Thinking of You

I just signed up to be a "special assignment" angel for Chemo angels which requires me to send more cards, notes and words of encouragement to some very special people. I love this set and it is so fun to color. A friends who was new to copics came last week and wanted some instructions on how to use her copics and this is one of the images we worked with. I love that the shading detail is already in the pitcher for you. I got a new nestie - labels 18 and banners and it worked very nicely on this layout. I ran the red cs through my Grand Calibur with the tulips plate and got such a nice impression. The thinking of You is "years" old and is also from TAC but is one I have hung on to because I love the script. Hoping this will bring a bit of sunshine to a special person who is dealing with a difficult time in their life.

Bird in a Cage

This cdard is made with a cute little set from Hampton Arts that I got at Big Lots for $2.00 - yes I said $2.00 - what a steal - I picked up a couple of different sets, they are clear stamps and had several cute images I knew I would use. I had won some Basic Grey Papers a while back and this was included in the papers. Perfect for this image. How much fun is this little bird in his cage and the chain is just too cute. I put some gold gel pen around the bird as he just wasn't standing out and then a bling at the top of the bird cage. No coloring on this one and it was a quick and easy card to put together.

Happy Fathers Day

This is the card I made for DH for "Fathers" Day. This card was from his fur babies - made by "MOM" (that would be me). He is such a good dad to all 5 (2 big girl dogs and 3 cats) of our fur babies. When I saw this image over at Doodle Pantry I knew I had to have it - it has several fishing images and DH is an avid trout fisherman. I colored the image with copic markers, and cut with nesties, made into a gate fold card. The stripped paper is from my scrap stash. He really enjoyed getting the card yesterday and the dogs got an extra long walk and the cats got some extra strokes last night as we were watching television. I am entering this in the Doodle Pantry Challenge Stock the Pantry Challenge #3.

June Blog Hop

It is time for our June Blog Hope over at PaperWings. This month the theme is CAS (clean and simple) as several of the angels will be leaving for the annual TAC seminar so we kept it simple this month. I case'd my design from Card Creations Volume 9 by Paper Crafts - this design was on the cover and I simply used TAC images. I colored the image with copic, as well as the bling colored with copic. I just love that you can color ribbon, bling, flowers with copic to match your design. This image Toodles is being retired when the new Inspiration Book comes out but we are looking forward to many new sets to replace those that are retiring. Why not hop on over and see what everyone else has come up with for their CAS card.

Fireworks Birdie

This little fellow is from Doodle Pantry and isn't he perfect for the 4th of July celebration or any celebration in fact? This is a digi image and I colored him with copic markers, and Atyou glittler pens then mounted him on a piece of red cs - punched stars out with a rounded corner/star punch. I used glitter star brads on the main focal image. I then used narrow strips of red line tape and applied red, gold and blue glitter lines which completed the feel of a celebration. This is an old technique which I had forgotten until my friend Pat used it on a recent card she posted. This will go to my chemo angel patient for the 4th of July.

TAC Favorites Blog Hop

This weekend over at TAC Savvy Blog we are posting our favorites - favorite stamp set, favorite technique, favorite retiring stamp set etc. My favorite is "EASY" and this card is nothing but EASY plus I used one of my favorite stamp sets Sew Thanksful T3288 and my favorite embellishment bling. Doilies are so in now - and these were purchased from WM in their cake decorating section - I think 1.99 for lots of them. I embossed the sewing machine in black, cut out with a circle nestie, cut out a black circle just a bit larger and mounted it all on the doily. My bg paper is FREE - downloaded from TAC - my saying is cut out with a nestie also and couldn't be a complete card with a bit of bling. Total time - less than 10 minutes and EASY!!!

Baby Card

I needed a "quick" baby card so i could get it in the mail like today so I used this simple design from Stamp TV - using a scallop circle nestie I embossed the circle but it did not cut thru the cs. I stamped the baby carriage from Just Bee Cuz (retiring soon) from TAC then placed the scallop circle for placement. A blue/black ribbon and a simple sentiment on top with 2 blue bling and the card was completed in under 10 minutes. Slip a Target gift card in the new card and off it went!! How easy peasy!!

Doily Card

Using a doily on your card seems to be popular now - (isn't it funny how trends go?). I saw this on Stamp TV - which is a really good site to get tons of ideas. Talk about a quick and simple under 10 minutes card this is it. I started with a yellow card base, layered with black, then printed downloaded (FREE) from TAC printed paper. On with the doily (and they are so reasonable in price), black circle and then stamped my Limited Edition Bloosoms and Blessings flower in Dandelion Memento ink and embossed with Transcendence Embossing Powder. Makes it pop a bit. I used circle nesties but you could use circle punches for the same effect. Placed some sheer ribbon with a thin silver cord on top and the word FRIEND (from the same set) on top. I added the cute little button bumblebee for a whimsy look. This card can be used for just about anyone or any occasion.
