September 30, 2020 Sketch Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is a sketch challenge.  If there are 5 Wednesdays in a month our last week is always a sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I was going to do.  First I was going to flip it.  Then using 9017-M Summer Clothes Line and Thinking of You 6103-J

I colored image with copic markers - put a couple of clouds in the sky, die cut an oval and then a layering oval.  I popped the oval with the focal image up with pop dots so I could get my clothes pens on.  The vertical Thinking of You "just fit".

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Sketch Challenge . Embossed Leaf

Good Morning, I think this is going to be our last "hot" day for a while as the temps are going to turn tomorrow.  I watched a video by Gina K. on how to emboss real leaves and I have been having so much fun with this.

I used a leaf from one of our trees in our back yard embossed in copper embossing powder and for my sentiment I used Technique Junkie Leaves Turn  which I thought was so appropriate for this time of the wear.  Hope you enjoy our beautiful fall weather.

September 23, 2020 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Anything Goes which is always a popular challenge.  I know it is one of my favorites.

I choose to go with an idea that I have had for a while.

sort of a play on words with the Just a Note 1112-E Just a Note sentiment.  I frst stamped the music background image 6806-U Sheet Music in black Versafine ink so I would get a nice crisp image.  Then I used 631-G Single Rose for my focal image.  I colored the rose with red marker and then the stem and leaves with green marker and then huffed before stamping.  Mounted on place scallop rectangle.  My sentiment was popped up on pop dots , did some dashes round the sentiment and then 2 small black gems.  This can be used for any occasion.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Anything Goes So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. September 16, 2020 - Inspiration Photo Challenge

Wow can't believe this month is already half over - soon the leaves will be turning their bright hues and we will be getting our jackets out of the closet.

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the photo below:

and here is my take on this challenge:

I used 8402-M which comes complete with the saying.  I enjoyed coloring up this pretty sunflower and love the smiley face in the flower center.  I mounted my sunflower on some pretty sunflower print paper, then mounted that on some blue/cream polka dot.  I had some pretty yellow doilies which I thought might add a bit of fun to this card.  Ready to go in the mail with a package full of sunshine for my chemo buddy.  My package will have all "yellow" goodies, lemon drops, a sunflower tea towel, yellow scrubby, yellow nail polish, and some "lemongrass" bar soap.  I love to put speciality  themed packages together for my chemo buddies.  Hoping it will bring a bit of sunshine to her day.

September 9, 2020 Tic Tac Toe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is one of my favorites - Tic Tac Toe.  Our challenge sheet is below:

Here is my card using the middle horizontal row.

I went with the ice cream 9008-N Cool Treats which is a set of 3 ice cream treats, I cut mine apart and just used the ice cream cone.  For my sentiment I used

I "water colored "the ice cream cone with distress oxide dyes, smooshing a bit of the color on my glass palette and thinning it down with water.  I painted a yellow halo around the ice cream cone.  I used stickles on the ice cream for some sparkle and glitter.  I popped up my ice cream cone panel for the dimension and added a bit of scor-pal work on the left side.

September 2, 2020 Designer Choice Challenge at The House that Stamps Built

This week over at  The House that Stamps Built our Rock Star Donna T. challenged us to make something using recycled item.

We have a cute little specialty shop in our bank called The Wise Grounds.  Well I love their lattes - especially their Almond Joy - coconut, chocolate, and hazelnut.  I used the sleeve from the cup holder to create a gift card holder with a gift card from The Wise Owl.

I cut the sleeve down a bit and then used 2613-H Baby Owl  and fussy cut it out.  I stamped the background with 9319-C Coffee Bean .  On the inside I had a slot for the gift card.  I used 9303 -P Thanks a Latte and made my gift card a Thank you card.  These gift card holders are very easy to make (good during the holidays) and I always try and keep Starbucks and Wise Owl gift cards in my stash.

This was a great challenge so why not go see what the other designers created.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of "Use a Recycled Item" So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps.
