Tulip Birgitta

I just got this new stamp Tulip Birgitta from All That Scraps and she was so much fun to color as are all of the Swiss Pixie images from All That Scraps. I colored her with copics, punched her out with a circle nestie, then mounted her on a scallop circle nestie, stamped sentiment from TAC mounted on a piece of yellow/orange cs with the tulip impressabilities ( which I love). Then in making some fluffy clouds in the sky I had an "oops" so had to use a yellow/orange bow to cover up the mistake. It worked okay but not the look I was going for. A few pearl bling and this card is ready to go.

Black and White with a Splash of color

Todays challenge over at TAC is Black and White with a splash of color - my card is very simple using a cuttlebug embossing folder I embossed the top 2/3, left a space of about 1 in. then embossed the bottom portion of the card with the embossing folder, I used my scor-pal and drew definite lines to show off the white space. I stamped my sentiment using Savvy Sayings, cut out with labels 4 nestie and put it on the right side of the card. Then I am so excited - I just learned to make rolled flowers using a circle punch or nestie - how much fun so the red flowers are my splash of color. I have a co-worker/friend that just had open heart surgery to replace not 1 but 2 valves so I am hoping this card will add a bit of cheer for her recovery.

April Blog Hop

We are having a fun blog hop over at Paper Wings this evening so follow the links below to get some fun new ideas on not only how to use flowers but maybe see some handmade flowers, and get some new ideas in how to color flowers. I used flowers on 2 cards this evening - the first one I used Simply Sweet set (which is soon to retire) colored with copic markers, cut out with nesties then used some posey flowers which I had in my stash - don't you love it when you can use something you have been hanging on to? I used some pearl bling on my DP and a quick and easy card using flowers. My second card is Sew Thankful stamp set and I used a variety of elements in this card. I embossed the dress form, mounted it on a nestie shape, then on a doily (doilies are so popular right now). I used pruple bazzil cs which I embossed with a impressabilities die called Flowers (K-306). I love using my "new" Grand Caliber with the impressabilities. I used a 2 in strip of Miss Moxie DP then a beautiful handmade flower which one of my home care patients made for me, she loves to crochet and made me several flowers in both white and a variety of colors. I put a red pearl in the center which is all it needed. I think this card is going to her as a thanks. Go check out everyone elses take on "flowers".

Golden Egg

Today over at Savvy Projects Blog there is a challange called the Golden Egg - we had to use 5 elements - 3 layers, ribbon, glitter, 3 or more colors, and flowers, I think I did it with this card and it was so much fun. I have not inked up any stamps from this set - Thinking Sweet Thoughts but I loved this watering can with the flowers and the saying was perfect. I colored the watering can with copic markers (warm greys), the flowers with Atyou glitter pens (love them), used green glitter from Glitter Art (we used to carry it several years ago), ribbon, posey flowers and a downloaded black/white dot paper from TAC. I would so like to find that Golden Egg - but if I don't I know it will make someone happy!!!

Being Cute

These images are so much fun to color - simple but cute and there is such a selection - My Favorite things and this one is Being Cute is What I do. I colored her with copic markers, mounted her on a scrap of blue. the base card IRL is really a bright sunshine/yellow/orange color but my scan just does it no justice. I ran this though my cuttlebug. I had a scrap of dotted paper then I used lemon drop bakers twine and a bright orange dotted button that i had (TAC) and it just all went together so nicely. This will go to my Chemo Angels lady which I am hoping will help her through her chemo treatments this week.

Kraft Card

Today over at The Angel Company Savvy Projects it is "Kraft" Tuesday - cards made using Kraft CS. I really like how versatile Kraft CS is - you can use it for any occasion and it goes with any color combination, here I did one with brown on Kraft. I used Sea Stamps (to be retired soon), Script Background, kraft, brown, and Ivory CS, Burnt Umber Palette Ink and Transcendence Embossing Powder (love this stuff). I stamped the image using burnt umber ink, then stamped again and embossed with the transcendence powder, I then cut out the shell and popped it up. I mounted on brown cs. For the bg I used the script stamp, some score-bug work on the side, a bit of ribbon and then a tiny shell on the ribbon. You could use this card for just about any occasion.

Birthday Gretel

This card is for a dear friend of my Mom which I have kept in touch with for many many years even though my Mom passed away 35 years ago. I love these little Swiss Pixie designs from C.C. Designs . This was an adventure in copic coloring for me as it had so many elements and colors - it just let my creativity go "wild". I tried using some of the techniques I learned in the copics class and I am pretty pleased with the results. I used nestie labels for my mat pieces and also the card base which turned out very nice. I had tiny brads which I used for buttons on her top and of course some glitter on her wings. I hope my dear friend Thelma smiles when she gets her card.

Beautiful Day

Just got this new rubber this past week and when I saw the bunny I knew exactly what I was going to do, he so reminds me of the muslin bunnies that were so popular a few (well okay several) years back. I can't tell you how many of those cute little bunnies I made plus the clothes to go with. In fact I still have a mom and her 2 children (boy and girl) in my granddaughters guest room. I think I should have gone one shade lighter with the coloring but it turned out ok. I used X-Press CS (we got samples at the copics class) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it - colors blend so smoothly. Used some nesties dies some "stashed" SEI (TAC used to carry this many years ago), brown and pink scrappers floss and then I thought oh my he needs something else, so I tried a flower, placed different words, some bling and finally I remember the Gem collection TAC carries and the heart worked just perfectly. Used a corner chomper on the corners and some black Tim Holtz accent on his eyes. Cute!!!

Cupcake Birgitta

I had 2 birthday cards to make this week and having just received Swiss Pixies Cupcake Birgitta from All that Scraps I decided to use this oh so cute image. I colored this darling with my copic markers glittered her wings and made 2 different designs . Images are cut with Nesties (love to have their legs out of the box), on the green card I used a new saying from TAC that was just perfect for this card - and for the little girl in blue I had some cupcake brads and I used bakers twine with the cupcake brad. I added a bit of glossy accents on the cherry on top. I slipped a gift card from a new downtown cupcake/dessert shop (has yummy pasteries) in the card so hopefully the girls will be happy with both their cards and their gift cards.

Beautiful Day

I am so "impressed" with this tulip Impressabilities that I just received from TAC - using my "new" Grand Caliber machine (which so far I am really enjoying), I love the impression I got!!! I was never quite able to get the impression I wanted just using my cuttlebug - now don't get me wrong I love my little bug too but...move over little one. I used a new stamp set that I just cut called Beautiful Day again from TAC it is a new set which is part of their Spring Fling collection - (if you would like to add this to your stamp collection please email me). I colored my image with copics, cut with labels 11 and mounted on an oval nestie which I cut from Miss Moxie DP. The saying is also from the same set. A bit of bling and with the nice impression that is all I needed to make this card complete. I'm off to color another image from the same set so keep checking back to see my next post.

Doodle Pantry Froggie

Over at the Doodle Pantry there is a challenge to use any of their digital images - well I choose a FREEBIE called Pre-colored froggie - yes I said pre-colored - what a fun fast easy card this was. I added some wispy clouds in the sky - fussy cut the lilys and popped them up to give some dimension, cut out with an oval nestie and mounted on a fancy oval nestie. I used TAC paper - called Hip Hop the sentiment is also TAC and I found some little froggie eyelets which I put in each corner. fun is this???

Easter Basket Hop

There is an Easter Basket Hop this weekend over at The Angel Company . I just got my first Big Spellbinders dies and a Grand Caliber so this is my first project using the big dies. I have the scallop circles and I cut my basket using pink cs, I colored my image from I Love Easter with water color crayons. I was cleaning out some "stuff" and ran across some water color paper so I stamped my image on the watercolor paper. It has been a long time since I used the water color crayons and I forgot how much fun coloring with them was. I mounted my colored image on a scallop fancy circle cut from More Mimi paper. On the handle I tied a bow (the ribbon is from a gift my friend Pat gave me this week), it went perfect with the More Mimi. I used an oval pink gem from the Pink Gem collection D310 - they reminded me of Easter eggs. I put three chocolate bunnies in the basket and I think it turned out pretty cute. Fun project for my new big dies.

Hedgehog Happiness Easter

This is another Easter Card I came up with using Hedgehog Happiness (what a fun versatile set). I stamped the focal image and then masked the wagon to put the bunnies in the wagon. I colored with copic markers, (I tried to do some flicking for her fur). I added a bit of bling on the wheels, some glitter (just a bit) to the grass in the wagon then cut it out with a nesties labels 17 (which I love). I used Pop Rockz DP for my papers as it just had the right colors to go with my coloring. I used a grass punch to do the grass then I slipped it into the bottom of the nestie to cut the rounded shape. I don't remember where I got the Happy Easter brads but I thought they were cute for this project. Hope you enjoy. Why not hop on over to The Angel Company and check out some other creations.

Hippity Hoppity

Well it is Finally Friday and over at The Angel Company there is The Joy of Easter - you will be pleasantly surprised at the creations Angela Kelley has made - (might have to case them myself). I made an Easter card with a "retired" TAC set called Hippity Hoppity - which I had in my "for sale" box and dug out when this hop came up. I have been digging several of those stamps sets out of my for sale box recently. I had to make a larger card to get all my images on, I used Tutti Fruitti DP as my bg papers as it had all bright Easter colors there. I used copics to color my images and nesties label 4 to cut them out. Popped the images up with pop dots, a bit of pink ribbon with cute Easter eggs tied , the ribbon could have been a bit brighter but I loved the Easter eggs. Go visit the Savvy Projects and have fun looking at all the creations.
