March 23, 2015 Easter Bunnies

What a fun card to make - love these little Easter Bunnies from Great Impressions - and they are even cuter if you add a fluffy tail.  I colored these bunnies in a "neutral" color so I could mix and match papers.  I did some stitching around the banner so it would match the stitched oval of the bunnies.  Three ribbon tags which match the pastel paper and a Happy Easter sentiment.  Challenges:
     Sketch Saturday - follow sketch
     Scrap Creations - pastels
     Little Claire  - springtime
     Sassy Studio - anything goes
Crafting for all Seasons - pastels
     Great Impressions - going Green

March 20, 2015 Giraffe Smile

When we get special requests from chemo patients needs an extra bit of encouragement they give us just a little bit of information, favorite colors, favorite animal, etc. and seems like there are a lot of people (both adult and children) that love giraffes.  This is an old image from TAC (retired) but I have hung on to those tried and true sets from my TAC days.  Again another easy card - with the age of die cuts it is fairly easy to put together a cute card especially if you have some die sentiments like this smile.  This one is already on its way and hopefully will add just a bit of sunshine to someones day.

March 17, 2015 Thank You

I am having so much fun playing with this set from SU called Lotus Blossom - I think it simply has endless possibilities.  I created several different color combinations this morning while I was playing and the shades of yellow just said SPRING to me.  I usually don't make a lot of thank you cards especially with the internet, facebook, and texting hand written thank you notes seem to be almost a thing of the past.  But I needed one to send out to a friend and this one was so easy once I got my colors that I wanted.  I can see a lot of cards going out using this stamp set.  Challenges

March 15, 2015 St. Pat's Day

Thought and thought about what I could make up for a child for St. Patricks Day - then I thought why does it have to be traditional so I used this "retired" TAC stamp of zoo creatures and stamped him in green, green, gingham cs from AMuse Studio, some satin ribbon and some green candies bling and this card is in the mail.  Sometimes we just have to think out of the box.  Challenges:

Crafts Galore Challenge - anything goes
Dies R Us - Shades of green

March 5, 201 Happiness Blooms Birthday

I am really loving the new set from AMuse Studio special for March Happiness Blooms.  Plus I got a "new" set of water colors, the Peerless Transparent Watercolors also carried by AMuse Studio - these are small 2 x 2 swatches of transparent watercolors and they are so much fun to work with.  Talk about portable - a ziplock baggie and a water brush plus your image and you are good to go just about anywhere.  As you can see I need "practice" but as this was my first attempt I had to share.  I love tulips and you can make tulips just about any color so I went with blends of purple and a blue vase.  I attempted to do a "wash" in yellow but really didn't accomplish the look I wanted but....This card sketch was totally cased from Stamped Blessings Chris Franco a fellow AMuse demonstrator.  She has so many great ideas.  Anyway depending on how long this last snow sticks around will be my time manager for playing in my craft studio.

March 2, 2015 Spool Trio

The snow is at least 6 in. deep - and here it is March.  So ready for spring here in MO.  I decided to fill my afternoon with some creativity and make a couple of cards and then I need to write some notes to put in my chemo buddies cards for this week.  First let me explain why I choose this - the theme over at Great Impressions  is Go Green - well I happen to love Great Impressions stamps and have several in my collection -ok more than several...there is a cute little stamping store in Kimmswick MO that carries Great Impressions and when I shop there I head for them first.  I had a frog, I had flowers but I decided to do these darling spools of thread.  Colored the spools with copic markers and then paper pieced the "thread" in a variety of green papers from a paper pack from DCWV that my friend Donna gave me a couple of years ago.  I love double sided paper packs and this pack is double sided.  I then decided to go with the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  Challenges:
     Great Impressions - Go Green

Word Art Wednesday - anything goes
613 Avenue Create - anything goes

March 1, 2015 Happiness Blooms

Love my new set from AMuse Studio called Happiness Blooms - it is a vase of tulips and 4 sentiments - plus you can order a die set to go with this set which consists of two dies - I have used both dies here - one to cut the tulips and vase and then one which die cuts the vase only.  I colored my tulips with copic markers, then paper pieced the vase with papers from a pad of papers in my stash (which I am on a mission to use) and the paper pad is from My Minds Eye - double sided papers which again I really love to work with.  My basic cardstock is from AMuse studio, as well as the sequins and bling.  I know sequins are so popular now and I have to remind myself to use them more often as I do like the look.  This is off in the mail tomorrow to a chemo buddy that needs a little extra dose of sunshine this week.
