August 30, 2017 Sketch Inspiration

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge was to follow the top sketch.  I was truly a bit challenged on this one but finally got it to all work out.  I guess I was in the "pre" Christmas mood as I used 413H Let Heaven and
2008K Shepherd Boy found here.  I colored this sweet stamp with copic markers and then sponged in the sky with some distress inks.  I used a variety of DPs that I had in my Christmas and general stash of papers and followed the sketch.  I had some cute little star sequins so added them in the sky.  What a fun card to make and I am one up on my Christmas cards.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of Sketch Challenge. The possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

August 25, 2017 Tranquil Tulips - OOPS

Can you spot the difference?  I know you have to look really hard right???

Every 2 weeks there is a group of stampers that meet at Panera's Bread and we stamp one card.  We have a great friend who is a SU demonstrator so she supplies all of the materials all we have to do is buy coffee and well maybe a pastry.  This is what happens when you start talking and not paying attention to what you are doing - OOPS - upside down.  And of course the sentiment was the last step of my card.

When I taught beginning stamp classes many years ago I always told my students there was no mistakes in stamping - just an opportunity to embellish or that cardstock always had two sides.  Well the teacher had to come home and fix her mistake.  I used a punch - put my sentiment on a small slip of scrap CS and put it behind the punched area.  I added a few sequins to cover up where the script shows through and added a beautiful little bow (thanks Patti) and now the card i ready to be mailed.

Needless to say we all look forward to out Cup and a Card morning every 2 weeks and have become good friends.  Thanks Sally for all you do.

August 23, 2017 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built the challenge is ANYTHING GOES which is one of my favorites - lets your imagination do just about   anything you desire.  I just recently discovered that I have a fondness for fairies, and this little fairy on the flower is 4303M Nap Fairy and the sentiment is 7205W Hugs Flip Set.   I used a piece of DP that I had in my scrap basket and mounted my focal oval  image on top of a pretty yellow polka dot 1/2 doiley.  Colored image with copic markers, glittered her wings a bit and then added a cute little flower in the bottom right corner.  This card is going out in the mail with a little package for granddaughter this week.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of ANYTHING GOES. The possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

August 16, 2016 Photo Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built the challenge is a photo inspiration pictured at the start of my post.  I chose to go with a wiper card and it has been years since I have made one of type cards, had to look up some instructions.  I used stamps from one collection found HERE  9712Q Fish Bowl, 9713E Bubbles, 9716H Fish Face, and 9720C Big Wish.  I had recently bought some "fishie" paper so it worked well on this challenge.  I had some underwater plant and shell dies so I used them in the bottom of the fish bowl.  I fussy cut the gold fish out as the popout on my wiper.  What a fun card.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the photo challenge -   possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

August 9, 2017 Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challengeis Tic-Tac-Toe which is one of my favorite challenges.  I choose to do fun fold, stenciling, and dew drops.

I used Happy Bee 9301-P for the outside of my card which was gate fold - then honeycomb stencil in distress oxide Wild Honey ink.  I embossed the image after coloring with rainbow embossing powder and mounted on a scallop circle.  I ten wrapped a piece of twine around and under the circle and tied in a bow.  Some dew drops finished the front.  On the inside I did a hidden message until you open the card.  I used Beecause 9312-D and finished off with Sweet 9313-D.
This was such a fun card to make and really not that hard.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of Tic-Tac-Toe   the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

August 7, 2017 POTW - Bandana Technique

This is my week over at The House that Stamps Built it is my turn to do the Project of the Week.  I choose to do the Bandana Technique.

This is an oldie and I had not made one in several years - but I remember when they were popular and fun to make.  Reminds me of the bandana handkerchief my hubby usually has in his back pocket.  He uses his for a sweat band, neck cooler in hot weather, and a handkerchief in cold weather.

Your supplies will be:  Card stock - base cardstock A2 size, and  one color to stamp on which needs to be a dark color, red, purple, dk. green, blue etc. and a layering colors, Versafine black Ink, ribbon, stylus, white acrylic paint and a small plate or container to pour some white pain into.  And your stamps.  I used:

Stamp images in black Versafine ink using firm pressure to get good image, just stamp randomly so that it is pleasing to the eye.

Using either end of stylus - (or toothpick, empty ballpoint pen etc) tip  of stylus in white paint acrylic paint and add white dots, again random so that it is pleasing to the eye.  I have two different sizes of stylus so I was able to make varying sizes of dots.

You can do as much or as little as you like and if you wish do some random dots between images.

Finish card as you wish - the solid flower images work so well with this technique but I also found that the open small leaves worked well.  Have fun.

August 2, 2017 DCC - Sound of Music

The first Wednesday of the month is designers choice over at The House that Stamps Built  and this week Cheri picked your favorite movie.  I had recently received the music stamp 6806-U Sheet Music  and my favorite movie is
THE SOUND OF MUSIC so this worked perfectly.  I used my Misti and stamped the image in black.  For my sentiment I used 2521-H A Friend Knows which I embossed in white on a black die cut.  I added some punched notes, and some bling pearls on my sentiment  and layered this on black/white polkadot bg.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme your Favorite Movie.  the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

August 1, 2017 House of Cards Challenge

When I saw the Challenge for this month at House of Cards and saw that is was floral image and/or colors I did a floral image.  I picked up this stamp set from Darcie over a year ago and it was in my NBUS (never before used stuff) so thought I would play with it n one of our HOT afternoons that we have been having here in southern Missouri.  This card required a LOT of masking - but loved the way it turned out.  Colored with copic markers - added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle and then figured out my layout.  IRL the colors are so much brighter but for some reason this just didn't photograph as well as I wished had.

Come join us for this challenge over at The House of Cards this month - will be looking forward to seeing your creations.
