July 27, 2016 SKETCH CHALLENGE - THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

This being the last Wednesday of the month over at The House that Stamps Built we have a sketch challenge:

When I saw this sketch I knew which stamp from Repeat Impressions I was going to use -
Beach Time 4503-K - she is so much fun to work with and to color.  I stamped her on white cs, colored her with copic markers and then fussy cut her out.  I used a pre made tag from my "tag" box and using distress inks and inking tool - I colored it like a beach, then glued the little girl on.  I had the two ribbon embellishments for a long time - again in my stash and they worked perfect for this sketch.  I die cut FUN and the card was complete.  This is going to sweet great granddaughter Bella.

Hoping you will create a card over at The House that Stamps Built.  You don't have to use a REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamp but if you do you will an additional entry in the random drawing drawing for a a $25  REPEAT IMPRESSIONS gift certificate.  HINT:  Take a look over on my side bar and you will see a 10% discount on REPEAT IMPRESSIONS STAMPS.  We would love to see your creation.
Now go take a peek at what our Design Team teammates have created for this weeks challenge.

July 25, 2016 You Rock My World

I have had this card in my "finished stack for a while and finally "found" it so I could post.  This image comes from MHK Designs - a digi and I have it in my collection.  I think I am going to use it for my anniversary card to hubby.  This image came from Rock My World which comes with 4 great images and 3 sentiments.  I love using doilies - I just "forget" that I have them in my stash.  Colored with colored pencils - bg stenciled and a few enamel dots to add the finishing touch.  Cballenges:

July 22,2016 SELFIE

I'm so excited - no I didn't win money, no not going to be great grandma again - no I am excited about how well this "selfie" card turned out.  Last week on Splitcoast Stampers the tutorial was how to make a card using stamps into a selfie card.  The stamps are from Stampendous - Spring Short Stack love this set - came from Hobby Lobby - yep 40% off coupon. I bought it early spring and yes it was in my stash of stamp sets to use.  It has seven cute animal heads and body and accessories - so the possibilities are endless.  Colored the animals with copic markers, stencil the clouds in with a new stencil I bought last week at my favorite little stamp store in Kimmswick MO. called The Stamp Pad.  I picked up a pack of pastel precut card fronts with the square already cut over at Collinsville IL. at the Stamp Show two weeks ago, sentiment is from AMuse Studio and flowers from my stash.
Challenge - Word Art Wednesday - anything goes using a uplifting sentiment
Craft your Passion - anything goes
A Bit more Time - anything goes
AAA Cards - use something from your stash - stamp set
The Sisterhood of Crafters - animals

July 20, 2016 THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT - Photo Inspiration

Photo Inspiration

This Wednesday is "photo inspiration" Wednesday here at The House that Stamps Built and the above photo is the inspiration.  Well as you can see by my creations I choose to go with the STARS and a sentiment - Reach for The Stars 3105E from REPEAT IMPRESSIONS as it worked perfectly for the card and bookmark I made.

My youngest granddaughter is starting high school in just a couple of weeks - so I made this card and bookmark for her - she is in all honors classes and always sets her goals high.  Hoping this will inspire her to continue to be the best she can be.  As you can see by my card I did a new technique that one of our Rock Stars KATHY did a tutorial to show us the steps.  Well mine is not "perfect" but I think with some practice I will learn how to space them evenly and I love the end result.  The technique can be found here so  go take a peek and try one of your own.  I used grey and white and white and gray polka dots and then cut my star our of silver shimmer cs.  For my book mark I used gold shimmer cs - embossed the words in gold and then flicked some gold shimmer spray - just because I really like to do that!!!

Hoping you will create a card using our photo inspiration to enter our challenge over atThe House that Stamps Built.  You don't have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will get an added bonus of an additional entry in the random drawing for a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate. HINT - take a peek over on my side bar and you will see a 10% discount on Repeat Impressions stamps.  We would love to see you create something.

Now why not go check out my DT team mates and see what they have created.

July 17,2016 Bella and Friends

Is this little guy not the cutest - it is from SU new catalog and called Bella and Friends.  Well you me and my dogs so this was on my first order.  They also have a kitty cat set that is next on my wish list.  I colored him with Inktense Watercolor pencils and then this design was totally cased from a friend Chelsea that I got in a swap last year.  Love this design and it will work for more than just this card.  I made another one today to send to granddaughter for her recent accomplishment.
SU has their catalog online and have lots of stuff I "want" so will have to work on slimming down my list.

July 13, 2016 - IT'S A MANS WORLD - THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

This month it was my choice for the theme  over at THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT  - and I choose It's a Mans World - I sometimes have trouble with masculine cards - so I wanted to see what my team mates came up with for Man Theme cards.  I think you will enjoy what they have designed this week for you.

I chose    9120-M Harley   and 9115G Born to Ride  from BIG BOY TOYS from REPEAT IMPRESSIONS.   I embossed the Harley in black embossing powder for the shiny look as well as the sentiment.  Cut out the black borders on both the Harley and sentiment using  the Perfect Border Ruler which once I learned out which exacto to use I LOVE it.  I borrowed my friend Cheryl's great dies called gears and how much fun they were to use.  I also had some steel gear embellishments that I bought from our new Hobby Lobby store which is about a mile from my house (way to close).

Hoping you will create a card using our themed inspiration to enter our challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built.

July 6, 2016 COLOR CHALLANGE AT HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

GOOD MORNING

Already the first week of July - where is the summer going - very quickly this year.  Hope everyone had a great 4th of July this past weekend despite the weather here in Southern MO. it was still a good weekend.  The colors for this month challenge over at THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT are:

and here is the card I made using these colors:

This design was "cased" a while back from a card I had seen on pintrest and I loved the layout so went with it.  I used the sentiment from REPEAT IMPRESSIONS plate 10100 and the beautiful flower stamp is REPEAT IMPRESSIONS 10301-H and 10307-H from the Flower Power series.
This set has been so much fun to work with the the possibilitie sare endless of the creations you can make.  I used a cloud die from AMuse Studio- colored the blue with Ranger Distress inks and then put some glossy accents as dew drops here and there.  I really like the way this turned out.

July 4, 2016 4th of JULY card

Two more 4th of July cards - using the same theme with the tiny coffee cups from AMuse Studio - paper pieced and then the card decorated a bit with some scraps from a pack of stars/stripes paper that I have been hoarding.  AND!!!!I had a talented paper crafter Pam tell me how to use my perfect edge rules and cut a PERFECT edge everytime - as noted on the card on the right.  Can't use the retraactable exacto knife.  I have had the perfect edge rules for about 3 years and get so frustrated I would try and hide them - but in a few months get them out again.  Well now they have found a forever home on my desk.  Thanks Pam.

July 3, 2016 4th of JULY cards

I usually make "non-traditional" 4th of July cards and this one is no exception.  I have had my eye on this paper smooches art palette every time I would visit our local stamping store in Kimmswick so somehow it just hopped in my basket and I have already made 3 cards with this.  Easy Peasy - enamel dots for the colors, tinted the brush with some red ink and the sentiment is from the "closed" TAC stamp company.

July 2, 2016 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAUGHTER

Dear Daughter - my firstborn has a birthday coming up tomorrow  - so this is totally cased from the new SU catalog 2016 and love how it turned out.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks on my craft mat, did a wash in the blues, yellow, pinks, then washed some scrap cs with the same colors for my butterflies.  I used an AMUSE sentiment for the Happy Birthdy and this card is complete.  I already gave her her birthday  presents when we went to IN. in June - and then she and I went shopping so Mom added a bit more, so nothing but the card in this envelope.  Happy Birthday Dear Daughter -  you are an amazing daughter, wife, sister,  and Mom.  Happy Birthday.

July 1, 2016 HOUSE OF CARDS

This month over at The House of Cards we are having a challenge using the above colors or a summertime drink - I choose to go with both the colors and the drink (except for my small red heart)

I love this glass - and despite the olive in the drink I am thinking it is a lemon drop martini - which is about the only kind of martini that I really like.  Colored with my copic markers, a bit of yellow glitter on the rim (to look like sugar) a green glitter cut strip and again I used one of my favorite stencils as my background.  Sponged it in with green and yellow distress inks.

Come join us over at The House of Cards and join us this month in our fun challenge.
