October 31, 2019 - Halloween

I have young great grands - so I send them fun - whimsy Halloween cards with their treats.  This is a Lawn Fawn image/dies - stamped and coloredwith copic markers.  Along with the card I sent treats - stickers, coloring book, crayons, and 1 pkg of Peeps each.  Mom really tries to limit their sweet treats.

October 30, 2019 Sketch Challenge

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Sketch challenge which our owner/leader Wendy chooses when we have that 5th Wednesday in the month.   Our sketch is:

I flipped the sketch on its side as it was just a better fit for my design.  I needed an anniversary card so this sketch came in a timely manner. Stamps used
     4321-J Swan Love
     1222-G Love Stencil
I had some pretty blue/gold DP that I was hoarding - so I used that as well as some shimmer light blue cardstock, and white shimmer cardstock, I embossed the swans in a glittery Egyptian gold embossing powder.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Sketch Challenge.  So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. ow it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of  Use a Stencil  -  and  as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge to win.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

October 23,2019 Anything Goes

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Anything Goes.  This would have to be my second favorite challenge with TicTacToe being the first.

For my card I did a triple time stamping - it has been a "long" time since I have done one of these and I thought the dies I used worked out very well for this technique.  The Stamps I used are:
     3412-C Gulls

I went with a monochromatic color theme in Navy and white,  Finishing the card off with a little piece of blue/white bakers twine with a die cut anchor on the left side.  Good masculine card.

October 21, 2019 POTW The House that Stamps Built

This week over at The House that Stamps Built I am going to do a comparison "study" using three different stamp platforms.  (Disclaimer - I do not work for or promote any of the platforms that I used).

I used a few of my favorite fall stamps from Repeat Impressions.

     Maple Leaf Sil. 5127-K
     Oak Leaf Sil.     5110-I
     Acorn                 3311-C
     Thanksgiving     1140-E

I happen to have 3 - (probably 2 too many) stamping platforms - so below are the supplies I used for this POTW.

I used my original which is the one with the foam rubber feet from Fiskars, then the Misty from Sweet Petunia and finally Stamp-a-ratus from SU.  I used some nice"juicy ink" pads which really help in getting a nice solid image.

As you can see there is very minimal difference in the stamped image, you can click on the picture to see a close up.  Some of the leaves do have a few muted lines but there is no such thing as a perfect leaf - right??  I think it really comes down to what you have, what you can afford, and what you are comfortable in using.  I decided I needed to add a couple of dies to the picture.

and as you can see in the final picture below it really added a bit of texture and interest.  This Happy Thanksgiving card has already been mailed - yes I have a little senior buddy in Canada and they celebrate Thanksgiving on October 14 this year.

I decided I needed to fill some empty white space - so the little acorn was perfect.  A triple twine bow on the leaf die and card was ready to mail.

October 16, 2019 Photo Inspiration

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is Photo Inspiration.

Again I had a lot of fun making this card - "designing" is not my best skill but I haveto confess I "cased" this lay out from an old card in my stash.  For this image I used 514-I Prized Pumpkin coloring with my copic markers, then using some DP from a pack that I "found" in a tub in my craftroom. Again fun choosing the colors and design as well as a couple of brads.  We just don't seem to use brads much anymore and I have "thousands" well close to it.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Photo Inspiration.

October 9, 2019 TicTacToe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is TicTacToe which is one of my favorite challenges, so many choices to choose from.  I choose to do the top across

Isn't this image beautiful - I enjoyed coloring it with copics, then sponging the blue sky with just a hint of pink in the sky,and the narrow green strip at the bottom is washi tape.  I used 703-P for my image - Wood Friends.  I die cut the Happy Hello threetimes out of black, glued them together, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder which gives it the shine.  I recently got some rectangle stitched dies and it makes a perfect frame - the blue.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of TicTacToe    So many possibilities on this challenge.

October 2, 2019 - Designer Choice

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our Rock Star designer Joy has chosen for us to do a card with "circles".  Here is my card for this challenge.

I had some a"precut" cards already designed with the three circles at the bottom so went with that just to use something from my stash.
I used 3114-I Just Hand Over and 4513-C Rubber Stamp Small.  I had just a small piece of the blue gingham (love gingham) stamped the image in the circles, colored with copics and just a bit of twine to set it off.  I think I havethe stamper in mind that I might be sending this card to.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Use a circle.
