January 30, 2013 Time to:

Hero Arts Stamps, DP 3bugs in a rug, ribbon from my stash, Spellbinders nesties, sentiment computer generated

My sweet granddaughter Paige is due in just a couple of weeks so I thought it would be fun to make a card for the last week or two of her waiting.  This card is a modified matchbook design and when you slip the ribbon off and open the flap the inside is this:

Whimsie Doodle Digi Image "Expecting", copic markers, spellbinders nesties

which I think turned out so cute, it is in the mail heading her way and hopefully it will make the wait a bit easier.  Oh did I say we are waiting for baby Isabella???

January 28, 2013 Cocoa Ants

Doodle Pantry Digi Image, sizzix embossing folder, Doodle Bug bakers twine, asst. brads, AMuse pearls

This cute image Cocoa Cup Ants from Doodle Pantry was just the image I needed this evening.  I am sending a cocoa packet/mini marshmallows to a special chemo patient.  I have been using the clock embossing folder from Sizzix a lot - it just seems like it works for so many of the recent ideas I have had lately.  The sentiment on the front is computer generated, small brads (which I have 1,000 and never use) worked great to use on the clock hands, and small red pearls on the image itself.  This image is precolored and used some corrugated  stock that has been in my stash for "ages".  Love the bright colors and I am thinking my special patient will too.

January 23, 2013 Picture Perfect

MFT Stamp - Picture Perfect, AMuse cs, Fiskars punch, AccuCut dies, copic for coloring, felt and ribbon for flower.
This is a stamp that I have been wanting for a while now so when I saw it I grabbed it but didn't ink it up until after Christmas, love MFT stamps - she is colored with copics and then paperpieced.  Love how AMuse cs all goes together so nicely, this card is for a special chemo sweetie.  I got a picture of her at Christmas so this made me think of her.  I made this 5 1/2 square card into an easel style card -

I am hoping this will bring a smile to her sweet face.

January 20, 2013 Love in in the Air Balloons

Memory Box Hot Air Balloon Die Sm and Lg. AMuse CS, Washi tape, AMuse cloud die, Sentiment AMuse  Tim Holtz Distress Ink, pop dots

Hot air balloons are "in" now and although I have hot air balloon stamps when I saw the dies from Memory Box I had this card in mind.  Thought all the pink hues went together - pop dot behind each balloon - a bit of Spun Sugar Distress ink on the clouds and some washi tape for that extra zip and the card was complete.  This could be used for Valentines Day, anniversary, or a "thinking of you" for that someone special.

January 16, 2013 Love Worms

Doodle Pantry Love Worms Digi, AMuse cs, asst. buttons, lace doily, bit of blind, Spellbinders Heart nestie

Isn't this image too cute???  I see doilies everywhere and well I was "cleaning" up my stash closet and ran across some doilies that I had been saving for that just certain card - well this was it for sure.  This new release image from Doodle Pantry  comes precolored and black/white but I love Lauries precolored images for a "fast" card and when you use the printed digi papers that she has included in this set there is no matching colors.  The little "thinning" hair on the male worm reminds me of my hubs while I still have a very full head of thick hair LOL.  I'm hoping he gets a laugh out of this card and enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it.

What a fun new set from Doodle Pantry and it is FREE with purchase through Jan. 24th.  I bought this embossing earlier this summer and had lots of ideas in my head and this is the first time I used it, thought it was perfect for this card.  I used Core'dinations color core cs so I lightly sanded it to highlight the clocks - then I put a bit of blind on the time of the clock hands just for fun.  A bit of Bakers Twine to break it up a bit and card ready.for that just right person!!!

January 11, 2013 How Swell

Image from TAC , Spellbinders nesties, DP Doodlebug Design Hello Spring, scallop die AMuse

I need a congrats on a new pregnancy and I ALWAYS turn to this stamp set - I can always achieve the look I have in my head of the finished card and this time is no exception.  Love the new Hello Spring 6 x 6 paper pack I picked up at The Stamp Pad in Kimmswick, MO.  Kimmswick is just one of those cute little towns filled with lots of fun unique shops and fun lady lunch spots.  It is like a halfway point for me to meet my friends that live in St. Louis and we always have fun.  Enjoy the card and congrats Shannon.

January 9, 2013 Mini Roses Purple

Doodle Pantry Mini Roses, The Twinery twine, paper doily, Spellbinders Wacky Rectangles, EK success punch, CS Bazzill, scorepal

I found my stash of doilys the other day and I am lovin using them in my creations, they add just a bit of lace without all the fuss.  Love the precolored  Mini Rose Pot with matching digi DP from Doodle Pantry.  Talk about a quick and easy birthday card - this looks like it took longer than 10 min. for sure.  I wanted to use the matching DP so i cut off the front of the card, used an EK Success scallop punch and then put the DP on the inside, adding just a little fun touch.  Some purple twine and the card is ready to go in the mail.  Each month I get the Chemo Angels birthday list so this one will be on its way this week.

January 6, 2013 Butterfly Kisses

The Crafts Meow Butterfly Kisses, AMuse CS, circle punches, butterfly bling, purchased doily

When I saw this image while "blurfing" a few weeks before Christmas I knew it was going to be added to my collection.  This image is from The Craft's Meow and comes with two images and 2 sentiments.  I fussy cut her out and popped her up with pop dots on a doily that I have distressed with Tim Holtz Black Soot distress inks and sponge.  I thought the AMuse gingham cs was the perfect cs for this image.  I had the butterfly in my stash and it worked perfectly to finish this card.

January 4, 2013 Mini Roses

Doodle Pantry Digi Image, QuickKutz Die, lace from stash, pearls from stash

I needed a quick card to get out in the mail this morning for my Chemo Angel group - and the lady liked roses, this Mini Rose Pot from Doodle Pantry is precolored and comes with several design papers to match the color of your precolored roses. I stitched some lace on the card with red to add a bit of contrast, cut out my image - added a bit of bling and my card is ready for the mail box.

January 1, 2013 Old Ship

Doodle Pantry Old Ship Digi Image - (new release), Spellbinders nesties, copic markers, twine, AMuse cs, Amuse swallow die

January 1 and another "NEW" release from Doodle Pantry.  I choose Old Ship to work with more as a challenge to myself but also because I loved how masculine the images were and would work so well for my masculine cards that I send not only for Chemo Angels, but for hubby, son, and male friends that I need cards for.  Love the ship in a bottle - which is a "bonus" image and I have always been amazed how "they" get that ship in the bottle!!!  Loved how the polka dot and chevron papers went together for this card so well.  For the second card I used some scraps of Basic Grey that I had left - (New Years resolution is to use up my DPs before I buy more).  I got the wacky rectangle nestie for Christmas and it is so much fun to play with.  The card needed just a little something else so I used the swallow die cut in the left corner and I think it completed it quite nicely.
