The House that Stamps Built - Happy New Year

Can you believe that it is the last post for 2021 over at The House that Stamps Built.   Where has the year gone - another year with Covid, inflation, births, and losses.  Praying that 2022 will be better for all of us.

My last card for the year is to celebrate the New Years -

I kept it simple and used - 10615-I time to celebrate - and the image is from 3811-H champagne bottle.  I embossed both the sentiment and the image in gold - die cut 2022 with a number die cut set and then some gold splatters to add just a bit of bling to the card.  This was a fun and easy card to make - in fact I made a few more to send out to some friends to welcome in the new year.

Wishing you and your friends and family a Happy and Blessed New Years.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of  New Year ny possibilities   on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Happy New Year.

Favorite Technique - The House that Stamps Built

This final week before Christmas over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge was to use our favorite technique.

One of my favorite techniques is paper piecing so I used 905-L angel - and for my sentiment I used 6523-D Heaven and Earth
I had some pretty pink/green DP what I thought went very well with my angel so I used that to accent my focal image.  Have to add a bit of bling and what a pretty card.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of  favorite technique.  so many possibilities   on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of use favorite technique.

Using your Words - the House that Stamps Built

What a fun December this has been over at The House that Stamps Built  - having the option to make Christmas cards for all the challenges.  And here is another one - our challenge was to use words as the focal image so I used 2108-H JOY as my focal point with words.

I had a world globe die which I die cut and used as well all layered on world map DP, vs. Christmas DP.  I think it worked.  Great masculine Christmas card.  Well I couldn't stop with just one so I made another using 3814-K ornament stamped randomly on my white card, then 1141-F Christmas  was stamped in the middle of the ornament.  I cut the Merry Christmas in two so I could stamp the words vertical - but can always mount them together for horizontal.  A little red bling to dot the i in Christmas and colored the ornament with a gold pen. CAS - which is not usually my style.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of  Words as a focal point..  so many possibilities    challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Words as a focal point.

POTW Use pattern paper - The House that Stamps Built

I love pattern paper - well I guess I could be called a collector (or hoarder) of pretty papers.  Our challenge this week over at The House that Stamps Built is to use pattern paper.  My only decision was to decide which papers.

I used this pretty poinsettia stamp 2012-H Large Poinsettia  which I stamped and colored twice.  I fussy cut the flower out then just the top layer which is the layer I popped up using small pop dots.  Added two leaves 10315- Leave Outline Wavy under the poinsettia and for my sentiment I used 1141-F Christmas. I had two beautiful poinsettia papers that complimented each other, and if you look closely no bling on this one.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of  pattern papers.  so many possibilities   on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of use pattern papers.

POTW using scraps -The House that Stamps Built

Wow - December - and I'm still working on Christmas cards.  Here at The House that Stamps Built  we have several designers that love to use up their scraps - and I am one of those designers.  So my POTW is using up some of those scraps.  Since I didn't have Christmas cards done I went with a Christmas theme so lets gather the scraps and punch.

I even used a scrap to stamp my focal image - 2623-K Bear Banner.  This is a stamp I have had for a while and thought it would make a good Christmas stamp with the message stamped in the banner.  I stamped and colored the bear with copic markers and added some texture with a wash cloth.

I fussy cut the bear/banner out and chose a saying that would fit in the banner portion.  I used 8810-H Snow Much Fun - I arranged my punched out scraps on my colored layer.  I used some repositionable tape to hold them in place until I got an arrangement that I thought was eye appealing.  Then I used permanent tape runner to place them permanently.

I then popped up my Bear using pop dots, and a small bling in the small snowflake.  A few scattered snowflakes completed the card.

While I had the punch out I found some more traditional scraps and made another card using the same Bear Banner but a different sentiment 1105-E Thinking of You

So get out some scraps and a punch or die and make a couple of cards.

Non Traditional Christmas - The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is to make a card using non traditional Christmas card.  I have seen a few pink/orange combinations for Christmas and really liked the way it came out.  So for my card

I used 8905-I Snowflake Orb stamped on white card stock and then blended orange and pink oxide inks - If I was to make this again I would have put the blended inks on a piece of white card stock then stamped in a nice crisp black ink.  I have had a ad of water color papers that had pink and orange which I used for my layer.  I die cut a bow and the word joy and used them on my card as well.  Finished it off with pink and orange bling.  I may try and do another if I have time.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of non- traditional Christmas colors.  so many possibilities   on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of non traditional Christmas colors.

Black, white, and one other color challenge The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is to use black, white, and one other color.  I had something else in mind when I started but my card evolved to this:

I decided to use blue with my black/white card.  I stamped the 9116-N Hot Air Balloons all stamped in the same shade of blue, I then added some blue clouds using a cloud stencil and for my sentiment I used 6512-E Everyday Blessings so I could use this card for about any reason.  After stamping Everyday Blessings on a piece of striped black/white card stock I die cut the image out - then pop dotted the saying up.  A few blue bling on top of the balloon and card complete.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Black/white and one other color. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of  Black/white and one other color.

Fall/Christmas class

 Welcome, friends!

My friend Patti  and I had a workshop on Monday, October 25th. Here are the cards that we made:

What a fun card I had!  I love this fold, and will use it often.

This one is hard to see. Just got a new light box for taking pics, and can't get it to photo nicely, as the strip in the middle is gold metallic.
Here's another beauty from me- love, love love this!!!
When Patti
When Patti saw this fun fireplace die set at My Favorite Things last month, I had to have it! Added some 'wallpaper', 'baseboard', a wreath & bow, 'gray floor', and some trees, to finish off this cute card.
Here's another card that uses some metallic papers. Wish you could see it in real life - SO gorgeous!
This is a Pinwheel Tower card. It was fun designing all four sets of 'pages'.

Use a Border - The House that Stamps Built

November is really flying by quickly.  This week over at The House that Stamps Built  our challenge theme is to use a border or border stamp.  Here is my card:

I needed a sympathy card - and just didn't have any in my stash that I liked so I made a new card using 1505-N Rose Border, 4025-F With Deepest Sympathy , and for the inside I used 4013-H Those we Held verse.  The flower I choose to use was 631-G Single Rose .  I went with red/gold for my layers - the gold embossed so beautifully on the red layer - for the sentiment I used With Deepest Sympathy on a white diecut panel again embossed in gold.  On the inside along with my sentiment again everything embossed in gold I used the single rose in the corner as well as on the lower left hand side of my envelope.  I like the simplicity of this card and the beauty the gold embossing brings out.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of use a border  So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of  Use a  Border.

Use your Fall scraps - The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is to use up our fall scraps of paper.  I tend to save all of my scraps - even the small scraps so I laid them out and decided to go with a sunburst card.

I am really pleased how the colors and patterns went together for this card.  I had not made a starburst card in a really long time so it was a fun challenge.  I decided to use 1140-E Happy Thanksgiving and then to make 514-I Prized Pumpkin as my focal image.  I colored it with my copic markers and another Thanksgiving card ready to go in the mail.  Now I need only 8 more!!!

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Use your Scraps So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of  Use your Scraps

Thankful for Fall - The House that Stamps Built

This week - is already the first week of November - where oh where has the time gone?  Over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is thankful for fall.  Well since I needed a few Thanksgiving cards I decided to go with Thanksgiving theme.

I had a "lot" of kraft cardstock cut - (for another project - but cut incorrectly)  so I decided to use Kraft for a couple of cards for fall.  My inspiration challenge uses stamps 3312-E Maple Leaf 3313-E Oak Leaf 3306-I Falling Leaves and for my sentiment I used 1140-E Happy Thanksgiving.  I found my box of K-pad ink pads so I opened the autumn one and it was still nice and juicy.  I fussy cut my oak leaf and maple leaf  to use as accents.  One card made and "several" to go.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Thankful for Fall.. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Thankful for Fall.

Funny or Snarky - The House that Stamps Built

Can not believe this is the last Wednesday in October - where has the month gone?  This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is to make a card with the theme of funny or snarky.  I think my card fits into the funny category.

I started building my card using the tape measure washi tape - again have had for a while.  Then went with the worm  and sentiment, 8410-F Inch by Inch.  I still thought it needed something else, I used 625-D Friday Afternoon  just for a smile.  Used some bold green floral paper and card has already been sent.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Feature a Critter.. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of  Funny or

Embossed Envelope Flap POTW The House that Stamps Built

This week is my week over at The House that Stamps Built  for the pick of the week.  I chose to share a really quick and easy technique that adds fun and that wow feature to the envelope of your card.  All you need are an embossing machine, embossing folders and a square back envelope.

With Christmas coming up I am thinking a few/most/some of us have started Christmas cards.  What a nice touch this will add to your envelope flap and talk about easy.

I used a full size embossing folder as well as a small narrow folder.  I was going through my embossing folders I saw several that will work for Christmas.  Use the sandwich that your machine recommends.

I usually decorate the front of my envelopes especially on my Christmas cards and I had the stamps that went with these two embossing folders I choose.

For the snowflake envelope I used 8914-E Snowflake solid small  and for the poinsettia envelope I used 2015-D Tiny poinsettia .

Play around with some of your embossing folders and I think you will be pleased with the results.

No Tricks just Treats - The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is no tricks just treats which can be a Halloween card or a treat holder.  I choose to go with a treat holder.

I have a die that I never have used before NBUS (never before used stuff), so I cut it out of Kraft paper to resemble a shopping bag (note the pinked edges at the top).  O then paper pieced  524-I Prized Pumpkin and die cut a leaf using the same paper, I then stamped 6512-E Everyday Blessings, on the leaf and stapled it on the handle using a tiny staple.  Tied a tiny orange ribbon bow on the other handle.  This is going in the mail today to my chemo buddy, her Halloween package which includes an assortment of Belgian chocolate pumpkins (Aldis), and a pair of pumpkin socks which fit nicely in the paper bag.  I think I will be making more of this bag for Christmas goodies.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of No Tricks just Treats. The House that Stamps Built - Feature a Creature

This week over at  The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Feature a Creature.  Well my creature selection is 4216-M Gray Wolf and for my  sentiment I chose a Born to Be Wild 9108-G with a bit of an alteration.  I just wanted the first line of the stamp so I carefully cut just that part from the second line.  This is the beauty of rubber stamps.

I stamped and heat embossed the wolf in black embossing powder and colored with copic markers.  Love how some of the fur looks brown although I used the same gray throughout.  I mounted him on two ovals - as you can see this design paper had large check on the front and small check on the back.  Used a little different fold in this one, the bottom of the ovals lift up for you to put a note and signature inside.  Again simple as I try to go with simple on my male cards.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Feature a Critter.. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Feature a Critter.

The House that Stamps Built- THINK PINK

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Think Pink, whether it be breast cancer related, or just a pretty pink card.  I choose to go with breast cancer as I send out a lot of chemo angel cards and always in  need of an inspirational  beast cancer theme.

I kept my card rather simple using some pretty pink floral design paper on a pink card base.  I have a cancer ribbon die so I die cut 3 and stacked them on top of each other for a little added height.  Some pretty pink punched glittered butterflies were next.  For my sentiment I used 8409-E Inspiration keeping my card along the simple theme.  Thought it needed a little something extra so I used a punch on the bottom of my pink floral paper and laced some pink and white bakers twine and tied a bow.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Think Pink So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Think Pink

The House that Stamps Built - CAS

The last week in September already - the months are flying by.  I don't do CAS very well so this was truly a challenge for me over at The House that Stamps Built.

This is about as clean and simple as they come from me.  I went with a cute stamp 4512-F Lg. Rubber Stamp and 1912-H So Many Stamps  which is so true in my case.  I have been going through "some" of my stamps and getting rid of the ones that I don't use anymore or that are retired.

I used versafine black ink on both my stamp and sentiment - and then embossed with black embossing powder.  Really makes the stamp stand out.  I thought it still needed just a little something more so I went with a cute black/white check ribbon and tied a bow.  Card finished.  CAS!!!

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of CAS. So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of CAS
