Funny or Snarky - The House that Stamps Built

Can not believe this is the last Wednesday in October - where has the month gone?  This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is to make a card with the theme of funny or snarky.  I think my card fits into the funny category.

I started building my card using the tape measure washi tape - again have had for a while.  Then went with the worm  and sentiment, 8410-F Inch by Inch.  I still thought it needed something else, I used 625-D Friday Afternoon  just for a smile.  Used some bold green floral paper and card has already been sent.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Feature a Critter.. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of  Funny or
Snarky.

Embossed Envelope Flap POTW The House that Stamps Built

This week is my week over at The House that Stamps Built  for the pick of the week.  I chose to share a really quick and easy technique that adds fun and that wow feature to the envelope of your card.  All you need are an embossing machine, embossing folders and a square back envelope.

With Christmas coming up I am thinking a few/most/some of us have started Christmas cards.  What a nice touch this will add to your envelope flap and talk about easy.

I used a full size embossing folder as well as a small narrow folder.  I was going through my embossing folders I saw several that will work for Christmas.  Use the sandwich that your machine recommends.

I usually decorate the front of my envelopes especially on my Christmas cards and I had the stamps that went with these two embossing folders I choose.

For the snowflake envelope I used 8914-E Snowflake solid small  and for the poinsettia envelope I used 2015-D Tiny poinsettia .

Play around with some of your embossing folders and I think you will be pleased with the results.

No Tricks just Treats - The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is no tricks just treats which can be a Halloween card or a treat holder.  I choose to go with a treat holder.

I have a die that I never have used before NBUS (never before used stuff), so I cut it out of Kraft paper to resemble a shopping bag (note the pinked edges at the top).  O then paper pieced  524-I Prized Pumpkin and die cut a leaf using the same paper, I then stamped 6512-E Everyday Blessings, on the leaf and stapled it on the handle using a tiny staple.  Tied a tiny orange ribbon bow on the other handle.  This is going in the mail today to my chemo buddy, her Halloween package which includes an assortment of Belgian chocolate pumpkins (Aldis), and a pair of pumpkin socks which fit nicely in the paper bag.  I think I will be making more of this bag for Christmas goodies.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of No Tricks just Treats. The House that Stamps Built - Feature a Creature

This week over at  The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Feature a Creature.  Well my creature selection is 4216-M Gray Wolf and for my  sentiment I chose a Born to Be Wild 9108-G with a bit of an alteration.  I just wanted the first line of the stamp so I carefully cut just that part from the second line.  This is the beauty of rubber stamps.

I stamped and heat embossed the wolf in black embossing powder and colored with copic markers.  Love how some of the fur looks brown although I used the same gray throughout.  I mounted him on two ovals - as you can see this design paper had large check on the front and small check on the back.  Used a little different fold in this one, the bottom of the ovals lift up for you to put a note and signature inside.  Again simple as I try to go with simple on my male cards.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Feature a Critter.. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Feature a Critter.

The House that Stamps Built- THINK PINK

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Think Pink, whether it be breast cancer related, or just a pretty pink card.  I choose to go with breast cancer as I send out a lot of chemo angel cards and always in  need of an inspirational  beast cancer theme.

I kept my card rather simple using some pretty pink floral design paper on a pink card base.  I have a cancer ribbon die so I die cut 3 and stacked them on top of each other for a little added height.  Some pretty pink punched glittered butterflies were next.  For my sentiment I used 8409-E Inspiration keeping my card along the simple theme.  Thought it needed a little something extra so I used a punch on the bottom of my pink floral paper and laced some pink and white bakers twine and tied a bow.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Think Pink So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Think Pink
