Spiders are Seen
We have a weekly sketch challenge over at Paper Wings hosted by Maria - a dear fellow angel. I have had this stamp set for a couple of weeks but have not inked it up until today. How much fun is this set - all spider webs, and spiders. Perfect for Halloween. I colored the witched stockings with copic markers, ran the black cs through my cuttlebug embossing folder using the spider web, then punched spiders out of velvet paper with my tonic punch. Along the edge of the witches legs I used my "new" MS punch spider web which I got self for BD (thanks dear daughter for the gift card).

Flowers and Holly
This set has been around a long time and in my opinion it is a classic with so many possibilities. Cheryl had made this card as a wedding card for a co-worker and her theme was sunflowers. I thought this card was perfect for this occasion. We cut out the sunflower after coloring it with prisma colors, pop dotted it up on a scallopped circle edged in gold, mouned on a dk brown scallop circle and then on a beautiful sheer gold paper that Cheryl had inher stash, (and yes she gave me a few sheets for my stash). A brown satin ribbon, the words celebrate and love stamped in burnt umber and gone over in the gold glitter gel pen and what a beautiful card.

Peace be Still
My birthday was last week - and for the past couple of years a dear friend (Cheryl) and I get together for each others bd and instead of shopping etc. we spend the day stamping/crafting and then lunch. The hostess has 2-3 projects planned and I had a couple of tricks up my sleeve to share. Cheryl had 3 beautiful cards planned, cut and ready to be stamped when I got there last Thursday. This is the first card we made and I think it is my favorite. We used Peace be Still (one of my favorites in the new catalog). We used burnt umber palette ink, brown and ivory card stock and Anna Griffin DP. The focal flower was cut so the stamped image could be slipped under the flower and I think it is so beautiful. The dk brown satin ribbon completes the card. We broke for lunch at a great little hamburger place with absolutely sandwiches and absolutely GREAT prices, then went back to her house to play with some techniques like "out of the box", coloring with OMS, and using impressabilities dies in our cuttlebug.

Fall Blog Hop
This month the angels over at Paper Wings is having a "FALL" blog hop which included not only fall projects but some halloween projects too. I chose to do one of each and they were both so much fun, entirely different cards.
Had to do one with the darling kids from Delightfully Spooky - colored with copic markers but with my octagon nesties and thenm mounted on a "retired" paper pack of Halloween papers we used to carry. I am very stingy with this pack as it has so many cute designs. Some green Halloween grosgrain ribbon and I used my BD present from DD - the tiny attacher (stamples) from Tim Holtz. Isn't it just the cutest with those tiny stamples, perfect for ribbon.
My next project was one I cased from this issue of Paper Crafts magazine using a 5 1/2 square TAC dark green card stock and a selection of fall colors from DCWV Neutrals stack with white core - great for sanding. I used 3 patterned cuttlebug embossing folders and then placed them geometrically on my card. Used some heavier twine to tie a bow and for the focal image colored the pumpkin from another new set Autumn Leaves (which will be offered as the SOTM in Sept - at a reduced price.).
Now hop on over and see what everyone else has come up with for their fall projects and sit back and enjoy.

Delightfully Spooky - Sketch 123
This little guy is from TAC's SOTM Delightfully Spooky and I think the set is just darling - but I love to color especially little kiddos. This card was made to enter over at Heathers blog for Sketch 123 - go take a look around her blog and I am sure you will be inspired. She is not only a fantastic paper crafter but a dear angel as well. I colored this little dragon boy with copic markers, add some glitter pen to his little claws on his feet and a piece of grosgrain ribbon for my sentiment.

Blossoms and Blessings
I think this card turned out almost "perfect" for my standards that is!!! I have had this set since the first week the new inspiration book was out and really struggled with ideas until I sat down with white cs and stamp in hand. I used another technique from Technique Junkie newsletter (I think this one was their best so far). I used a piece of lace on white cs, sprayed it with Tattered Wings Glimmer Mist - Bubble Gum Pink. It was the perfect bg for this image. I used a nestie to cut out my image and saying and colored it with water color shimmers - remember we used to carry them and me being one who doesn't let go of much kept them around and it worked perfect for this. A gold satin bow and card complete. Let me know what you think.

Background Soup
This technique was featured in the Aug./Sept issue of Technique Junkie called the pinwheel. First of all this was so much fun to play with and second I got to use some stamps from a new set in this years Inspiration catalogue called Background Soup. I used our Navy Cardstock which I love and Palette ink Starry Night which matched pretty well. After alternating the patterns in the pinwheel I needed something in the middle (TJ suggested a big brad or flower etc.) but I used a stamp from another new set Damask Backgrounder, stamped and punched with our Marvy punch and then mounted on another circle from Navy. Just a bit of blind in the center, a Happy Birthday and a bit of "scor-Buddy work on the bottom of the card. Can't wait to play some mroe with this technique using some of our new patterned paper. Go check out Carol's blog post from August 12 to see the pattern papers using this same technique.

Mice Day
Our anniversary is today - 19 years - one day at a time!!! Anyway when I sqw this set with the cute little mice I knew that is what I would use for my anniversary card to my DH. I colored the mice with copics - (a bit to dark I think) but next t me I will go a bit lighter with the browns. Anyway I think it turned out pretty well except for that, hope he likes!!!

New Catalog Swap
Now that I have my new catalog swap I will share the 2 that I sent in to swap. Sew Thankful is one of my favorite new sets this year - it has so many possibilities and you can dress it up or dress it down. I chose Uptown Girl as my DP and it worked perfect. Embossed the dress form added a bit of "colored to match" bling and easy-peasy.
Hedgehog Happiness was a bit more work - but it did turn out cute. I used Miss Moxie DP and worked my colors around the DP. I colored with copic markers, colored the flowers with glitter pens and pop-dotted them on top of the wagon. Tiny buttons for the wheels, a yelow/orange ribbon (had in my stash from MS) and for the life of me I can' remember what set I got the rolling by just to say hi but it worked very well for this set. I will be posting the anniversary card I made for DH as our anniversary is Monday so be on the watch.

Basic Blooms
Just playing around this afternoon - trying to get the creative MoJo going again - and came up with a simple little card using one of the TAC hostess sets Basic Blooms and a new nestie I got a couple of weeks ago. Did a little dotting with my white gel pen, Miss Moxie DP for some additional color and I used one of the tags from the Miss Moxie DP Pack. I never know what to do with all those tags. A cute button and some scrappers floss.

My dear granddaughter
We had a wedding to go to last evening (I made the wedding card that I posted earlier in the week) and my beautiful granddaughter was the maid of honor and this is a pic of her and I at the reception. She surprised me when she was the soloist at the wedding also and when she started singing she sounded like an angel. I'm off to my room to play so I will post a new card in a day or two.

Sew Thoughtful
This set is fast becoming one of my favorites from the new catalog - especially this image. I embossed the image with clear embossing powder, then the spools of thread I colored with copics and cut out, popped up with pop dots, hadded two black buttons sitting on top of each other - threaded with scrappers floss (a must have). Then the ribbon is from a dear angel from Paper Wings, she sent me a whole box of fun ribbon and fibers to play with. when I saw this pink, black and white I knew what I was going to do. Seems like it needs something on the right hand side below the ribbon but don't know what - any ideas???

Wedding Card
I have a wedding to attend this Sat. (my dear granddaughters roommate whom we have grown very attached to). She holds a very special place in my heart. I made this card using a new cuttlebug embossing folder that I got over at the Stamp Expo at Collinsville IL. back in June and I thought it was perfect for a wedding card. Our Savvy Sayings and frames just completed this card using Labels 4 nesties. Added a little bling and of course a little green in the card and complete.

Sew Thankful
I found a bit of time to play this afternoon and as this is one of my favorite new sets it was the one I picked up first, I also made another one that I will post soon and I used this set in a swap that we are having over at PaperWings. I used Palette Noir and then Transcedence Embossing powder on the sewing machine ( my grandma had one that looked like this). I used labels nesties to cut out the image. I made my background on white using the scissors and buttons. We had a challenge a few weeks ago at PaperWings and a dear angel sent me these tags and it was perfect for my message. Added a couple of black pearls some gingham ribbon and the card was finished. Easy Peasy. I am taking an order to a friend tomorrow and she ordered this set from my open house, I think i will give it to her.
