Anything Goes - The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Anything Goes as it is the last Wednesday of the month.

I was doing some "purging" of ribbon and STUFF and came across this wide ribbon and thought perfect for the card I had in mind.

I used 10301-H Patti's flower solid  and stamped them to match the colors used in the ribbon. I thought they were pretty good matches.  I fussy cut the flowers out- (I find fussy cutting relaxing).  I laid out my design glued the flowers in place and colored the center of the flowers in black glitter gel pen.  I left enough room at the bottom for my sentiment 1113-D Happy Birthday .  I thought it  still needed a little something else so I used 3416-C Random Swirls in the colors I used on my flowers.  I used tear tape on my ribbon so it would stay flat on the card.  I also have some cupcake wide ribbon which I think I will use on another card.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of ATG So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of ATG
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discounted coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

Old Truck card

Oh does this bring back some sweet memories, this is a TAC, The Angel Company, stamp which has been out of business for several years.  I loved their stamps and was a demonstrator for several years.  This was one of my favorite stamps and yes I have several "old" TAC stamps.

I colored the truck with copic markers and some glitter pens, made some clouds with a cloud stencil and layered it on a piece of DP I had in my stash.  I recently got a new senior buddy - (male) and I had to make up a few masculine cards for my stash. I don't sent him a giftie every week but usually once or twice a month and I try to coordinate the card with the little gift.  Before this senior buddy I had one in Canada that I wrote weekly for over 5 years.  He passed in January and I really missed him so I applied for another senior buddy and got another man.

The House that Stamps Built - Focal image - Sentiment

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Use a sentiment as your focal image.  Here is my card.

just got a new frame die cut (inlovearts), and I thought what a nice frame for a simple sentiment God Bless You 3917-F.  I cut my frame out of spring green cardstock, and mounted it on a watercolor look cardstock from a paperback.  I find myself going to this pack of papers a lot - (Hobby Lobby).  I added some light blue pearls in the center of the flowers and card done.  Talk about a quick and easy or a CAS.  This is both.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Sentiment So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Sentiment.

SU Chicken Card

When I saw that Stampin Up was coming out with dies to match the retired set Hey Chick as well as the new chicken set I just had to have it.  And here is my card -

what a fun die set, especially with the corn plants and ears of corn growing, as well as the chicken house - and there are many more.  I had made a set of note cards for my chemo buddy and the theme of the note cards was a rooster, so I made this card to go along with the note cards.  I send a little giftie each week to my chemo buddy - in fact I have 2 currently - and on her bio it said she liked note cards so what a nice handmade gift for this week.  I always try and match up my card (with encouraging messages) with the gift I am sending.

POTW - Recycled CD disc

This is my week over at The House that Stamps Built and I decided to recycle -  yes recycle a CD disc.  How many of us have "old" CD discs laying around the office or craft room, or in a box.  Crafters seem to hang on to just about everything. So lets get started:

I used a never before used stamp I had in my Repeat Impressions collection called DiviDivi Tree 2409-M and 8606-E Happy Birthday  I used Memento black ink to stamp my Diva-Diva Tree and Staz-On black ink for the sentiment.  I already had a nice piece of a CD as I had been playing with this technique before I did myPOTW.

I die cut the CD with just a standard die using my Big Shot, it did not cut all the way through so I used my heat gun to soften the cd, then used an OLD pair of scissors to cut the image out.    I also die cut my main image using same set of dies only a bigger die.  I stamped the leaves of the tree on a muted green pattern DP and fussy cut so I could pop it up on the finished card.

I used a sanding block to smooth out the rough edges so there would be no chance of injury to the recipient.  You can also sand the entire back of the cut cd and sand off the coating and have a clear embellishment.  I stamped the sentiment using Staz-On black ink.

And here is my competed card:

I applied the embellishment with sticky tape.  I like the rainbow effect of the sentiment on the CD.

Give this a try and lets see what you do with this technique.

Signs of Spring - The House that Samps Built Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built  our challenge is "Signs of Spring".  There were so many choices that I simply didn't know which one to use so I finally decided on this one.

This bird house card is from an "OLD" pattern - probably at least 14-15 years old.  But for our spring challenge I thought "if I can find the pattern" I am going to make this.  Pattern found, and cut out of white, fold a few scorelines - put roof on  in woodgrain pattern as well as the sill.  I stamped the  image - 1703-J   Birds nest branch, and 1301-F Happy Spring.  I colored with copic markers and then staped another bird nest only and popped it up to give a little added dimension.  What more - how some soft fluffy clouds in light blue, and a pretty pink bow and card done.  Will fit in regular A2 size envelope.

Challenge - Anniversary - The House that Stamps Built

This week our challenge over at The House that Stamps Built, Patti our Rock tar has chosen to go with Anniversary Card.

I went with a fun card with wine.

I used 7506-W Red Flip Set and 418-J Here's to you both.  I am planning on sending this to my dear daughter and hubby as they like a little bit of wine from time to time and I thought this was perfect for them.  I used some "new" beautiful corner dies that anchored my focal card - and some pretty bling in the upper right corner.  This card will soon be in the mail.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Anniversary So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do  you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. using the challenge of Anniversary .
