December 26, 2012 Bouquet of Flowers

Great Impressions Stamp, AMuse CS, copic markers, Spellbinders nesties, flower punch, small circle punch, AMuse bling

It was a toss up last week on which card to send dear granddaughter for her 11th birthday.  When I saw this stamp as the "feature" stamp at the StampPad in Kimmswick, MO and it was 40% off and you got the postcard with all the stamp ideas well it just jumped in my basket and came home with me - okay as well as a couple of others LOL.  This little girl was so fun to color and paper piece and she stamped beautifully.  Haven't put a sentiment or greeting on it yet - but I know it will soon be on its way to a Chemo patient so when the request comes in I will stamp probably a Hello on the outside and a Thinking of You on the inside. Stay tuned for more cards using Great Impression stamps!!!

December 22, 2012 Sarah

Digi Image "Little Miss Muffet", DP Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey, copic markers, Spellbinders nesties, MS snowflake punch, scallop punch SU

There was a challenge over at  Little Miss Muffet and I choose to use Sarah one of the digi images from the Little Misses collection.  The sentiment I computer generated and added it when I was sizing my digi.  Love the DP that I had in my stash - and the nesties I used worked perfectly.  Needed something else so I had some glitter paper that I used on the bottom and used the scallop punch and then punched out 2 snowflakes and popped them up with pop dots.  This is my Christmas card to my little chemo girl - I'm thinking she is going to like it.

December 17, 2012 Sonny Honeycloud

Little Miss Muffet Digi Image, Bazzill CS, DP (from my stash), Spellbinders nesties, copics, Fiskars punch, EK Success punch, bling

Got to get this in the mail TODAY - dear granddaughter is having her 11th birthday on Friday - she is no longer a cutesy little girl, or not quite in that teen stage so I knew Honeycloud from Little Miss Muffet was Megan - sort of a "steampunk" look but still cute.  When she came to visit this summer for a week she had her favorite hat - which was purple so I choose green/purple color palette.  Now to go with this is a gift card to her favorite new store Justice which is just her style now.  Happy Birthday Megan!!!

December 15, 2012 Tractor Sheep

Doodle Pantry Tractor Sheep digi image, Doodle Pantry DP, asst. cs, MS punch, AMuse bakers twine, spellbinders nesties.

I needed a card in a hurry this am before I headed out to the post office - had a special request for Chemo Angels and the request was for a "retired" farmer who needed encouragement and he also had a sense of humor.  Well I knew I had printed out the Tractor Sheep from Doodle Pantry  images so all I had to do was print out the digi matching paper, (the digis were precolored), cut out the images with my spellbinders nesties, wrap a bit of bakers twine and i was ready to go.  The sentiment inside both cards reads "I'm pulling for you". Just a note - all digi images from Doodle Pantry are 35% off now thru Jan. 3, so go on over and check out your favorite digi images from Doodle Pantry, now is the time to add them to your collection.

December 11, 2012 Vintage Ornaments

Doodle Pantry digi Image Vintage Ornament, Doodle Pantry Digi DP, Bazzill red cs, Creative Memories Corner Punch, MS punch, spica red glitter pen

I am very happy with the way the way this card turned out - this image is from  Doodle Pantry as well as the DP that comes with the set.  The images are precolored (my favorite), and when I added some "branches" using my MS punch I think it looks like a Christmas Tree with the ornaments hanging from the branch.  Love the sentiment also included in the set.  I used a Creative Memories corner punch that I have had for years and it was just the little extra touch the card needed.  Off to put this in an envelope and send it on its way.

December 8, 2012 DoodlePantry Oldies but Goodies

Doodle Pantry Digi Image Morning Glory, DP TAC, Copic Markers, Spellbinders nestie, QuickKutz nestie, AMuse pearls, spica lt blue glitter pen,

Design team members over at Doodle Pantry are having a blog hop "Oldies but Goodies."  Each month Laurie (the owner) comes out with several new amazing images and sometimes we put the oldies to the side, so with this hop we are showcasing some of the older images.  I choose Morning Glory because I love to color, and the sentiments that come with this set are amazing especially for my chemo angel patients.  I choose  the sentiment "just take it one day at a time".  The owner Laurie is graciously giving away a $20 gift certificate to one winner that leaves comments on this blog hop.  Be sure to leave a comment on my post.  Laurie will pick one DT member to give away the gift certificate and that DT member will choose a random winner from her list of comments so make sure you leave a comment.  You won't have any problem finding images that you love to spend your giftie on, she has both precolored and black/white images so you will have fun shopping.  Even if you don't win, head on over to Doodle Pantry Specials and use the 35% off coupon that Laurie is offering good thru Jan. 3.  From my blog head on over to Jennies blog, and  see what beautiful image she has used.

Whimsey and Stars Studio, copic markers, spellbinders nesties, Graphic 45 DP, My Minds Eye DP, postage stamp scissors.

This sweet image was a freebie from Mabelle, it reminds me of the Charlie Brown tree in a way, but was fun to color with copics.  I knew I wanted to add a bit of a vintage feel - and I've had the Graphic 45 DP for over a year - well okay maybe 2, it just seemed to work for this image.  Thanks Mabelle.

December 4, 2012 Peppermint

Doodle Pantry Digi Image - Peppermint, AMuse candy cane cs, Quick-Kutz nesties, Spellbinders Nesties,  Corner Punch EK Success

WOW - Laurie over at Doodle Pantry has just added a wonderful color image of Peppermint - and all I could think of was the sweet taste of the peppermint candies that I love.  I printed a percolored image out on cs, cut out with nesties, then the word peppermint and again love the new dies from Spellbinders it cuts not only the word but the fancy image behind the word.  This set comes with 5 nesties and 5 middles.  Love the candy cane cs from AMuse, as well as the cherry cs again from AMuse - it matched the red peppermints perfect.  I found a basket of punches the other day when I was cleaning out my closet and this worked perfect to add a little umpf to my card, it works on all 4 corners and then just slide the cut to size cs in the corners.  Two little pearls and this card is ready to go in an envie and get an address.  What a quick addition to my growing stack of Christmas cards.

November 22, 2012 Caroling Friends

Caroling Friends, Doodle Pantry Digi Image, DCWV white core cs Spelbinders nesties, music dp from my stash, SU embossing folder, Small snowflake punch??, bling AMuse.

This darling image from Doodle Pantry was just perfect for my first Christmas card post.  I just got this SU snowflake embossing folder (has been on my wish list for a while) so it made the perfect bg for my image.  I still have a stash of DCWV white core cs and it sands out so pretty, especially for these snowflakes.  The image is "precolored" and the sentiment also comes with the set.  I have a small snowflake punch which I punched out of some blue glitter cs I had and a tiny bling in the center of the snowflakes.   I remember when I was a child after Thanksgiving dinner my Mom would get out her Christmas cards and sit and address the envelopes and write a note in almost each card.  I'm not that organized but with precoloed images as sweet as this i will get my cards done in no time.

Amuse Stamp, AMuse butterfly die, Amuse cs, Banner stamp ???, MS grass punch

Had a request from my chemo group for a "Need a lift" card so I thought this would be perfect, and how easy peasy it was to put together.  Love the bike from AMuse stamp set Enjoy the Ride - it has both a girl bike as well as a boys bike and 12 cute little sentiments.  For the banner I had several little scraps of AMuse cs (I don't throw away anything.)  It worked perfect for my banner.  Hope this gives the pt. a lift.

November 5, 2012 Quirky Polar Bear

Quirky Polar Bear from Doodle Pantry, DP doodle Pantry, MS snowflake punch, Spellbinders nesties, small pom-pom, glittered cs.

This darling polar bear from Doodle Pantry  was one of my favorite images which was released in October.  The card is a technique from Technique Junkies CD and in September there were 4 friends that got together and we each brought a shoebox project and my friend Donna used this project called Zig-Zag Accordion Card.  The snowflakes are glued on thin wire and pop up when the card is opened.  The card she had in her shoebox was this one:
TAC papers, Hampton Arts Stamp, TAC flower punch, Sheer Ribbon

Isn't this one pretty - again same technique Zig-Zag Accordion with the flowers on individual wires.  What a fun card to make and to send.

November 1, 2012 Holiday Cactus

Doodle Pantry Holiday Cactus which includes DP used, Pop dots, Diamond Dots

Today is "new release" day over at Doodle Pantry  this set is FREE if you enter the Doodle Pantry Challenge 29, what a fun set to add to your collection for the holiday cards especially if you have friends living in the warmer southwestern states.  This card is a motion card - which can be mailed flat and then set up as an easel card once opened.  I used the design paper that comes with the set and I used the colored image so it makes matching a no brainer.  The next card also uses this set:

Doodle Pantry Holiday Cactus, DP and CS from TAC, pearls from my stash, cloud dies AMuse

I wanted to show a non holiday card using this set - again using the colored image , paired with some DP and CS from TAC which I still had on hand, I thought the paper had a desert feel and worked very well with this image.  Needed something else so added a couple of die cut clouds and bit of "bling" and this card is ready to go to someone who "needs a lift!!"

October 27, 2012 Football Birdie

DoodlePantry Football Birdie, Spellbinders nesties, Prisma Colored Pencils, Sentiment TAC, Doodle DP, Football Leather CS Reminisce, Coluzzle Cutting Template

I made this card for DH's birthday which is Sunday 10-28 - when I saw Doodle Pantry   Football Birdies images I knew that was what I was going to use for his card. How much fun this was to put together.  My DoodlePantry Design Team Mate Georgia had made this in September and I emailed her and asked if I could "case" it!!  I used my "old" coluzzle circle template to cut the circle with on this z fold card - I knew I saved all those templates for a reason.  I colored the birdie shirt to "match" San Francisco 49ers as this is DH favorite football team and then wrote SF on his helmet and jersey.  The football DP that came with this set was perfect and I had a sheet of football leather cs that I had been saving for that "just right" occasion.  I hope he likes his card.

October 22, 2012 Jayson Raking

Whimsie Doodle Digi Image, Doodle Pantry DP, Farm House 6 x 6 Paper Pack, Tim Holtz Distress Markers, spellbinders Nesties, leaf button,

This darling little boy raking leaves was a "free" image from Whimsie Doodles called Leaf Me - and isn't he too cute??  I colored him with Tim Holtz Distress Markers, (need some more practice for sure), but he would be fun to color with just about any medium.  I bought the Farm House Paper pack the last time I was shopping in my favorite scrapbook/stamp store For Keeps Sake which is just full of fun stuff.  I printed out the leaf DP from my computer using the DP from Doodle Pantry  this DP comes with the new set Autumn Star.  What a fun card to put together and he is on his way to a little guy receiving chemo.

October 19, 2012 Autumn Star DP

Doodle Pantry DP and sentiment, AMuse Leaf Die, Spellbinders die, washi tape, Amuse French Roast pearls, asst. cs. Memento Peanut Brittle ink
Ever wonder what to do with those little scraps of DP that you have left over, I love using dies and cutting out the image then putting left over DP to put behind the cut out image.  I love how Doodle Pantry  often comes with the images in color, black and white and often 2 to 3 beautiful DP.  I usually print off the DP in full pages and I know it is going to match my colored image.  I loved this sentiment and thought it went with the card perfectly.

Doodle Pantry Digi Image, Doodle Image DP, Autumn Leaf Brad Michaels, Votive Candle, Kraft CS - AMuse, Aspen CS Angel Company

When I saw this image I immediately knew I was going to use it for my Thanksgiving dinner table as "seating" cards with each family members name written on the card.  This was so easy peasy to make - I made a simple pizza box, used the DP that came with this beautiful digi set from  Doodle Pantry called Autumn Star which is one of the new releases for October.    This set comes precolored (love the precolored images) and Laurie (the owner) colors and shades her images so well.  I had picked up a box of votives at Big Lots last year so they will be used for my Thanksgiving table.  I can't wait to light the candle to see how the Autumn Star shimmers.   SALE yes I said  SALE - 25% off entire cart (except gift certificates) from now through Oct. 16, including new releases (which includes the one I have used above).

October 8 is my dear granddaughter and husband (Paige and Rusty) 1st anniversary.  I have this image in mind for a while now so made it up last night and I love how it turned out.  I made a square 6 x 6 card as I had so much "stuff" to get on the front.  Mabelle's images from Whimsy and Stars,  are so much fun to color and work with - what a talented artist.  I met Mabelle many years ago at an convention for The Angel Company and I am so happy she has continued on with her work.  I  think Paige and Rusty will like their card - (especially with a gift card enclosed).

October 4, 2012 Penny Black Autumn Tree

Stamp by Penny Black, colored with Tim Holtz Distress markers, Basic Grey DP,

I just got a new "senior" lady that I am going to shower with cards, Senior angels are a part of Chemo angels.  I stamped the tree by Penny Black with black Memento ink, then colored the leaves with distress markers, I enjoy using them and yes they are different than the basic markers,  there is a nice video by Tim Holtz if you think you would be interested in trying the markers.  This will be my first card to my lady to introduce myself to her.  This is such a rewarding endeavor to be a part of.

September 30, 2012 Negative clear stamping

On Monday of last week 4 of us got together and had a "stamping" day - Patti, Donna, Donna's Mom Marian, and me.  We went to Marians house each with a shoebox project and this proejct was Pattis.  We took clear stamps and put them on the block "backwards or upside down" and stamped a solid image, then we reversed the clear stamp and stamped over the solid image in black.  Love the look we came up with - talk about a simple quick easy card that makes a statement.  You can also do this all over an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white cs then cut it into A2 cs size.  One more project to go and I will be showing that next week.

September 28, 2012 copic coloring on black

Copic Markers, Black CS, Queen and Co. washi tape, stamp (unknown)

This past Monday I got together with 3 of my best peeps - my friend Donna, Patti, and Donna's sweet Mother Marian and we each had a "shoebox" project - this was Marian's project.  She had sent me a birthday card using this same technique and I told her I wanted to know how she did it.  Well guess what that was her project, we stamped on black cs with white pigment ink, used white embossing powder then just highlighted with copic markers, I think it makes a really petty card.  I added just a bit of color with the washi tape (love that stuff), and of course a bit of bling too!!!  Be watching for the other 2 projects real soon.

AMuse Autumn Leaves stamps, K-pad - Autumn Leaves, Amuse CS, asst. bling

On Monday of this week my two besties Donna and Patti spent time with Donna's mother and we had a fun day of stamping and creating.  We each had a project all cut and ready to stamp and put together - my project was this card with the Autumn leaves and triple time stamping, it is so much fun and creates a beautiful card.  Everyone liked the project a lot.  with AMuse cs it is so easy to match colors etc. and it is white on the inside.  Had a super lunch that Donna and her mom made and tons of fun.  I will be posting the other projects later this week.

September 23, 2012 Hot Rod Pick Up

Doodle Pantry HotRod Pick Up Digi image, Koh-I-Noor pencils, OMS, Spellbinders, Bakers Twine, Basic Grey DP, Spica pen, stitching with sewing machine.

I needed a card for a man in my chemo group that needed a "PICK UP" and I thought this was the perfect image from Doodle Pantry.  They always seem to have the perfect image when I am looking for just that right message or image.  I colored it with my woodless colour pencils from Koh-I-Noor which I hadn't used in a while - always fun to get out the old supplies.  Love my new dies and the stitching added just the right "antique" look. I have way too much papers so i am making a goal to use some of them up and this Basic Grey was a good match for this image.

September 17, Mr. Monkey

Doodle Pantry Image and SP, Leaf punch , MS grass punch, Our Daily Bread fence, Spellbinders Hexagon nesties, pop dots, The Paper Studio woodgrain embossing folder

This image is FREE if you enter the Doodle Pantry Challenge  this month by September 24 - and what a cute cute image to work with.  I send a lot of kids cards through Chemo Angels and this was perfect as we had a request for a little guy that was going through a difficult time.  Always seems like I can find just the right image from Doodle Pantry when I need it.  This was such a fun card to make - I knew I wanted a fence (I had just purchased one from the Stamp Expo in August, and I know I will be using this die a lot, I popped it up off the grass to look like he was maybe in a zoo setting.  Hexagons are so popular now so this little guy just fit, well almost I had to trim up a leaf and have it "out of the box" just a bit, again the monkey hexagon is popped up. I cut a bigger size hexagon from the front of the card then ran it through the cuttlebug with a "new" embossing folder I got at Hobby Lobby!!!  I am hoping this will bring a bit of cheer to my little guy.

September 12, NorthWoods Halloween class

Northwoods Rubber Stamps

My friend Pat and I had a fun day out a couple of weeks ago and took a class at a LSS in South County called For Keeps Sake.  The teacher Mary is amazing and the cards are usually outstanding and this was no exception.  When you do a Northwoods class you use a lot of stickles (which I love),(and which didn't show up in the picture I took),  copic markers to color and the Northwoods stamps are great to work with.  Of course you get to "SHOP" after the class and the store is always well stocked with everything a stamper or scrapper needs (or doesn't) to either start or finish that certain project you are working on.  What a fun day.
