God Bless America
What a perfect image for this Memorial Day - I picked up this FREE - yes I said FREE digi image, already colored and ready to go over at Doodle Pantry. This image is free with any purchase and ...all images, templates, and downloadable papers are 35% off this weekend. Well I had to get a few images that I had been eyeing for a while - one in particular for DH who is an avid fisherman. For my card and challenge I used the image, Patchwork Star, the red/white strip paper is also from there, and I used some blue/star paper I had in my stash. We were also to use any papercrafting item and I choose to use red/white/blue scrappers floss through the button on the star, I also used a corner punch with a small star punch out on the top corners. Then I remembered I had the perfect stamp to go with and was so fitting for Memorial Day - Always Remember at the bottom of my card. It is a retired image from TAC but was perfect. I kept it simple as there just wasn't much else to do to make this card the perfect card for this holiday. Let us not forget all of our servicemen and women who are fighting for our freedom. "We will always remember"!

Simply Sweet
This month over at the Angel Company Blog we are having guest designers and a Card a Day challenge. There are sketches from Heather Scott each week for us to base our card on. I haven't had time to play until this week and this sketch fit what I was making. A girl at work is getting married and we are having a little surprise "girlie" shower for her and I thought this made up as a cute invitation. I used a stamp from Simply Sweet (retiring) as I thought it looked like a very pretty nightgown. Colored it with Copic markers and mounted it on a Spellbinders nesties which had a bit of a girlie feel. I had ribbon that matched very well, some blue pearls for my touch of bling and a scallop border. The sentiment is computer generated by me!! Why not go on over and see what all the designers have done this month - the ideas are endless.

May Paper Wings Blog Hop
May is always a "sad" time being a TAC instructor - we must say goodbye to some of our favorite images BUT...the anticipation of NEW images coming in June makes up for the ones we will be retiring. This month at PaperWings we are saying goodbye to some of our favorite images in a blog hop. I choose Spunky Sprite Girls - I purchased this set when it first came out as my dear GD was 6 and I thought this fit her perfectly. She is now 9and enjoys more of the "tween" images. A few weeks ago some friends and I took a class at the LSS in using Spellbinders" nesties. This card is an exact "CASE" from one we did in the class. I used the largest scallop circle and made my card base from kraft cs - then a pale pink circle and then the little spunky girl on the scallop circle. Colored with copic markers, a pink/white gingham bow and a pretty little rose complete my card. How cute did she turn out?? I am going to send it to dear GD just to let her know she is still my "little" sweet GD. Now why not hop on down the list and see what the other angels have choose as their "retiring" image.

Congrats!!!
My sweet friend is going to be so happy when she sees her card on my blog!!! I told her I wanted to scan it for the idea but didn't tell her it would be on my blog - SURPRISE Shelley!!! We both needed a graduation card - and right now TAC doesn't have any specific graduation images so...I thought this little girl from Savor the Sweetness was perfect. She colored hers (the green/purple) with pencil and OMS and I colored mine with copics, otherwise the layout is exactely the same. I think it made a really nice graduation card especially when you slip something green inside!! And how convienent both cards were for girl graduates. perfect.

Birdie on a Wire
A friend of mine came over yesterday late afternoon and told me she had to have a quick and easy Mothers Day card - how quick and easy was this card - talk about a ten minute wonder!! I used pre-colored Birdie on a Wire from here stamped the sentiment from TAC - cut image out with oval nestie, mounted on black beaded oval nested then mounted on digi paper from Doodle Pantry. I thought the clouds were so appropriate for this card - then my embellishment is a flower that one of my patients made for me - she crochets all the time and made me several. (I feel so blessed). A bit of pearl bling and the card was ready to given to a lucky Mother. I am entering this card over at Doodle Pantry for their current challenge, go to their blog and check out all the cute creations.

Cup of Kindness
Another cute digi from Whimsy and Stars Studio this is a Cup of Kindness and I paired it with a retired TAC set called Morning Buzz which worked perfect with this image. I paper pieced the cups with Fruitti Fusion DP colored the flowers with copics, the centers are dot sparkles and then used my stardust pen to add a bit more sparkle. I used labels 4 to cut out the image and used versamark to stamp the coffee beans on the main card. Easy Peasy and an all purpose card ready to go.

Feel Better Soon
This darling nurse is just what I was looking for when not 1 but 2 of our nurses from work both ended up in the hospital. She is a digi image from Whimsy and Stars Studio and are part of her new releases. Is she not just the cutest??? I colored her simply using copics and spica glitter pens, cut her out with labels 11 nesties and the card is the grand labels 11 nesties which I cut with my grand calibur. I had these bandaid eyelets for quite sometime and it was perfect, especially with a bit of red bling!!! On the inside I had a stamp that says Get Well Soon Nurses Orders. There will be 2 cards ready to go in the mail tomorrow.
