June 28, 2017 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is ANYTHING GOES, which is one of my favorite challenges.  I choose to do a pop and twist card.

and here the card is open

This is such a fun card to make (after I learned how to make the mechanism) and the possibilities for this card are endless.  I used two stamps from the Summer series:  Chill Out 9013D and Cool Treats 9008N and for the front of the card I
used  Happy Birthday 1113D.  For the front of the card I just cut a rectangle, rounded 3 corners, used a scallop punch edge for the "bite" and a small craft stick for the bar.  I had some ice cream treat ribbon that I tied in a knot around the small craft stick.  The inside ice cream treats are all paper pieced.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme of ANYTHING GOES  - the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discount coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

June 21, 2017 Photo Inspiration

This week at The House that Stamps Built is our photo inspiration

My card for this challenge was to create a beachy scene with my new oxide inks.
And what is more perfect for a quiet evening at the beach than  a bottle of wine to share with a friend or spouse.  I love this wine set Wine for Two 9507P paired with the sentiment Party 9610D.  I had some beach sequins that I recently ordered so they went perfectly with this scene.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge of the Photo inspiration.    - the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.

June 14, 2017 Tic-Tac-Toe House that Stamps Built

Add caption

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge of the week is Tic-Tac-Toe - which is one of my favorite challenges.  I choose to go with the right vertical using dogs, earth tones, and eyelets.  Since it was my week for the POTW which was the curtain card I choose to make another card with that technique.  I used 8105F Tail Mail and8117E A Dog Loves You .   I had the doggie paw print paper in my stash as well as the eyelets and dog paw print ribbon.  I already have this card ready to go out in the mail to one of my senior buddies.

June 12, 2017 - POTW of the Week - Curtain fold

Today over at The House that Stamps Built it is my Monday to do the Project of the Week.  For my project I choose to  do the curtain fold, which is a fun easy fold with a few cuts and a few score lines.
Supplies used :

White cardstock 4 1/4 x 11, pattern paper, coordinating cardstock to make curtain top, tape runner, cutting/scoring tool and stamps of your choice.  I choose to use
Soaring by to Say Hi 9104G and Hot Air Balloon Cluster 9116N.  I decided to cut apart my balloons in the Hot Air Balloon Cluster to get a little more versatility.

Measurements for cardstock and pattern paper.

This really is the only "tricky" part and it really isn't - on the short 3" side make a mark with your pencil at 1 1/2"  and on the long 6" side made a mark at 2 1/4"
Angle this in your cutter or make a line with your pencil and ruler from the 1 1/2" to the 2 1/4" and cut with scissors.  On the 6" side score at 2, 2 1/4,  3, 3 1/4,  4, 4/14, and 5, 5 1/4.  You will have 6 scored lines.  Start on the 2" score line make a valley fold, continue valley fold on the 3, 4, and 5 inch score lines.  On the 2 1/4, 3 1/4, 4 1/4 and 5 1/4 inch make mountain folds.
.

I used 1/8 inch score tape to hold the pleats in place taping all the way down the entire fold but you could also use a runner or glue.  It should fit perfectly on your 4 inch wide pattern paper.  I chose two coordinating design papers but it is your choice.  I thought the cloud paper went with the hot air balloon.

Finished Card

I kept this card simple with stamping the balloon and sentiment in blue with no coloring.  Hope you will give this a try.

June 7, 2017 Designer Choice - Use Washi Tape

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Designer Choice and Donna T. picked "use washi tape" in your project.  Well who doesn't have at least some if not a lot of the stuff?  I used several different patterns of my washi tape collection to go with the stamp God Bless Flag 3705-J.  I colored the stamp with markers, did some huffing and stamp it on a piece of white then mounted it on blue.  I had some cute little star gems that completed the card.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the challenge theme of use washi tape - the possibilities are endless for this challenge so hope to see lots of entries.
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

I choose to use this darling mermaid from ScrapNDipity Jewel of the Sea as I wanted to challenge myself with a fantasy mermaid and I thought it would work well with our photo inspiration.  First of all I had fun coloring her with copic markers, then trimmed her up so she would fit on my A2 card.  I used some shaded blue DP for my background and then went to work on my embellishments, what fun.  I used sea shells, died cheese cloth, die cut sea horses, rain drops, die cut anchor with cooper twine.
Here's your hop order.
