December 27, 2013 Happy Winter

Stamp set from TAC, DP Reece , twine and hemp from my stash,

I have had this set forever - well seems like that long and it makes a nice "winter" card without the Christmas feel.  I love snowpeople and this little lady is no exception, she is paper pieced which I love to do, and I made up 3 of these to send to my chemo buddies between the week of Christmas and New Years.  I have a new Years card that I am working on to send them new week.  The DP is still available from Red Rubber Design  and has a real winter feel to the design.  Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

December 22, 2013 Christmas Cheer 1

Stamp set, and dies from AMuse Studio, Sentiment from Great Impression CS from AMuse studio, cuttlebug embossing folder

I think this is my favorite new set from AMuse this year and not only will I use it for Christmas but for  other occasions also.  I cut the limb from green cs. glued it on the white cs, stamped my sentiment in the right corner, then ran it through the cuttlebug embossing folder with the dotted swiss folder, then I put the bright cherry red birds on - they just pop right off the page.  Will be showing two more in a day or two.

December 19, 2013 Wintertime Boy

Digi image from Whimsy and Stars Studio, Sketch from Sketch Sat. # 230, DP My Minds Eye, sentiment from AMuse Studio, brads from my stash, colored with Copics

So much fun going on this week - I decided to do 2 or 3 challenges with this cute little guy from Whimsy and Stars Studio, and combine it with a sketch from Sketch Saturday and may find another one or two to enter also.  This card can be used not only at Christmas but I'm thinking all winter.  No more card making for me this weekend - still have to wrap gifts and bake cookies so turning the light out in my craft studio until after Christmas.  Have my Christmas cards out, tags made, Chemo angel buddies gifts mailed, now to wrap and put gifts in bags.  Challenges:
Whimsy and Stars - Christmas Card
Sketch Saturday - use any previous sketch - I used sketch 230
Digi Galore - use a digi for anything goes

December 19, 2013 Christmas Tags

AMuse supplies on all tags

Every year I make tags to give as gifties, my hairdresser loves them, my neighbor loves them and I sent a package to my chemo buddies to brighten up their holiday packages.  They are so much fun, quick and easy and you can be as fancy or as simple as you make them.  Love the reindeer - the lt. tan is cut from fun foam and the dk. brown is from felt.  The red bird on the limb is also from felt.  love AMuse dies, they cut like butter.

December 17, 2013 Snowball Penquin

Penquin Stamp by Gina K, snowflake die by Spellbinders, copic markers, ribbon??

One more darling card from November when 2 of my stanmping besties and I got together for a fun day of stamping.  We all thought our mojo was gone but after getting together we all had new ideas to go home and play with.  Just a bit of coloring with copic markers, stamping a background, a spell binder die (love the snowflake dies), and a bit of glitter and ribbon and a wonderful winter card.  I mailed mine out yesterday to my chemo buddy's mom with some fun handmade Christmas tags.

December 15, 2013 Nurcracker

Digi Image from Doodle Pantry, cs from my stash, spellbinders nesties, SU embossing folder

For those that know me you know I collect nutcrackers so when this delightful image from Doodle Pantry was available I knew I had to make a card.  I love doing "outside the box" using nesties and with the image already colored it was easy to pick some DPs from my Christmas stash and put everything together.  Of course had to add a bit of bling to finish off this card.

December 12, 2013 With Heart

Doodle Pantry Digi Image, AMuse CS, AMuse heart dies, cuttlebug embossing folder

A little late with my Sketch Saturday card but I love "trying" to follow the sketch and this week was a really fun sketch to follow.  I used a precolored digi from Doodle Pantry - this set is such a fun set - I'm trying to decide if I want to keep this until Valentines Day or send it out after Christmas to a chemo buddy who needs some cheer.  Challenges:

December 09, 2013 Jolly St. Nick

Doodle Pantry digi image and red dp, sentiment from Red Rubber Design Stickles, remaining cs from my supply

Is this not a beautiful St. Nick - which you can get from Doodle Pantry along with purple and blue hats, I choose the reds because I love Kraft, black and white.  Needed a bit of sparkle so I used some stickles on his beard (although it does not show up very well on this picture. This layout was on Pintrest but don't remember who posted it, love the layout.  Doodle Pantry has so many cute Christmas images that making your Christmas cards will go quickly.  On the inside I used a sentiment that was with the set which said "Hope you've been nice this year".   Challenges:
     Doodle Pantry - Anything Goes
     Paper Crafting Journey - Christmas
     That Craft Place - Christmas
     Bearly-Mine - Christmas Sentiment

December 7, 2013 Winter Wishes

Stamp and Die by Sizzix (only available at Archivers), snowflake punch Martha Steward, Candies embellishments, DP first pic TAC and second from Basic grey

I have had so much fun with this set - and I love penquins - so perfect for either a holiday card or a winter card whichever you choose.  There are 2 penquin stamps,  1 die cute, and the words Winter Wishes, I choose to die cut the penquin and then using my stamp positioner (which I keep at my finger tips ALL THE TIME I stamp the image on the cut die, works for me every time.  It was fun to color and/or paper piece him.

December 5, 2013 Old Time Santa

Stamp by Rubber Stampede, Believe by TAC, strip cs by AMuse, green from my stash and red twine and bling from stash

Another easy to make Christmas card that we made at our "mini" stamping day with friends.  I saw this in a magazine and knew I had the stamp and modified it a bit - never would have thought to stamp in greens but AMuse Grass pigment ink was perfect, and went well with the red/white papers and twin.  I'm thinking I will make a few more of these to add to my Christmas cards this year.  Challenges:

December 3, 2013 Winter Wishes

Stamp from Sizzix/Hampton Art, inks AMuse Studio, cs AMuse Studio and ribbon from my stash - oh the bling also from AMuse Studio

I'm getting into the groove with some "winter" cards.  Being a chemo angel I love the send winter cards in December but not necessarily Christmas until the last week or two before Christmas.  These snowflakes are an Archivers Exclusive stamp and die set - (I now have 4 total) and they are so much fun to work with.  Then there is the matter of the weekly sketch over at Sketch Saturday which I am enjoying trying each week.  I thought the snowflakes, sentiment and ribbon all worked out pretty well together.  Challenges :

All supplies except snowflake punch from AMuse Studio

Another day spent with 2 BFF's Donna and Diana at Donna's house in Lake St. Louis, beautiful stamping studio which overlooks the lake - put us all in the mood to stamp up a few Christmas cards.  I love love love this reindeer die from AMuse, it also comes with a stamp set - ON Dasher put I didn't use the set for this card I thought the die cut stood alone.  Love all the papers that coordinate from AMuse - what a breeze to make a card that you know will be "color" correct!!!  LOL

Verve Stamps, sentiment unknown, AMuse inks and cs.

A couple of weeks ago when one of my BFF's Donna and I were having a play day we made up several all occasion cards as we are both Chemo angels and also do special requests so we never have enough of those Just Because cards.  Love this technique - so easy to do and love the verve stamps that Conna brought to share.

November 25, 2013 Christmas Bird

SU bird punch, Sizzix embossing folder, AMuse sentiment, SU punch, Stickles, AMuse cs

Made this card for Sketch Saturday challenge and I "think" I like the way it turned out - maybe a bit too much on the stickles but can't "undo" stockles.  Love that all of AMuse cs goes together like the cherry red solid and the cherry red polka dot.  Will add this to my Christmas card stack, getting there - I think I have about 25 NEW ones and will go to my stash collection and I should have plenty.  Challenges:

November 16, 2013 Happy Anniversary

StampinUp Owl Punch, Stampin Up word punch, cuttlebug embossing folder, AMuse heart dies papers from my stash

My Chemo buddy has an anniversary coming up soon so although I cased this card from Pintrest I loved how it turned out IRL.  Think I am going to get them a gift certificate for Pizza Hut after researching the town they live in.  This way they can either eat out or delivery.  I know this will bring a smile to my buddies face.

November 14, 2013 - Stamping with Friends

AMuse Cs, Vellum flower from AMuse die, button, ribbon from a besties stash, stamp ???

Had a girl friends crafting day with 2 besties last week and we were whipping out the cards - some easy peasy some a bit more complicated (you know which one I mean Donna), but came home with a stack of assorted cards to send out as well as a good start on Christmas cards.  Loved this idea - especially with the AMuse shimmer cs - plus the vellum flower with button just pops.  It will be out the door before weeks end as there has been several requests for special cards to Chemo Angels.

Someone Special - sentiment from Hero Arts, Distress inks by Tim Holtz, Butterfly from TAC,  Corner punch Cropadile corner chomper

Another fun card we made a couple of weeks ago when my bestie was here and we lost power so we used flashlights and miners headlamps (and oh did I mention a little wine??), and "cased" this from another bestie Patti as she had done my birthday card using this technique.  Fun technique just apply the inks with finger sponge daubers.   Always need that  quick pic me up card.

Trying to do more of the sketch challenges - and love to do Sketch Saturday challenges as they are pretty easy to follow and to adapt it to your own special design.  Love this little girl from CC Designs, and love apples, we are working on LOTS of apples my husband brought back from Michigan a couple of weeks ago everything from apple pie, apple cake, apple crisp and apple dumplings.  My jeans are showing all the "benefits" of way too much baking.  Guess I need to just eat them straight!!!

October 28, 2013 Blackout stamping

One of my BFFs came down last Wednesday for a 2 day marathon stamping session, well...right after dinner oh say 6ish the power went out as in total darkness - hubs to the rescue with his "fishing" head lamp which Donna wore as I held the flashlight.  By the looks of the desk it did not slow us up any at all. By 7:30 with no power restored and the first game of the World Series on (St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox) the mister was walking the floor because he couldn't watch the game so he went to town got gas for the generator and everyone was HAPPY!!!  He could watch his ball game and we could stamp, well by that time we had consumed a little bit ok a lot of wine so we really were HAPPY!!!  Our creations to follow in the next day or two.  Where there is a will there is a way for seasoned  stampers!!!

SU stamps, Eye glasses die from and all paper from AMuse Studio, pearls from AMuse Studio, eyeglasses die by Impression Obession

As soon as I heard one of my BFFs that I went to nursing school with (and our kids were in kindergarden) was having cataract surgery I knew I wanted to make this card to send to her.  Although the surgery is easy peasy it is still nice and fun to get a card that someone is thinking of you.  Another one of my besties Patti had the stamp set and we had cut some extra glasses when she was over at my house for a play day so I already had them.  Love all the fun designs of AMuse papers and the reds match as well as the blacks.  Needed a bit of bling so added the pearls.       Challenges:

September 30, 2013 Autumn Days

SU Autumn Days (retired)  Tim Holtz distress inks, sponge dauber, white cardstock, black cardstock

We have a friend who had a knee replacement the end of last week - and he LOVES to hunt - pheasant is one of his game birds that he loves to hunt.  I was able to buy this retired set from someone on a Facebook craft supply swap group and it has a nice selection of stamps to make autumn/masculine cards.  Was happy to add it to my collection.  I'm not one who has to have all currently available stamps in my collection - I have stamps that I like to use whether they are retired or not.  I don't use them for publication so it just doesn't matter.  Often times you can adapt a stamp in your collection  to come up with a "cased" card.  He is coming home from the hospital today so it should be waiting for him in his mail box.

September 27, 2013 ToTo Dog

Doodle Pantry Digi Image, DCWV Paper stack, Spellbinders nesties, Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS

This little dog was perfect for my little Chemo buddy - as she has a small dog similar to ToTo.  This little guy is from LilDot  and I printed out the black/white image and colored him with my Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS, had a brad with a little tab from my stash and tied a little bit of ribbon through just for fun.  I used the Joy fold technique for the fold of this card the top image is card closed and the bottom shows how it opens.  Fun to make - I had not made one of these in ages.  I tucked a little sticker book with cats/dogs for her so I hope she enjoys
.
I have been in CO. for 5 days and I prescheduled some posts to pop up while I was gone.  Son and I flew out for 5 days with daughter and her husband and had a very nice time, something to do everyday.  We celebrated son Allen's 40th Birthday while we we there, his plane ticket was his birthday present from daughter, what a nice gift.  Back on schedule now so need to get busy making some more cards for my blog.

This will be my last post as a DT member with Doodle Pantry - I served for 13 wonderful months and loved every minute - got dozens of new digi images and made some wonderful friendships.  But...my rubberstamps were feeling very neglected so I am hoping to get to spend some time with them in the coming months but will never forget the time I had as a DT member with Doodle Pantry.  Thanks so much to Laurie.

September 23, 2013 Camel Fun

Camel from Doodle Pantry, DP from Doodle Pantry, twine AMuse Studio, spellbinders nesties

This card is for my daughter, she works for a very busy medical clinic with about 25 doctors, she is the insurance precert specialist and on Wednesday she works alone - and she never gets out of there before 8 pm, she absolutely dreads Wednesdays with a passion.  I am hoping this card using this funny Camel Fun from Doodle Pantry will bring a smile and chuckle for her.  He is precolored and also available in black/white, as well as the digi papers that comes with the image.  I had just purchased these eyes from a booth in Collinsville IL rubber Stamp Expo a couple of weeks ago and I think they just added the finishing touch.

September 20, 2013 Dress Up Birthday

Stamp by TAC, spellbinders, copic markers, AMuse Studio flowers, and sentiment, paper from my stash.

My friend Donna at Lakefront Stamping has been "sort of challenging" me to do more sketches, which is way out of my comfort zone.  I needed a birthday card for a little chemo buddy who will be 5 and I thiought this image was perfect for her and I thought the sketch from Sketch Saturday was a cute way to layout her card. (and oops I was a bit too late).  Face, arms and legs, shoes, and hat colored with copic markers, dress and hat bow are paper pieced.  Hope she likes her card.  Entering this is:

paper from my stash

I always need cards for chemo kids and I love this little inch worm image from Whimsie Doodles and it was FREE - loved coloring it and I had the ribbon in my stash that was just the perfect embellishment on the clip.  I could even use this for a birthday card too.

September 16, 2013 Bordered Sentiments

Top card uses AMuse stamps, Bottom card uses TAC stamps, Distress markers, sentiments Hero Arts

I had so much fun playing with the technique from Splitcoast Stampers that was featured about 3-4 weeks ago.  Really pretty simple to do and love the results.  Loved using the Ranger Distress Markers to color the stamps.  This will be one of my shoebox projects next time I get together with my stamping buddies.

September 13, 2013 Pumpkins

Doodle Pantry Image and DP, die cut from Cherry Lynn Designs, cs from my stash as well as the bling.

I really had a touch choice when I choose the Pumpkin set for my image to work with this month, for this card I used the precolored image as well as the DP that comes with the set.  This set is FREE w/purchase through Sept. 24.  I won the beautiful Cherry Lynn die cut die last month for an entry I had submitted and isn't it beautiful, so delicate and my "new" cuttlebug plus wax paper plus my thin metal plate worked very well on this.  This card simply doesn't need much else except a bit of bling.  Enjoy.

September 11, 2013 Goodbye Summer

Stamped Image from TAC/Red Rubber Design, copic markers, spellbinders nesties, echo papers sunglasses from my stash.

I have had this cute little image colored up forever and just had to make one more summer card.  I'm just not quite ready for summer to be over yet and I love this image, she is just so stinkin cute.  My sub time with my little chemo buddy was over as her regular angel returned so this is the card I sent her this week as my "goodbye" card.  Hope she enjoys.  With summer waning the nights are getting darker - temps have fallen a bit and now more time in my craft room in the evenings while DH watches football.

September 10, 2013 Sweet as Pie

Whimsey and Stars Sweet as Pie image, copic markers, DP Paper Studio and Simple Stories, twine AMuse Studio

I am usually creatively challenged when it comes to sketches but when I saw this sketch over which was at Sketch Saturday  I thought I could come up with something using a darling image from Whimsy and Stars.  I had the cute pie paper from Paper Studio in my stash and I needed a thank you card for a friend you gave me 6 qts. of fresh frozen Michigan cherries already pitted ready to make a pie.  I have made one already and anxious to make another one.  I colored the sweet bear with copic markers and paper pieced her outfit.  Entered in Sketch Saturday challenge.

Sept 9, 2013 Just a Note

I made up some of the sponge backgrounds using Tim Holtz Inks and sponge daubers last week and I had a few scraps left over so I decided to put them to use, this stamp set is from AMuse ribbon from my stash and the bg paper is from Michaels $1.00 bin - "love it".  The little butterfly is covering up just a little smudge - remember there are no mistakes in stamping just opportunities to use an embellishment!!!  This card was mailed out over the weekend to a chemo patient that was facing some challenges.  Hope she likes.

September 5, 2013 Pumpkins

Image from Doodle Pantry new release "Pumpkins", white cs x-pressit, cream cs Coordinations, twine Amuse, spellbinders nesties, copic markers,  bling and button from my stash.

Another awesome release from Doodle Pantry for September and I feel fall in the air - (NOT REALLY) but the cool days and chilly evenings will be here before we know it.  I hate to see summer go as I love the long evenings outside on the porch but the earlier it gets dark the more time I have in my craft room.  Time to start on fall/holiday cards and I am really happy with the way this one turned out, colored the pumpkins with copic markers,  and mounted the image on coordination white core cs which I had run though my cuttlebug then lightly sanded some of the highlights.  Some twine /button at the top and some soft pearl embellishments finish this off.  I'm thinking my daughter and her family will get this for their thanksgiving card. This set Pumpkin is FREE with purchase September 5, through September 24.

Every year one of my friends and I get together to celebrate our birthdays, when it is her birthday she comes to my house and when it is my birthday I go to hers.  TO STAMP!!!  and lunch!!  Cheryl has a Cricut machine (which I don't have) so she had this darling coffee cup already cut and ready to go, although I think I will use it as a tea cup.  The only CS I know is the one on the left which is AMuse.  Sentiment is from TAC.  Love how she picked all the browns and love the steam coming up from the coffee cup.

I have had the 7 Gypsies photo tray for over a year (Christmas gift from a BFF) and I just didn't know what I wanted to display - when....the idea came to me to use it for our 4 generations of 1st born girls.  If my mother and grandmother were still alive - it would have been 6 generations of first born girls.  Of course Isabella is now 6 months old and gets cuter as the days go by but I will treasure the pictures I got of her first few days.

August 27, 2013 Movie Ants

DoodlePantry Digi Popcorn Ants. DoodlePantry digi paper, popcorn Sizzix die, liquid applique, bakers twine, Distress ink - scattered straw, Wink of Stella Pink glitter pen,  and of course POPCORN

Love how this turned out - just found out that one of my chemo buddies (child) is on house isolation as her blood counts are down a bit and she is prone to infection.  So...I have a little package ready to mail to her with a movie and the bag of microwave popcorn.  I used Doodle Pantry Movie Ants Color Plus  which comes with digi paper to match, as well as sentiments.  Made a microwave popcorn "sleeve" to wrap around the "movie butter" microwave popcorn!!! Spent the day with a friend on Thursday "creating" and she has a Sizzix die with a popcorn box and the popcorn so I cut out some popcorn to bring home as I already had this in my mind.  A little liquid applique and a heat gun and it looks like real popcorn.  Hope the movie will help her pass some time at home.

August 25, 2013 Hambo Pig Birthday Card

Flying Pig from Hambo Digi, Basic Grey DP, Bazzill cs, colored with copic markers, Wink of Stella glitter brush for floer centers, bakers twine and button from my stash

My chemo buddy has a birthday coming up this week and she likes and collects stuffed pigs.  I found a really cute pig a while back at Barnes and Noble book store of all places and a calendar with pigs so I knew what I was sending her for her special day.  Next I needed a card, - I have seen this Hambo pig used several times on different blogs and I fell in love with it.  Colored him up with copics and just played around a bit with the placement and layout.  I hope she enjoys her card as much as I enjoyed making it for her.

August 18, 2013 Eat Cake

Amuse Studio stamps Eat Cake and Hey Cupcake, Amuse cherry polka dot cs, copic markers, Amuse blind, Memento dye Inks, stamp positioner

This technique was one of the new ones in Technique junkie for August/September 2013.  I usually like to try out at least one if not more of the new techniques and this one was really fun to do and really makes a wow statement.  You HAVE to have a stamp positioner and even with that my stamping may be just a wee bit off.  Colored the cupcake with copics, paper pieced the muffin cup and cherry and oh the bling well that was added to cover up an "oops"!  Give this a try and I think you will be happy with the results.

August 14, 2013 Water Otter

Doodle Pantry Digi Water Otter, Doodle pantry DP, Amuse bakers twin, button from stash, Kraft cs, wave punch

How often do you see just what you are looking for???  Well this month there was a special request from a chemo buddy that liked otters and I knew Laurie had released this cute little fellow this month and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.  The inside has the sentiment also from Doodle put a couple rows of waves, highlighted them with my Wink of Stella clear pen (love this new item).  I tried several white pens and none of them would work so they are no longer taking up precious space!!.  The Wink of Stella pen also comes in white but our LSS was out so next time I go that is on my must have list.  Love the modified gate fold card - it is a 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 piece of cs scored at 2 3/4 in. and 7 in. and the DP measures 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 and the other side is 1 1/4 by 5 1/4.  Easy peasy and love the look, this is the second card I have done this way this month.  Found this is Summer 2013 CardMaker magazine, so many fun ideas.  This is in the mail and hoping it will bring some smiles .  entered in
