June 29, 2020 POTW - Inchies

This week my POTW for The House that Stamps Built is a Blast from the Past.
Who remembers "inchies" - from several years back??  Well this week I will be using a variety of Repeat Impressions stamps to make some inchie cards.

The tools and supplies are simple, a punch, die, or a simple cutter and some cardstock along with stamps is all you need to bring the inchies back.

As I was going through my Repeat Impressions stamps I saw so many that I could use for this technique/style but I kept it to 4 plus sentiments.

My first card is a traditional inchie - using a stamp with the focal point in the middle of my inch square.  I choose 4516-C Teacup and stamped it in a pretty shade of blue, then mounted it on a couple of layers 2 solid and 1 print.  Background paper in pretty shades of blue - and I still thought it needed something else, so a row of die cut lace.  This is a square card so extra postage would be needed to mail this one.

For this one I chose to do circle inchies - and the 9309-C  Tiny Cupcake and 1113-D Happy Birthday for my sentiment.  I cleaned out my ribbon box this past weekend and found this extra wide cupcake ribbon that I thought would work perfectly with the cute little cupcakes.  I embossed the cupcakes in three different colors added a little enamel bling on each cupcake and then mounted it on a matching color.  For my background I had a pad of "watercolor" wash DP so I went with that for my card.

For this one I used 4511-I Kite  and 6520-C Dream Big    I stamped the kite on a small piece of white card stock then again on plaid.  I paper pieced  just the kite and used an inch square punch to punch out just the kite.  I then stamped the entire image on a rectangle white card stock and mounted the paper pieced inchie on top.  I really like how this one turned out - love the colors.  Got my grandkids kites this spring and they loved them.

For my final selection I used 2413-H California Light House as my focal image, and 1112-E Just a Note.  I stamped the lighthouse in navy and very carefully with my inch punch I divided it up into 3 sections.  I then mounted those pieces on navy die cut piece.  Just a note used another punch and I mounted that sentiment on navy as well.  I choose a nautical theme background to mount this on.

If you follow me - watch for the July Tic Tac Toe to see one more inchie I made for the TTT challenge.

Go through your Repeat Impressions stamps and see all of the images that will work for this oldie but goodie technique or style.  This was a really fun one to showcase this week.

June28, 2020 Technique Junkie - Summer Challenge

This is the third and final week of the TJ summer challenge.  I loved this May 2020  release Hangin with my Gnomies and with the 4th of July coming up I ordered the gnomies with the thought in mind to make a 4th of July card.  After playing with this paper pieced card I can think of all kinds of adaptions I can use this stamp for.  Here is my 4th of July creation.  Made an envelope to match.

June 25, 2020 New Cards

I had a few minutes to play with a couple of sets that I have not used before.

This is my daughters birthday card for this year which is next but she doesn't follow my blog so no worries that she will see it. I love the way my birds came out as well as my pretty pink sheer bow.  I am not the best bow maker but this one turned out beautifully.

This next one is for great grandson 2nd birthday which is in July .  On their second birthday I always enclose a $2.00 bill as a keepsake.

While I had the Birthday Bonanza out I decided to make a couple more cards.

All three of these cads are using SU products, which I really enjoy using,

June 24, 2020 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is: Anything Goes

which you can let your imagination go crazy wild like I did or more refined.  I used Zebra and Frame 5303-M.  I stamped the entire image in black -  just for the zebra image.  Then I stamped again on some wild and crazy "zebra' print paper that I thought just made this fun.  I cut just the frame out on this one.  (so versatile),  and then all I used the a sentiment I used   3923-E Whatever so I could use this card for any occasion that needs a little boost of fun.  I did several layers using this wild and crazy paper which I have had for a really long time. I then decided to make an envelope to match this wild and crazy paper.   Doesn't it feel good to use something that you have never used before, I think that is called NBUS -or Never Before Used Stuff.

I decided to make a wild matching envelope as well to go with this zany zebra.

June 17, 2020 Photo Inspiration

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the photo inspiration.  I have used this swan stamp several times - but usually as a wedding card, today it is for an anniversary - or it could be a wedding as well.  I used
Swan Love - 4321-J and for my sentiment I used 1201-I BeMine I just used the last line of the sentiment.  I had this swan paper in my "stash" and it works perfect for this cad.  I think I have enough to make another one using the swans.

June 10, 2020 The House that Stamps Built challenge TTT

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Tic Tac Toe which is one of my very favorite challenges.  I used babies, paper piecing and buttons.  And I am going to be needing a baby card here in a week or so.

I used a die cut for the base of my card - and stamped the Baby 1607-I - paper pieced its little outfit.  Then for the button and the sentiment I used
4126-G Cute as a-you  will notice I stamped my words vertical.  I hand sewed the paper buttons on and then put two tiny buttons on the romper outfit. These tiny buttons were from long ago days when I made Barbie doll clothes.  Glad I saved them.

June 3, 2020 Designer Challenge - TAGS

This week over at The House that Stamps Built  - oh my the first week in June already and our Rock Star Laurie chose our challenge - TAGS.  Well I am not really happy with tags - I think I might try too hard.  So with Christmas just 6 months away I decided to make some Christmas tags.  You can always use tags.

I decided to make three tags- and I used the following Repeat Impressions stamps:
     2108-H Joy
     1141-F Christmas
     8916-E Snowflake Outline
     2708-M Pine Branch
I really enjoyed decorating the tags - and they are all different - my favorite - well I think it would be Merry Christmas - the tag in the middle.
