I got this cute cute owl image with my last order 2613-H Baby Owl.  We live in the "woods" and often at night when we let the dogs out for the final time at night we will hear the owls communicating.

and here is my card for the sketch challenge.  I went with all grey color pallet and decided I needed a bit of color so it would pop, so I found a zip lock bag of feathers and used a pretty bright red feather and red enamel dots to finish off my card.

July 27, 2019 Birthday Boy

July 16 was great grandson Mason's 1st birthday and the theme was Mickey Mouse.  I did some searching on Pinterest and came up with this one.

All you need are some circles and a bit of bakers twine for the focal image.  I then cut out his name with SU large alphabet dies (retired) and stamped It's your Day (SU).  Easy Peasy .

July 24, 2019 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built it is Anything Goes - one of my favorite weeks.

This really came about quite by accident as  I was cleaning off my "trashed" desk and found these beautiful flowers - 10301-H Patti's flower solid   already stamped and all that was needed was to stamp a couple of leaves 10318-D Leaf solid large and then fussy cut them out.  Now I am one who really hates to throw away something I might use later so it was a pleasant surprise when I found these.  As I was cleaning up my work space I looked up on the shelf above my desk and saw washi tape - and my card came together.  Don't use my washi tape enough - as I really like how this simple card came together.  For my sentiment I used 6512-E Everyday Blessings.  I popped up my flowers with a pop dot and then glued the leaf under the flower.  Very easy but I really like the finished card.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Anything Goes  So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. ow it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Use a Stencil  -  and  as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

July 22, 2019 POTW coloring with pigment ink

This week over at The House that Stamps Built  it is my turn to do a fun way to color in images, using pigment ink.

The supplies are something we probably all have in our "stuff" - versamark, white pigment ink, a blender pen, and white embossing powder.

I stamped and embossed 10202-Q Flower Power Frame with Versa-Mark and white sparkle embossing powder.

Now the fun part, on an acrylic block, or on your glass stamping mat apply the pigment ink by just turning the ink pad over and stamping on the block.  I then spritzed it with just a "little" water and picked up the color off of the block with a colorless blender pen.  This works best on a bright or darker color card stock.  The coloring almost looks translucent with the embossing detail still present.

After I let it dry and it only takes a few minutes I picked a sentiment to put inside the bouquet of flowers.  I choose 8708-E Sending Smile   as I send a lot of general thinking of you and encouragement cards.

To finish my card I added a pale yellow ribbon with bow and scattered a few sparkle sequins around.  My picture just didn't photograph well to show the real sparkle in the card - and as it was raining outside I was limited to an inside shot on this.

Hope you enjoy this POTW - try it on many different images that are available at Repeat Impressions.

July 17, 2019 - Inspiration Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is an Inspiration picture, follow the picture or colors either one works.

I did a pink and yellow theme using 9013D Chill out and 9008N Cool Treats
I often cut my stamps apart - (no sin there) for more versatility.  I just used the ice cream bar for my card.  I colored 3 bars, 2 pink and 1 yellow with copic markers.  Then mounted on a pink gingham circle and that circle on a yellow gingham circle.  I dug in my "special" fancy embellishments box and found the circle of bling and it just fit.  I cut my sentiment apart as well for more balance on this card.  Already sent this card out to my grand babies with some $$$ for the treat shack at the water park.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Photo Inspiration Challenge.    So many possibilities on this challenge.

July 10, 2019 Tic Tac Toe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Tic Tac Toe - which is one if not my favorite challenge,  for my card I choose the first line across insects, metallics, and dewdrops.

For my background I used a stencil that reminded me of a honeycomb - and I used discount store makeup brushes to stencil the background in oxide inks.  I got a variation of shading which I really like. I used 9301-P Happy Bees and
9212-D "Bee" Cause  and embossed the image in gold metallic embossing powder.  I had some yellow dew drops that worked perfect, rounded one corner and card done!!!  Easy Peasy

July 3, 2019 Red White and Blue Challenge

This week over at the House that Stamps Built Donna choose to have our challenge as Red, White and Blue.  I usually send a few 4th of July cards out to family and my chemo buddies.  And today is dear daughters birthday - ok I will tell you she is 53 - wow hard to believe that I have a daughter in her 50's.  She is an amazing daughter, wife, and mother and I am so proud of the woman she has become.

For my red white and blue challenge I used 9116-N Hot Air Balloon Cluster  and 3702-G USA.  I played with a couple of different layouts and finally decided I liked this one the best.  USA is stamped in red and the Balloons are stamped in navy.  I cut my Hot Air Balloon Cluster into 3 individual balloons for versatility in stamping.  I used an old stand by - the stamp positioner - for placement of the balloons.  Yes I love my Misti and Stamparatus but nothing like the original stamp positioner.  I layered my main layer on  some 4th of July DP, then on top I added a piece of "cloud" vellum that I have had for a really long time on top of the main layer - keeping my vellum in place with 2 small red stars.  The vellum was sheer enough that the focal images were seen - a bit muted but I like the end result.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Red, White and Blue.   So many possibilities on this challenge.
