May 28, 2015 God's special work of art

I have played around some with the bokah technique - sponging the color on but for this one I used re-inkers and my waterbrush to make my background then I made a template from acetate with different size circles for sponge on my white. I used SU craft white ink - not sure if I really like it but until I can find another white ink pad this will do.  I even used a "new" pencil eraser for the small tiny dots.  Added some sparkle sequins just to jazz it up a bit.  Stamp set and sentiment is also from SU.  Challenges:
House of Cards - bokah technique
Word Art Wednesday - anything goes
     Tuesday Throwdown - anything goes

May 27, 2015 Aim for the clouds

Love the way this card turned out - and it will be on its way to Australia this am to a young boy fighting cancer that has a wish to get cards from all over the world, so he can add MO. to his list.  I ran across this card design (that I had in my stash and wanted to use it "again" for a card ) and then I thought of a darling airplane (see card open below) and it worked out perfect.  The stamp is from

Repeat Impressions - isn't it cute?  and the sentiment says Aim for the Clouds also from Repeat Impressions.  A few stars, some red stripped ribbon which seemed more masculine and a star brad and this card is out the door.  Challenges:
     Simply Papercraft - anything goes
     Tuesday Throwback - anything goes
The Pink Elephant - anything goes

May 24, 2015 Smile Giraffe

Enjoying yesterday afternoon in my craft room while hubby and son fixed dinner - and got creative with this old TAC set which had this cutesy giraffe.  It also had a snake, hippo and a couple of other animals.  I didn't get rid of this set as it makes really cute kids cards - and I also made this card using the same giraffe

This card is for a baby "sprinkle" - which is a mini shower for a second baby.  They are doing the room in bright oranges, greens etc. so I loved this color palette.  Used some new yummy cs from AMuse which will be in the new catalog coming in JUNE.

May 22, 2015 We Scream

This has been on my shelf for over a month and was just screaming "use me next", so I needed a quick "cute" card to send to a friend this am and knew which set I was going to use.  This is a "new" set that was featured in Amuse monthly special and I just bet it will be in the new catalog - or at least I hope so.  Talk about cute summer cards, kids cards, or just fun cards this set is it - included are three die cuts.  I used AMuse cs and love the way it all coordinated.  I have had the "goo" punch of MS for a long long time and usually just use it at Halloween but I thought dripping ice cream - perfect.  I also had the word bubble punch and these words fit perfect.  Added a few sequins that I got at our local scrap book store, some soft silk ribbon and this card is in the mail this am.  Challenges:

One Crazy Stamper - anything goes
Glitter n Sparkle - use ribbon
     Scrappers Delight - anything goes

May 19, 2015 Laugh

This card is all about using what I have/ what I hoard/and having fun.  I used this darling little penguin stamp from Great Impressions  (which I have had for a while but he had never seen ink).  Then I wanted something fun, summery, and colorful so started looking through my mountains of "old" pattern cs.  This is from Tutti Fruitti (TAC) and it just popped out at me.

Then I remembered some glitter tape (again which I was saving) and used it to add just a bit of sparkle.  Added some fun sequins and die cut "Laugh" and embossed it with a glittery embossing powder.  Fun card to make.  challenges:
     Sketch Challenge - follow sketch
Clear it Out - Green Things - glitter tape
Word Art Wednesday - anything goes
Not just cards - anything goes
Great Impressions - celebrate spring (ice cream)

May 16, 2015 with Sympathy

We all have occasion where we need a sympathy card as was the case for me about a week ago.  I had spent some time with my stamping BFF Donna and we both had new product to share.  I had just gotten the new ombre ink pad from Hero Arts and this one was in the greens (if you have not tried them they are awesome).  Using a stencil I sponged the ink with the stencil in place.  I think it makes a great background,.  I also had a new die - well new to me with this set of flowers and I decided to do my focal image in blacks with just a tiny pearl in the middle of each flower, another die cut with sympathy in black and this card was complete with no stamping.  These cards are difficult to send but I hope my friend got a little comfort from it knowing i was thinking about her loss.   Challenges:
     Deep Ocean Challenge - flowers
Crafting from the Heart - anything goes
     Happy Little Stamper - CAS

May 14, 2015 Tool Time

We have a very good friend that bought a 100+ year old home 2 years ago in the city and he has constantly got a "repair", remodel" or fix it up" project going on.  He is trying to restore the home to as much like the original as possible, his wife has done the research and then Jay is the executor.  and yes they are still married LOL.  He had a birthday recently and when I saw a card very similar to this in Card Maker Magazine I knew what card I was making him for his birthday.  I did a side step card where as the card in the magazine did a template and a cutter.  My friend Patti came over one am and when she left this card was sitting on my cabinet ready to sign and give to our friend.  Needless to say this card was the hit of his birthday party.  This is normally "outside of the box" for me but was very pleased in how it turned out.    People are asking how I did the tools, well all of the tools with the exception of the level are a die cut, the level is original handmade.

May 11, 2015 Friends

I have had this image for a while now and decided to color it up yesterday with some Inktense watercolors, - watercolors are such the in thing right now.  I do need to work on my skills.  This card reminds me of all the little coffee shops opening up their patios and people sitting outside for coffee or lunch with friends.  Challenges:

The Stamping Boutique - use a die cut
     Pennys Paper-Crafty - anything goes
