March 30, 2013 Chocolate Easter Bunnies

This sweet cutie is a freebie from Whimsie Doodles and she is so cute - I used my Spellbinders Egg dies and cut her "out of the box", paperpieced her dress and socks, then colored the rest of her with copic markers, - I paperpieced the I and chocolate bunny and then used a heart die and cut the heart out of red glitter paper.   Had a pad from Doodlebug Design called Hello Spring and it is filled with fun spring printed papers.  I "found" my bunny punch in my Easter box of stamps etc. and decided the Easter bunnies would really stand out with this image.  She will soon be on her way to my little chemo girl out of state.

This set is Doodle Pantry Easter Egg Ants, it comes with a precoloerd image as well as black/white image, and 2 pattern papers.  This card is called a "cascading" card - directions were in Card Maker Magazine Spring 2013 as well as several sites on line.  I had to go on line and watch a video to successfully put the card together.  Anyway that said - I think it turned out just too darn cute!!!  This one will go to my new sweet great granddaughter for her first Easter - which I hope her Mom puts away for her.

March 24, 2013 Kitty Sympathy Card

As some of you may know our sweet kitty of 20 years passed away last week - Thomas lead a very happy life and was so loved by not only family but by friends.  My bestie Donna always said thomas was her favorite out of all our fur babies - and she would bring him treats, play with him and take his picture when she came to visit.  I was not totally surprised when I got this beautiful heartfelt sympathy card in the mail this week - the kitty image is colored just like Thomas and she hand crocheted the heart and put the string under his paw.  Thank you so much friend for thinking of me.

March 22, 2013 Washin'Board

I DID IT!!!  I "merged" two images into one - I was totally stumped on how to use PNG images until one of my besties Pat showed me how to work with the Png images plus some hints from the wonderful design team I am so lucky to be a part of Doodle Pantry DT, so with lots of patience they all "walked" me through this process.  PNG images are transparent - well sort of - and you can layer with PNG images so for my first try I was so HAPPY with the outcome.  Printed off a black/white image WashinBoard colored it with my Koh-I-Noor pencils blended with OMS but out with spellbinders and my card was ready to put together.  I have a friend that spends 6 months in AZ and is due to return next week so I want this to be in her mailbox when she gets home.

March 20, 2013 Quirky Frog

Had a "special" request for a little chemo teen that loved frogs so I knew which one I was going to use for her card.  Printed "her" out precolored as well as the digi papers that come with her Doodle Pantry Quirky Frog  ran some heavier white cs through the cuttlebug with my NEW hexagon embossing folder - then I was thinking - I have a hexagon punch from Creative Memories (now to find it!!!) and I did and the smallest size was perfect so I just punched them out of the wonderful designed,colored papers that come with this set.  I think it just added some fun to the front of the card.  Hope this brings a fun smile to the girl that will receive this cute frog card.  Entered in Challenges:

My bestie called me with the wonderful news that she was going to be a Grandma - so...I quickly had to get a card made and in the mail to her along with a couple of stamped images that she requested.  For the design of the card I used the pattern that I received from another great friend Diane.  Since I received this card I have made 3 cards using this same pattern - I love it because you can use two different design papers, ribbon embellishments punches etc.  All this card needed was the Gramma 2Be sentiment and the card was ready to go in the mail.

Just a quick St. Pats card that I am sending to my chemo lady - it all came together so well using the precolored image from Doodle Pantry  as well as the papers that come in a separate package St. Paddy Papers also from Doodle pantry.  I had the ribbon in my stash and the colors on the ribbon scanned "too green" it did go very well with the card.  I'm thinking my lady will enjoy getting a special card this weekend.

March 14, 2013 Quirky Owl Bag

Is this just not the cutest???  When I saw this on Soapbox Creations blog I knew I HAD to have one - well she was already sold out - so I watched with eagle eye and she restocked (and is again sold out) and ordered it.  Well I already had the occasion and the idea in my creative mind as I had a baby baptism coming up.  This die is so awesome and so easy to work with as well as working with Doodle Pantry Quirky Owl which was precolored and had matching design paper so this beautiful bag only needed a rosette (which are so easy and fun to make), some spellbinder dies and some pink tissue paper. This not only decorates the gift bag but you also have your card to show off on the outside as well.  Why the owl - well Isabella's room is decorated in owl motif.

As a lot of you know I have a precious new great granddaughter named Isabella and when i saw this digi image at Little Miss Muffet and saw the name Isabella I knew I not only needed this image but had to have it!!!  Isabella was baptized this past Sunday and although this is a non traditional card for a baptism it worked.  My granddaughter Paige has dark hair and I think I captured her hair color pretty well with my copic markers and little Isabella has a more reddish/brown tint to her hair so far.  I paper pieced the dress and the baby sleeper. I am hoping Paige will keep this card to show Isabella when she gets a little older.

When I saw that Doodle Pantry was sponsoring the challenge for Pile it On was So Yummy I knew this image Cheeseburger Ants was perfect for this challenge.  Laurie's signature images usually have these cute little ants - and a lot of the time they are "getting in trouble" like they are here!!!   The design paper comes with this set and reminds me of a checkered tablecloth.  I usually use flat bling on my cards as the majority of them get mailed out hence "extra" postage so I had these cute little black stickons and thought they completed the circle perfectly.     Also entered in:

Had a request to send a ray of sunshine to a chemo patient and I knew exactly which image I was going to send,.  I had colored this image up last summer while camping (hubby fishes and I take stuff to sit and color).  Thought these papers matched very nicely and just a bit of diamond dot bling (does not add bulk to the card) this card was in the mail this morning.  Entered in:

March 1, 2013 Pitcher and Basin

Once again it is time for the new releases from Doodle Pantry and this month is fun filled with new Easter and spring creations as well as a couple of vintage images.  I choose the pitcher and basin precolored for the sentimental value it had.  My mom had one of these for years and unfortunately I did not get it when she passed, but the memory of the pitcher and basin are still in my mind.  I am trying my wings so to speak and taking a few plunges with printing, I printed this image directly on the doily and I think it turned out very well. I love center step cards and they are easy to make.  To add to the vintage look I pulled out my box with the laces and thought this was the perfect embellishment, added a bit of bling and card complete.

For my second creation for todays release I used the Catapillar Swing which Laurie has added color to,  I love making easel cards especially shaped easel cards I chose to color him myself so I could use some soft fun flocking.  Then I added a bit of flower soft to his antennas.  I wanted to have him swinging through the clouds and then decided to add a couple of butterflies. This is a touch card with lots of texture and fun appeal and I already have an envelope addressed for this card to go to a new home.  I know you are going to love all the new releases that Doodle Pantry has this month plus enter the challenge and you will receive a free set just for entering.
