JANUARY 31, 2018 Sketch - The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is sketch challenge - this was so much fun to put together.  With Valentine Day only a couple weeks off I choose to make a Valentine card using 112-H Dancing Mice- aren't they just adorable.  I choose Valentine Day but I think these darling mice could be used for an anniversary card  as well.  For my sentiment I used 1201-I  Be Mine.

Colored the mice with copic markers, then I started going through my stash of "love" papers and came across the heart cs, and thought the strip pink/red went well.  A piece of heart ribbon, and a couple of heart embellishments.  This may be my Valentine for my hubby.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of Sketch Challenge  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

If you look on my right side bar I also have a discounted coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.
Now why not take a look at our DT Rock Stars for inspiration and to get you started.

January 28, 2016 - Birthday Cards

Diane's Card

Donna's Card

Getting together today with two besties for a day of card making, new techniques, new folds, fun, lunch and time together.
I traveled to STL. today for our get together as they both live within a few minutes of each other, so I am going to make it an overnighter.  We try to get together every 4-5 months to craft together and always have a great time.
Diane's birthday was two weeks ago  and Donna's birthday is in February but since I wanted to hand deliver the cards I took them with me.  Both sets are SU - love how they stamp.   Both cards are very CAS - (for me) and I like how they turned out.
See you in a couple of days with our weekly challenge at The House that Stamps Built.

January 26, 2018 Tasty Truck for Bella's Birthday

My sweet great granddaughter Bella will be 5 in February - they will be gone to Disney World on her birthday so the party is tomorrow.
I borrowed this set from a bestie Patti and had so much fun creating with it that I went on EBay and found one formyself.  I used watercolors to color the image - one of my goals for the new year is to improve my water coloring skills as in shading and depth.  I used a couple of die cuts on the card - one to ground the truck and then one at the top.  Added some Nuvo drops on the flags and some sequins just for fun.

Here is the dress I am giving her along with some $$$ for her birthday.

January 24, 2018 - Anything Goes

What a way to start the year with over at The House That Stamps Built.  My Anything Goes selection was a New Years Card.  I made a few New Years cards and sent them out to just a few people like my chemo buddies.

Who doesn't celebrate with a little bubbly to ring in the New Year, and I used the following stamps 3811-H Champagne Bottle and 3804-I Happy New Year.  I just love the cork popping out of the champagne. I had a pad of paper with beautiful 6 x 6 papers that were a delight - rich looking and was perfect for this card.  I embossed the bottle as well as the words in gold embossing powder.  Hoping you all had a great New Years.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of Anything Goes - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

January 22, 2018 POTW Faux Scallops

This week at The House that Stamps Built it is my week to do the POTW (pick  of the week)    I usually wonder what complicated technique or fold I can show but this time I went with a SIMPLE - (doesn't get any simpler than this.)  The supplies are something we all have on hand :    I know a couple of our Rock Stars love to use their left over scraps so hope this will come in handy for them.

You will need  your card base - I used Kraft, layering piece cut 4 inches x 5 1/4  4  scraps of DP or pattern card stock - 1"x 4", distress ink (I used Old Paper, and a sponge dauber)  Versa-Fine Vintage Sepia, scallop circle punch,  1" circle punch, and adhesive.

I had a bunch of kitty/cat DP which I had used in scrapping several years ago so I picked out 4 that I thought would go together.  Cut 4 strips of 1 inch by 4 inch DP and punch 4 -  1 inch circles from same DP.  Lay out your design  on your layering piece.

I then distressed the edges of the strips and circles with Old Paper distress ink. When you get them the way you think they are eye appealing glue down your inch strips on your 1" x 4 1/4" layer  making sure you butt then right next to each other.  Place the circles on the bottom and glue them in place with about 1/2 of the circle below the strip line.  .

After you have glued the strips and circles glue a 3/4 in. x 4 inch strip horizontally across the bottom of the strips and circles, making this look like a scallop.  At this time I also stamped my sentiment 1807-F I'm So glad found here

Stamp your focal image 2604-I Cat with Ribbon found here  on a scallop circle.  I colored the bow on kitty with an orange glitter pen.  I then tied a ribbon around the 3/4 inch strip and then used pop dots to pop up my scallop circle.

Hope you try this - was fun and used up some of those small scraps that we all seem to collect.

JANUARY 17, 2018 The House that Stamps Built Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is to use the inspiration photo and/or colors.  I choose to go with the photo - when I saw this picture I saw a doe and her young deer out in the snow covered woods looking for shelter for the night.  Using 4221-K Deer Family Silhouette I cut the buck apart from the doe and fawn as I really just had room for the two deer.  Love the flexibility of rubber!!!  I also used 2709-I and 2714-D Large and Small Pine Tree Forest on both sides of the deer.  For my sentiment I really wasn't sure what I wanted this card to convey so I used Sentiment Silent Wonder 6518-D

Using distress inks I blended blues/purples for both the sky and snow - masking off the moon.  Colored the moon in slightly with Scattered Straw distress ink, scattered a few star sequins in the sky, added some white gel pen to the trees, a shadow line under the trees and deer and I love how it turned out.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Photo Inspiration  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

January 14, 2018 Calendar

Found the instructions at Split Coast Stampers a few weeks ago for the calendar - loved the design and wanted a little break from what I normally do yearly.
This was easy to put together especially using SU new line of papers from their winter celebration sale.  One of the on line demonstrators was offering a 6 x 6 paper collection of all the new designs  so what a nice way to get the new ones and figure out which ones you "need" to order in the 12 x 12 size.

This one is for my chemo buddy so with the beautiful design paper all I needed was a couple of butterflies and then decided to use the cut out word faith.  Decorated the butterflies with a bit of bling and decorated the back and the card was done. Useful and pretty.

JANUARY 10, 2018 The House that Stamps Built Challenge

What a fun way to create for this weeks challenge - Tic-tac-Toe - I used diagonal pearls, blue, and Thank You.  It just all came together so easily after I decided which way  wanted to go.

I used thanks so much from plate 10000 Thanks such a great set to have - so many ways to use the "thanks".  I stamped it i na shadow effect with light and dark blue,  using my stamp positioner to align them up slightly off.  Then I stamped 4 using 10307-H and 10301-H Patti's Flower outline and solid stamps. Again using the light blue/dark blue.  I fussy cut them and used one for the inside of my card.  Some blue pearls in the center, a pretty blue ribbon again with a blue pearl and the card is complete.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of Tic-Tac-Toe  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

January 3,2018 Wings

We welcomed in 2018 at home with friends.  Dinner and playing games/cards.  Not one for big crowds or drinking (way too expensive).

For our first challenge of 2018 our Rock Star Laurie chose "Wings" - anything with wings, so that is a pretty broad challenge.

I love butterflies so I used Butterfly - sm 9009-F found here  and the sentiment Think of You 1105-E found hereThis was a fun card to put together after I found the background paper.  I added a border punch (Martha Stewart)  on the top, a strip of some dull ivory for my focus image and sentiment.  Colored the butterfly with Copic markers and for the gold my Wink of Stella fold pen.  Added some tiny pearls for my bling and stamped my sentiment.

Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of Wings  - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
