March 29, 2016 Sketch Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built we have a sketch challenge for our inspiration.  I choose to use Dress Form 9307-L and on the inside I used the saying You are Sew Special 9314-E . I loved paper piecing the dress on the dress form and then using varied size buttons to complete the sketch.  Hope you enjoy my take on this sketch.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the sketch as your inspiration
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discount coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

March 24, 2017 HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY

Good Morning!
Today, we are celebrating a very special lady!
Wendy Wyman, owner of Repeat Impressions Stamps, has a birthday today,
and we all want to wish her a wonderful day...
When Wendy was just 4 years old, she announced that she was going to be an artist when she grew up.  Many years, and many sketchbooks later, she had earned a BFA in Graphic Design.
The next 11 years found Wendy worked in advertising, freelancing, and running a printing company.
And then it happened...Wendy's mom became a stamping addict, and the rest was history!  It was Wendy's mom's encouragement that led her to turn her illustrations into fine art rubber stamps.
Wendy's husband Bill, was also looking for a career change, and jumped at the idea of learning a new skill.  And so....in 1996, Wendy and Bill established Repeat Impressions Stamps.  Each stamp is designed by Wendy, and manufactured by Bill in their home workshop!
We hope that you will join us today, as we hop together for Wendy!
A note to Wendy from all of us:
Wendy, you are the sweetest, and most generous person we know.
As a 'boss', rarely do we find ourselves working for someone that is more professional,
or more organized!  You are so understanding of our personal issues, and it's a joy to work with you and your products!

We want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!
We each look up to you, we admire you, and we respect you.
May your day today be filled with love and laughter!

And remember....the more candles you have, the bigger the wish you are allowed!
Here are a few of my favorite Repeat Impressions creations:

Please hop along to see what my fellow Rock Stars have to share for Wendy!

Thanks for hopping with us!  If you have a minute, please go to the RI blog, The House that Stamps Built, and leave Wendy a bit of Birthday love!!!

March 22, 2017 ANYTHING GOES

Envelope

This week over at The House that Stamps Built the challenge is ANYTHING GOES.  This always seems to be a favorite among the design team as well as
favorite with out followers.
This week I made a "modified" joy fold card using Moon Angel 716-G and friend from the Hello Series 9900.  I colored her with prisma colored pencils and blended with OMS - then did some gold splattering around her.

On the inside of my card I used You are an Angel 2522-G. and Random Stars 3417-C

Since this was an odd size card I made an envelope to size and on the outside of the envie I stamped Random Stars 3417-C

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the theme of Anything Goes over at The House that Stamps Built challenge
You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice in the drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

March 17, 2017 Dragonfly card

My friend Sally - who is also a SU demonstrator has started a Cup and a Card at one of our local coffee houses here in town.  We meet every other Tuesday, buy a coffee - and make a card for a nominal fee.  Fun, friendship, ideas, and good coffee.  This week we colored as SU has new coloring pages so Sally cut them up into 4 inch squares and away we went coloring.  I used SU inks and a blender pen.  But my favorite part is the dragon fly - love love love him and Sally had them all die cut for us.  Then some silver thread for accent - which I have trouble getting it to look right, but I don't think there is a right or wrong with this fine thread, it certainly has a mind of its own.  Isn't it pretty???

March 15, 2017 - Photo Inspiration

This week over at The House that Stamps Built we had our photo inspiration/color challenge - pictured above - well I went with photo - and when I saw this picture I saw CAT - so I choose The Cat's Out 1611K and the sentiment is The Cat's Out 2516G.  The first cat I ever had was a yellow strip tabby we named Morris  so I colored him like our Morris cat  Since I needed a birthday card I choose to use the sentiment that goes with this.  I paper pieced the paper bag after spritzing it a bit then crumbling it up so it looked like the cat had been playing for a while.  Morris loved paper grocery bags.  I had a cat charm/paperclip that worked well on this so I used it as well.  Hope you enjoy seeing my Morris cat.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the photo/color challenge inspiration  and enter it in The House that Stamps Built challenge

March 8, 2017 The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the tic-tac-toe shown above.  I chose to go with vertical pets, texture and charms.  Pets is our youngest Buddy - half Rhodesian Ridgeback and half black lab, and talk about turning on the charm - he can certainly charm anyone for a pet under his chin.  A friend gave me this 8 x 8 card but I choose to work with it as a scrapbook page as we have a scrapbook for our DOGS.  On the front I used 8104I Happy Puppy colored him using  Buddy as my model - then used a frame (from some wonderful blog candy  I received a few weeks ago -thanks Laurie).  Tied a dog bone charm with white/black bakers twine and mounted him on some DP and a smaller solid color ran through an embossing folder with doggie paws.  On the inside I used Hello handsome a full plate 9900 with Hello and lots of sentiments to go with this.  On the back page I printed off a picture of Buddy on his favorite hammock with his cloth chuck-it.  It is really hard to photograph black dogs!!!

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the theme Tic-Tac Toe and enter it in The House that Stamps Built challenge

March 1, 2017 House of Cards Create a Scene

This is the second post for today from Glittered Paws.

This month over at The House of Cards our theme was create a scene - so my vision was to create a "vintage photo" that had been found in an old box of  family photos.  I used a digi image by Mynn called Purr-fect friend and printed the image out in a sepia tone on ivory cardstock.  I "wadded" it up creating the wrinkles then took my distress tool and distressed the edges and used antique linen distress ink and again distressed the wrinkles.  Used a muted dot background - and made my card into an easel card using a heart with paw print charm for my backstop.  Hope you enjoy the little vintage scene I have created.

March 1, 2017 Designer Choice Long Tall Sally

Every month we have a Designer Choice challenge and this month it was Laurie who chose "Long Tall Sally".  It has been "years" literally since I have made a long tall card.  I had some longer envelopes in my stash so went with that to size my card.  As you can see I carried my theme over to my enevelope.   I loved using these stamps.  The large and small  butterfly worked perfect for this card and the sentiment in the middle finishes the feeling of the card.  Colored with copic markers, had some scrap DP in my basket that I used on both the left and right sides, - masked my butterflies and used some Lemon Whip and Papaya spritz for the splatter dots and then finished off with a variety of yellow/orange enamel dots.

Now it is your turn to your turn to make a card using the theme Long Tall Sally and enter it in The House that Stamps Built challenge
