April 27, 2014 Thinking of You

Great Impressions Stamp, doiley from my stash, cs from stash, colored with prisma colored pencils

Went shopping last week with some dear stamping friends in Kimmswick Mo.  There is a small stamping store there called the Stamp Pad and she has everything!!!  I just don't know how she could get much more in the store without setting up shop on the sidewalk.  I bought this little stamp as I thought it would "stand alone" for those quick Thinking of You cards that I always seem to need.  I followed a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and I think I got in just under the wire.  This will be going out in the mail tomorrow to a senior that needs just an extra bit of cheer.

April 21 Happy spring

SU punch for bird/limb sentiment by Prickley Pear, asst. washi tape from stash

Last week one of my stamping buddies and friend came over for a play date at my house.  On our birthdays we celebrate by having the birthday girl come to your house, you have projects planned (and cut) lunch - (we decided to go out to one of our favorite little diners here in town) and it is so much fun.  So April was Cheryl's birthday and this is one of the projects we made - the technique from Technique Junkie called Washi Herringbone technique, and I love washi tape.  Thought this one turned out really springy and bright and it is on the way to a chemo buddy that needs a little cheering up this week.

April 18, 2014 Dino-Mite Day

Doodle Pantry precoloerd digi as well as DP, ribbon and buttons from my stash

I needed a birthday card for one of my chemo buddy's children so I thought this one would work up really cute and of course it did.  I love Doodle Pantry percolored images and most of the time ther"special" design papers to go along with the focal image making it very easy to put together a card quite easily.  Hope he enjoys this card - with a McDonald gift card between the folds!!!

April 16, 2014 Birthday Box Card

Punch for cupcake MS, Balloon Dies by IO, DP from my stash, bling from AMuse Studio

This is my second card using the "box" card design.  A couple of weeks ago my friend Patti came over for a play day and one of her projects was the box card.  they are really popular right now, not difficult to make (if you have a good teacher) and lots of fun to decorate.  I have lots of ideas in my head - butterflies, flowers, snowflakes, birds, hearts for Valentine or anniversary, the ideas are endless.  It really works well if you have double sided printed DP - you know it will match.  Thanks for the fun project Pat.  Challenges:
     2 Cute Ink - Celebration
Digi Chooseday - use 2 different papers
Crafting from the Heart  -  use yellow
Through the Purplehaze - anything goes

I have some very dear friends who are having an anniversary this week - so hopefully they will have received this card before it becomes live on my blog - I loved piecing the little birdies and decorating with the hearts and the little blue flower in her hair.  The image didn't exactly work as well as I thought it would for the sketch which is from Sketch Saturday.  Happy Anniversary Guys.   Challenges:
