Pot of Gold Challenge

Over at The Angel Company there is a Pot of Gold Challenge in which we had to use several elements including stitching, a punched shape, ribbon, button/bow or brad, the color green and layers. For my card I used Sew Thankful, stitching on each side of the first layer of my card, I used 4 layers, the top layer is punched with an oval punch, the color green, ribbon is woven through the holes in the nesties die cut, and I used 2 layers of flowers held in place with a brad. I think I have met all the elements of this challenge which was fun!!! Please go to The Savvy Blog and check out all the fun projects.

Savor the Sweetness

I made this card for my daughter who will be going to a Walk to Emmaus - I heard from her sponsor and was requested for cards/letters so that while DD is at the retreat she would receive these letters/cards. I made her 2 cards - one which I posted for the Spring Blog Hop just a day or two ago. This one I made with a versatile set called Savor the Sweetness - it had the perfect images and I chose the one with the sunshine. I made a gatefold card and DP from Heidi Grace - colored the image with copics (I just took the beginner copic certification this past weekend in St. Louis). I cut it out with nesties 19 and covered up an oops with a pretty little flower with a butterfly perched on the flower. Oops aren't mistakes just opportunities to add embellishments!! I hope she enjoys getting her special cards while she is there.

Spring Blog Hop

We are having a SPRING blog hop over at Paper Wings this evening and I know a lot of people are so ready for signs of spring, warm weather, sunshine, blooming flowers and the birds setting up their new homes. For my projects I did a card - which I cased a "long" time ago from Julie Robinson. It is a pocket card and I used a flower packet to insert in my pocket, I used Catelynne DP which went so well with my focal image from Springtime Garden. I colored my image with Copic markers, cut out with nesties label 4. I had some of these cute spiral clips from a long time ago and decided it complemented the project. For my boxes I used a pattern from SCS called Gable box - these were so much fun to make. I used More Mimi and Miss Moxie DPs to make my boxes which need an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. Scores, and folds and magic a cute little box. I put Easter grass in them - chocolate bunny rabbits in one and will put chocolate in the other one also. I made a rosette to put on the Miss Moxie box and a flower on the More Mimi box. Loved making both of the embellishments they were so much fun - almost therapeutic. Hop on over and see what the other players have created to put you in the mood for spring.

Book Mark

A couple of weeks ago I participated in a bookmark swap with a group that one of my BFFs got together. I used a "new" image from Hero Arts as the chair looked like you could just curl up and read all day, well I needed some lighting so I put the chandelier over the chair not realizing the crow sitting there so I put the shadow around the chandelier just "for fun". The saying is from TAC Toodles - I cut apart and just used the I'm here portion and it really looks cute in a book. With the shadow around the chandelier and crow it almost has a Barb Foster feel about it - LOL.

Going Green

This week over at The Angel Company Savvy Blog there is a "Going Green" creative selection. We could either re-purpose something or make something green. I choose to do both although my photo did not turn out very well, think it was my lighting, but I took a small lunch box size can of diced fruit, and opened the bottom lid with the can opener (Pampered Chef has a very nice one), which does not leave any sharp edges. Rinsed the can and let air dry then covered the can with a strip of green DP from Lilly Anna then Easter popped in my mind as I wanted to fill it with treats to send my Chemo angel patient so I colored the cute little bunny from I Love Easter (notice her cute little pink flocked tail). I used some pop dots and put her on the can, on the top I used a tag from the DP and stamped for somebunny special and tied some bright scrappers floss around the pull tap and tag. I filled with some wrapped (we can't send homemade or loose unwrapped candy like jelly beans) candies and glued the bottom back on the can. These are so easy and fun to make and I am hoping it will put a smile on her face when she gets her Easter box.

Corner Bookmark

I was "cleaning" out some scraps today and came across a 4 x 4 piece of velvet embossed cs from DCWV - I almost pitched it in my waste basket and thought no I think this would make a cute bookmark. I found the instructions on Bob's web site and then I added the ribbon on my own. It still needed just a little something more so I embossed a small flower from a retired set Fanciful Flowers (which was one of my favorites) and put it on the front.

Purses

These darling little purses were a "special" in January I believe - you got 2 stamp sets plus DP, and since Mabelle was the designer I thought I needed them!!! Besides purses are big right now. This card is for a friends birthday - and yes she loves purses - I paper pieced all three of them, then added a big of bling to each individual purse. It was so much fun to bling up each purse. I then cut them out with labels 10 which I love. Now the problem is I can't remember what this retired dp is called but it worked perfect for this card. I hope my friend likes her special card.

Seeing Shamrocks

Today is the last day to share our Shamrock cards over at TAC. Once I got out some stamps I realized I could put a wagon full of shamrocks from Mini Sampler (retired) in the hedgehogs wagon - set is a hostess set called Hedgehog Happiness. What a fun set this has been - and what fun it was to fill this wagon with good luck shamrocks. Again I used my stampa-ma-jig to place the shamrocks (as well as masking) in the wagon. I colored the images with copics, used the greeting from Trendy Greetings, stamped the shamrocks in giverny green palette ink to make my bg paper, a bit of green ribbon, and of course a bit of extra on the wheels. Mounted on the extra piece of Patch cs I had left from yesterday.

Shirley Hotop

This weekend is a fun blog hop over at TAC Seeing Shamrocks. I started my mission to find a shamrock among my collection of TAC stamps and came up with the shamrock from a retired set Mini Sampler, Date Discs (which is current) and my sentiment is from a hostess set called Blessings to You. Using my stamp-a-ma-jig I place the shamrock in the center of the March disc, colored them with copics, punched them out and popped them onto a circle of Catelynne paper ( perfect match). The blessing I also popped up and added just a wee bit of bling to the top of the sentiment. It still needed something else so I took the shamrock stamp and some versamark and random stamped the shamrocks on V397 Patch cs. I do have a bit of Irish in me - my mother was a "O" Casey, my dad was Scot. What fun this hop was to figure something out using what I already had. Love to be challenged.

OLWs Christmas

I have admired these one layer cards so often and just didn't like what I came up with. I have often seen a bare tree with a single red bird done up for a Christmas card also and started searching through my "huge" collection of stamps. In fact the set I used was in my "for sale" box but after playing with it it is back on my shelf. I think I like the birds in flight from Hope Perches I used burnt umber palette for the tree and a lady bug memento ink for the birds. I tried to change each one up a bit - so let me know which one is your favorite.

Teddy Bo

This cute, adorable little girl bear is from Teddy Bo printed out and colored with copic markers, . I did not like the cs I used to print her out on therefore I did not get real good shading on her purple dress. I have trouble shading purple anyway and the cs didn't help. I used a fancy oval nestie and wove some sheer purple through the holes, tied in a little bow at top. I colored little cotton pom-poms on her hat with pink copic and glued them onto the bottom of her hat strings. A couple of pearls on her hat brim, sentiment hello there from TAC and what a cute card. I think I am going to have to get a couple more of these images.

Springtime Garden

Today over at TACs Savvy Projects Blog the theme is ANIMALS - and we had had quite a selection already up. I am so ready for spring that I chose these 2 darling bunnies from Springtime Garden - very simple - embossed with white embossing powdered, cut out with oval nestie - left in nestie and stippled lavender palette inside, I then took a soft paper towel and rubbed the ink off the white embossing powder. It needed a bit of color so I colored the flowers with Atyou glitter pens which I love. Pounted on varying sizes of nesties ovals and scalloped ovals, tied a purple satin ribbon and used a darling pearl embellishment from Gem Collections on page 117 of the Inspiration book. For the background paper I used printed from a dear angel Christine so go visit and pick up so beautiful springtime/Easter backgrounds.
