April 29, 2020 Sketch challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built it is the 5th Wednesday of the month so it is our sketch challenge posted above.

I recently got this Raggedy Ann and Andy image found here.  When I saw the sketch I immediately knew what image I was going to use.  This was so much fun to color (copic).  And I think it worked perfect for this challenge.  I purposely left a sentiment off as I was originally going to make it an anniversary card but changed my mind.  I think several sentiments would work on this - from Thinking of you to Just because.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of follow the sketch. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Follow the Sketch., you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

April 24, 2020 Meer kats in Boots

Is this not the cutest - I used a combination of stamps - the meer kats came from
SU The Gangs all here and the boots came from April Paper Pumpkin kit.  I have a little chemo boy and his favorite animal is the meer kat so I have been making up a few cards using this stamp set.  What a fun set to play with.  And the April Paper Pumpkin was absolutely the best.  I still have a few cards to make up with that set.

April 22, 2020 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Anything Goes.

I loved the bear stamp 1015-L Polar Bear Kisses and for my sentiment I used
1807-F I'm so glad and it did not photograph well as I embossed it - but the sentiment says I'm so glad there is you.  The bears I stamped on an icy blue card stock and fussy cut them out - used a white pen to go around the edges and then mounted them on some pretty snowflake silver foil paper.  I'm thinking  will save this and use it for an anniversary card - or ....

April 20, 2020 Technique Junkies Thanks

For the next four weeks over at Technique Junkies Facebook page - They are "giving" away a $50 gift certificate to use in their store.  I have several of TJ Junkie stamps so I started looking through them and thought SD742 Kitty Duo
would work fine.

Since I had no thank you sentiments I cut the Thanks out of gold shimmer paper, as well as the frame around the cats.  We were to decorate the envelope as well as make the card so I stamped a partial portion of the cats embossed in gold and then finished off with some narrow gold washi tape.

April 17, 2020 Triple Easel Free as a Bird

I am really enjoying making the triple easel card - instructions can be found on Pinterest or Dawns Stamping Thoughts (where I got my inspiration). Lots of scoring but easy to follow directions.
One of my best friends had a birthday this week so I made this card with her using SU Free as a Bird, colored with copics.  I should have put my pair of birds on the back easel up just a little but.....  This is almost like a little giftie in itself.  I fixed up a little birthday bag of goodies for her with some SU goodies that I got free during Salebration, including the stamping kit of cards (which sold out), the new stamp cleaner pad and then a gold wink of Stella pen.  We also had some "fresh goodies" from the garden so took her some fresh rhubarb, and a bag of home picked blackberries.  Had to leave it on her front porch and I went to the car and she came out on the porch.  Got to visit for at least few minutes.

I have one more triple easel I made but that is for another friends birthday so I can't post it just yet.

I have found if you have everything cut and layers together the process goes quickly.  Give it a try.

Challenges:
     Scor-Pal -more than one score
Cute Card Thursday - things with wings
     Patties Creations - Birthday

April 15, 2020 Photo Inspiration at The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House That Stamps Built our challenge is photo inspiration as seen below:

and here is my card:
                                         outside view of card

                                           inside of card

I choose to do a spring card - so for the outside of my card I used :
1703-J Birds Nest Branch - slipping the corner of this joy fold card under the pretty little corner in the top right.  The inside of the card is 1702-N Bird Song

I have seen this "corner fold" several time on Pinterest and thought I would see what I could come up with - easy peasy - I just couldn't decide on what DP to use on the card.  I finally came up with something I liked and then I needed at sentiment on the front  1301-F Happy Spring.

This one is already in an addressed envelope to be mailed out this week.

April 12, 2020 Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone - not the Easter we have always had with the kids hunting for Easter eggs, sunrise service, Easter service - (and most people get dressed up), big family dinner with ham, and of course deviled eggs.  (Have to do something with all those dyed eggs).  But we can live stream our church service on our devices, take pictures of the little people in their Easter clothes, enjoy a family Zoom get together and maybe just cut down on the big Easter dinner but still have the deviled eggs.

I made a couple of Easter cards for the kiddos in my life - using Gerda Steiner stamps that I borrowed from my friend Patti. The first 2 are Gerda Steiner, love her cute animal stamps.

April 10, 2020 Easter Cards

I have sent several Easter cards out this year - these are "adult" - I will post the kids in a day or two.

All of these Easter cards are made using retired SU stamps - but I still love and use them even though they are retired.

April 8, 2020 Tic Tac Toe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Tic Tac Toe - see below:

This is my creation - using Bunnies, Stenciling, and Dimension

I choose to use this cute image 1313-P Easter Friends with the sentiment
1303-E Hoppy Easter - I used the cute bunnies for the "bunny" requirement - I stenciled the dotted background and then I popped up the grass as well as the Hoppy Easter.  I still needed Easter cards to send to grand children so this should complete my Easter cards.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Tic Tac Toe So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. Triple Easel Little Ladybug

Yesterday was a dear friends birthday - so I wanted to make her a "special" card as we don't exchange gifties on our birthdays.  This is truly cased 100% from Pinterest - using this site.  Her instructions are always very detailed and easy to follow along, once you watch a couple of her videos you will be hooked.  She is fun - detailed orientated - and the cards are just too cute.

I used Little Ladybug stamp set - that was a free hostess gift with purchase during the salebration which ended a few days ago.  This was fun to color and even more fun to put together.  The only thing I would change is I would use the heavy watercolor paper like Dawn suggested to use (I used thick Whisper White from SU), and I made the second one using the watercolor paper for my base.

If you are going to send this in the mail it will cost 70 cents due to all the layers, but isn't a dear friend worth a little more.  There is room on the back of the card to write a message which I did.

I am anxious to come up with my own design using different stamp sets. I'm thinking butterfly stamps.

Enjoy and try your hand at making this triple easel card.

Hope everyone is safe and staying in as much as possible.  Take care.

April 1, 2020 Designer Choice April Showers

This week over at The House that Stamps Built, Heather has chosen for us to make our project April Showers (use something wet), either technique or image.

I choose to go with a spring theme and used 3908-I Celebrate Spring.  I thought it paired up really nicely with my die cut umbrella and rain drops.

I used some soft spring pastel colors for my flowers as well as my DP - and by using the umbrella I thought I needed some epoxy raindrops.

Challenges:
Crafting Happiness  - ATG - Weather
     Crafty Cardmaker - Spring
Fab "n" Funky - April Showers

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Designer Choice So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps.
