Here are 2 quick cards I made for a workshop on this coming Sat. I wanted to show the guests how you can color with a marker directly on the stamp, vs. having to have so many different ink pads. I will let them have their choice of masculine or feminine again showing 2 different paper packs. Hope they like this project. I am also going to do a Valentine easel card.

Valentines Blog Hop

In the mood for some - hugs - well you will be by the time you finish our blog hop here at Paper Wings this evening. We have a lot of creative angels playing this month so just sit back and enjoy.
For my 1st valentine, I used a combination of 2 stamp sets Mini Occasions and I heart you, I scored 9 squares and a header then stamped the mini hearts in a tic-tac-toe fashion in Lamore Red, be my Valentine in the header and then pressed versamark over the entire image and use holigraphic embossing powder and heat set, mounted on our scarlet red then white. Now - drumroll please - my bow is sheer red with gold edges and I think it is almost perfect!!!
The second card uses my favorite combination of colors scarlet, white and our kraft cs. I cute the white frame using nestabilities label 1, ran a piece of scarlet using a cuttlebug embossing folder with hearts then a kraft circle punched using a cupcake punch from tonic, poped a red punched heart on top of the cupcake bounted on white. Sweets for my sweet seemed perfect for this card. And again a sheer bow imprinted with hearts. Continue this hop by going to:

Cuddly Critters

Needed a get well card for a friend at work plus I entered a color challange so this card held a dual purpose. Colors were pinkish rose, lt yellow and soft brown, these colors went well together and love the new Cuddly Critters which will be the Feb. SOTM offer. I used my nestabilities on this one and a ribbon brad flower to lace the ribbon through.

Easel Card

Easel cards seem to be very popular now and this one was fun and super easy. I used Fleur Birdies R2037 and Tiny tidbits TA3146 for my images. I ran the dk. brown cardstock V235, which worked perfectly with this card, through my cuttlebug using an embossing folder. I am so... glad we will be carrying some embossing folders starting Feb. 1. I used the new technique featured in our escape out of the box using the mega and giga scallop square punches, stippling a bit of color then stamping my image in the white space. How easy is that - color without coloring. Love it!!! Added a bit of MS ribbon that I had, and a button I found in my mothers old button box and a card is finished. I am doing a funshop the end of the month and I think this will be one of our make-n-takes. What do you think???

Dear Friend

Escape out of the box has given us one technique - not really new but this surely has a bit of a twist which was fun. I modified it a bit more (by error) as I stippled in color on the entire circle. Oops - but I think it still turned out okay. I made this a gatefold valentine and added a bit of bling to the valentine hearts and stamped the word love. A bit of gold highlighting and the card was done in under 10 minutes. How much fun is this.

Spring Flowers

A friend sent me a link to making the butterflies out of grossgrain ribbon so I thought I would give it a try this afternoon. With snow still on the ground and temps still in the teens I thought a spring card was in order. I used one of the sayings from the new Level A hostess set in the new Serendipity magalog (which I won for having $$ in sales). I used nestabilities to cut my oval sponged with some blue and green before stamping my image then colored with copics. The link to the ribbon butterflies is: here

Ducky Day

For lack of something better to call this set - I am calling it Ducky Day - this is one of the NEW images from the MRO line to debut in the new Serendipity magalog Feb 1This was so much fun to color and embellish with the buttons and bling. I colored with Copics, embellished with the Limeade mono buttons and some Hero Arts bling. I had a scrap of Tutti Fruiti paper which went well with all of my colors. A little Scor-Pal accent, punched circles from the Tutti Fruiti line and my card was complete. Love the saying with this set, it has so many cute Easter greetings.

Calendar

I guess I should have posted pictures of the completed calendar - here is a side view and a front view - requires 1/2 piece of black cs to make completed calendar, tied with ribbon to make a tent so it will stand up.

2010 Calendar

Every year I do a little desk calendar so when I saw Squirrely Girl this year in the Inspiration Magaloge it was just perfect for this project. I used the saying from a retired set called Its the Little Things which worked perfect. I colored with my Copic Markers which was so much fun and added a little extra embellishment with fun fur and glitter.
