July 29, 2015 Ewe are Sweet

Have a request for a little girl that needs some cheering up and I think this little lamb from Gerda Steiner is just so sweet especially with a little bit of fun fur on his head.  I had some Burlap Paper that I guess I was "hoarding" and the color was perfect for this card - it is difficult to cut and would not go through my cuttlebug but I made it work.  some sweet little heart buttons and a bow and this card is ready for the mail box.  Challenges:

July 25, 2015 God be with You

This image is the last one left in "one" basket of images to make cards.  I think this stamp is so pretty - I spent the day stamping with a BFF Donna and she had this image in her "new stamp" basket.  We colored and then spritz with water.  The banner is from Our Daily Bread and it is a banner and has 5 different sayings you can put in the banner.  I cut it out and popped it up with foam dots. Again I flicked some gold splash on the image for added interest.    There was several special requests for chemo angels the past week so this one is in the mail.

July23, 2015 Welcome Baby

I am so happy with the way this card turned out - it is a Z-fold card but stands upright.  The card is held in place by a large brad for mailing and then stands upright for display.   My granddaughter is having baby #2 - a little boy and her BFF is having a "Baby Sprinkle" - note not a shower.  A sprinkle is just for the smaller things that you might need for a second baby and in this case she already has a girl so he will need little boy clothes.  I got him a three piece set with a onsie, pants and a t-shirt and it had a tiger and the words Lil-tiger on the shirt, so I thought this would be perfect.  The image is from Doodle Pantry - pre-colored and ready to go, the DP is also from Doodle Pantry and goes so well with this image.  Added some sequins and a black ribbon and this card is ready to go in the giftie.     Challenges:
The Paper Shelter - anything goes
     Creative Moments - anything goes
Frilly and Funkie - raise it up

July 21. 2015 - Cutesy Giraffe

I have been on a giraffe kick - and realized I had several from which to create with.  I have also been loving to play with my watercolors (after watching several videos).  and there is something about giraffes that just make me smile.  I ran across the sentiment in another set I had but thought it fit this card very well.  Going to my stash I found some cute little pop up flowers from K and Company that I just had to have - so use what you have is my goal!!!

July 20, 2015 Mouse Challenge

Is this little guy not the cutest - he was a giveaway over at Gerda Steiner and there was a little challenge to go with this darling creation.  I decided to color him with copic markers and then paper piece his overalls and balloon.  I now have two sets of Gloria Steiner sets in my collection and would love to have them all.  Challenges:

July 19, 2015 A Happy Hello

Another image I found in my box that I had colored but not put together yet - so off to search the right cs and dp to go with this darling little girl.  I colored her up with copic markers, die cuts from spell binder and the sentiment from TAC.  I recently got some white copic paint and wanted to use it on this image, note the little white dots on her cheeks and the white on her shoes.  I did this with a fine point stylus.  I'm not sure how well I am going to be with a paint brush and this paint as it is a little thick but the stylus worked great.     Challenges:
     Di's digis  - Hand colored
     Brown Sugar challenge - girly
Send a Smile 4 Kids - bright colors

July 17, 2015 Blessings

I have had this stamped image in my pile for a while - did it with markers and spritzed the colors so it looks watercolored.  I finally got to the stack that needed put together and picked this one up and saw a bookmark.  Found some subtle strips that went well with the bookmark made a slit in the strips from corner to corner so my bookmark would fit.  Still needed a bit of something so out came some new dies by Memory Box - beautiful lacy butterflies and I think this completed the card.  Here is the bookmark with cutout word Blessings.

This one is on its way to my senior lady.  I have had her for almost 2 years and sometimes I have to get creative with things to send her.  You can never have too many bookmarks (unless you have a Kindle or Nook).  LOL     Challenges:

July 15, 2015 Just for You

What a fun Saturday at the RubberStamp Expo in Collinsville.  Saw lots of friends, took lots of pictures, came home with lots of new and creative ideas, and lots LESS $$$.  This is just one of the stamps I bought - Ocean Grass by Creative Vision.  I thought this stamp looked so serene and peaceful and I saw lots of possibilities for using it.  I sponged distress on my w hite cs, stamped my image then took AMuse gold splash and just flicked on some gold for added interest.  It doesn't show up much but I did the same on the doily.  Had to add a touch of bling so added the brown, and tan pearls.  This card is off in the mail tomorrow.  Challenges:
     Sketch Saturday - follow sketch
Crafty Sentiments Design - anything goes
Crafting from the Heart - anything goes
Use your stuff - anything goes - used pearls and doily that I have had for a while

July 13, 2015 Lightbulb Hello

How many times do you get to the check out at your favorite stamp store and they have these darling little $1.99 or you get a little giftie from a crafty friend.  One day last week I decided to put all of those cute little stamp sets in one drawer so I could find them easily.  I love this light bulb stamp - has minimal coloring but still has a wow factor.  I used some wink of stell pen for some shine and glimmer and then went on a hunt to find the right color bling.  I had no deep blue bling so got a copic marker and made my own - the secret to this is to let them dry completely before touching which I sometimes loose patience and want that instant cuteness.  I love polka dots and I have quite a selection of colors so love how this one all came together.  Challenges:
Always something creative - blue and white
Use your stuff - I used a stamp set I had had for a "long" time
Love to scrap - use three embellishments

     Card Mania - anything goes

July 10, 2015 Kitty

Is this little guy not the cutest - playing with his ball of yarn?? One of my besties made me a sympathy card when my middle kitty Nikki passed last summer and she had crocheted a darling little heart and attached it to the front of the card so I "cased" this idea but did not crochet the ball.  I wrapped bakers twine around a circle.    He is from Gerda Steiner and I am so loving her stamps.  they are clear and stamp beautifully.  Also  this fold that I have made before but again it is such a fun one to play with.  Can't wait to order another set from this great designer.  Challenges:

July 8, 2015 Warm and Fuzzy

Had a special request re a chemo patient that had some surgery and she liked teddy bears so I knew exactly which Doodle Pantry digi image I was going to use.  This image was precolored but I added some shading with watercolors to the cute little bear just to bring out some highlights.  I love the fact that a lot of Doodle Pantry images comes with special designer prints to go with the image and as I was going to enter some challenges with this image I used 2 of the papers.  A polka dot button and some bakers twine and the card is ready to go after I write a note inside.  Challenges:

July 4th Holiday Spools

This is "one" of my favorite out of the box 4th of July cards this year - these are spools from Great Impressions - paper pieced with the matching dp I used to make the frame, a bit of ribbon and three little stars to add some bling.  I think it turned out really cute and despite that it is really not a 4th stamp I made it work for this occasion.   This is  my favorite stamp from Great Impressions because it is so versatile - I have used it for a St.Patrick's card, a thinking of you card, and now the 4th of July card.  The spools are a blank canvas!!! I had some left over scraps from a sunburst card I had made and decided to use it on this card - another non traditional card but I have a chemo buddy that likes butterflies so I like how this turned out with placing some punched butterflies and sequins randomly.  Hope she enjoys.

This is the card and cute little towel I sent to my daughter for the 4th.  I LOVE this set from AMUSE studio We all Scream which comes with 3 stamps and 3 matching dies.  When I finished with the card it still needed just a little something extra so I put some bling on the eyes and that was the finishing touch.  Hope daughter enjoys.   Challenges:
