

I go to church/Bible study with a beautiful young girl that is beautiful not only outside but inside.  She really holds a special place in my heart.  Yesterday was her 18th birthday so I made her a card using Unity and Amuse stamps - her grandma told me green is her favorite color so I went with that as my focal color.  Stamped on regular cs, watercolored with distress markers.  I did add some tiny green sequins after I took this picture but then mailed it before I remembered to take another picture.  I hope she enjoys and had a great birthday.

November 16, 2016 - Photo Inspiration - The House that Stamps Built

I enjoyed really enjoyed not only the photo inspiration for this weeks challenge at The House that Cards Built but I also enjoyed making a pocket card.  I had not made a pocket cardfor a really long time and I ran across one that my friend Donna had sent me several years ago.  I used some fun double sided design paper - rust card stock - copic markers to color and a fun burlap flower from Hobby Lobby that I have been anxious to use.  For my stamps I used:
3309-K Scarecrow and Friend from Repeat Impressions
3106-D Count your Blessings from Repeat Impressions
Since I was going to use this for a Thanksgiving card I choose to use the count your blessings for the inside card.

Hoping you will join us this week at The House that Stamps Built  using our Photo Inspiration challenge -  You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps  but if you do your entry will get not 1 but 2 chances to win a $25.00 gift certificate for Repeat Impressions stamps.  If you look over on my right side bar I have a 10% discount coupon to use in the store for stamps - (Christmas is coming and they have some really cute Christmas stamps).  We are looking forward to seeing your creation.

November 11, 2016 Naughty Silly Puppy

Isn't this little guy the cutest?  Reminds me of one of our fur babies, way too anxious to open not only his gifts but all of the other ones as well.  This image is from Gerda Steiner this is a progressive monthly challenge - if you buy this darling image and enter in the monthly challenge - then you will get next months digi FREE.

I colored this pup with copic markers as well as the little packages.  I used the little packages and the sentiment from one of GSD clear sets that is available in the store.  I am so in love with the Z-fold box technique/fold that I choseit for this card.

I hope you can see how I used some double sided DP to add some fun to this card.

Enjoy - and if you have the day off for Veterans Day - fit some creating time into your day.  Enjoy and have a great day.

November 9, 2016 Being Thankful - The House that Stamps Built

This week Deonna was was Designer Choice designer and she chose a very fitting Thankful for our theme.  I had some beautiful fall pattern papers from HL that were left over from a class that I had taken and I chose to work with them.  Deonnas POTW this month was to make a beautiful rosette - and since I had not made of in a long time I chose to go with a rosette for my focal image anbd then for the center I stamped Falling Leaves - 3306-I colored with copic markers and I used Thanksgiving 3213G  for my sentiment.  I used a pretty spellbinder die for my sentiment and then punched two leaves from rust paper to highlight the sentiment.  A small strip of embossed cs with twine for accent in the middle and I am super pleased with the way this turned out.

Hoping you will join us this week at The House that Stamps Built  using the theme of Thankful  challenge -   You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps  but if you do your entry will get not 1 but 2 chances to win a $25.00 gift certificate for Repeat Impressions stamps.  If you look over on my right side bar I have a 10% discount coupon to use in the store for stamps - (Christmas is coming and they have some really cute Christmas stamps).  We are looking forward to seeing your creation.

November 2, 2016 The House that Stamps Built - Color Challenge

For this color challenge I used two leaf stamps from Repeat Impressions
5110-I and 5127-K  which are both from the Autumn collection - Oak and Maple Leaf Silhouette and the sentiment is from the Thanksgiving collection
     3214-G Thanksgiving Blessings

I stamped the leaves in orange and brown - and as you will see the browns and oranges shaded to look like the fall leaves we are viewing now.  I embossed the Thanksgiving in gold embossing as well as some gold/brown sequins for embellishments.  Then I decided to add some splatters of orange just for a bit of texture and interest.

I have several Thanksgiving cards that I mail out so this one is addressed and ready to put in the mail in about 3 weeks.

Hoping you will join us this week at The House that Stamps Built  using our color challenge - such beautiful colors to work with for fall.  You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps  but if you do your entry will get not 1 but 2 chances to win a $25.00 gift certificate for Repeat Impressions stamps.  If you look over on my right side bar I have a 10% discount coupon to use in the store for stamps - (Christmas is coming and they have some really cute Christmas stamps).  We are looking forward to seeing your creation.

November 1, 2016 House of Cards - Lots of Layers

This month at The House of Cards our challenge is Lots of Layers - and this one has several layers and even an extra one that is really not an additional layer but the top layer of the card is trimmed  little then a layer added to the inside of the card.  So in total I have 3 but looks like 4.  I usually don't go with more than 3-4 layers as I mail most of my cards and the additional weight takes additional postage.

Why not join our challenge this month at The House of Cards and make a card with "lots" of layers and post to our challenge.
