January 30 2015 Fun with Washi Tape

Last week I had a 2 1/2 day mini vacation - started with Book Club on Jan. 19 (my first meeting and I really enjoyed it), stayed all night with a friend I went to nursing school with, on Tuesday the 20th went to IHOP for pancake breakfast and on the another BFF Donna a friend that I met when I got my first job as a RN - she was pregnant with her first child and he is now 32 - WOW.  We share the passion of paper crafting as well as a very close friendship.  Stayed all night at her house then on Wednesday am got up and met my son at Starbucks for coffee and headed home.  It was just what I needed to restart my MoJo.  We played with washi tape - and who hasn't got lots of this around - this is such a fun technique - and I love the result.  I had seen this on a blog I follow Simplicity she does such beautiful CAS and love her dialog also.  Both of these cards are on their way this week but I will surely be making more.

January 27, 2015 Valentine Tree

I have had this stamp set from Taylored Expressions for quite sometime and I am 'trying" to use some stamps that have never seen ink and this was one of the sets Love Grows Here, such a versatile set - don't know why I haven't used it before.  Colored with copic markers, spellbinders dies, hearts from AMuse dies as well as the sentiment Happy Valentines Day.  Just got some red glittered heart ribbon last week at Michaels, had a coupon 30% off EVERYTHING - love those kind of sales.  This is going in my package to granddaughter next week.  Challenges:
     Sketch Saturday - follow sketch
Pile it On - use hearts and/or flowers - I used hearts
Left of Center - Use at least 3 layers

January 21, 2015 Keep your chin Up

Just got this stamp set from CTMH - and had the right occasion to use it.  My granddaughter experienced a "huge" disappointment over the weekend - (the first of many I am sure as she just turned 13).  and I am hoping this card from Grandma will make things better.  The sentiment on the inside states - "It will be OK".  There is just a hint of color with coloring the green leaves and a in the tiny flowers there is a hint of orange/red.  This went perfect with DP from My Minds Eye that was on clearance at Michaels for $1.79 plus 30% off and it is double sided sided.  Love double sided DP.  Entering challenges:
     Sketch Saturday  - follow sketch
     Whoopsi Daisy - anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - anything goes

January 20, 2015 Tag Valentine

I am finally in the mood to make a few Valentine cards - and again this one is cased from my upline at AMuse Studio - Chelsea - she is so creative.  I had bought the stamp/die set last year (I believe it is from Hero Art) and started punching and die cutting hearts.  CS is from AMuse studio and it all matches so perfectly.  a little xoxo sentiment and a red heart enamel bling from CTMH and this card is ready to go in the mail in a couple of weeks.

January 17, 2015 Valentine

I must confess I totally cased this from Simplicity she has such a CAS style and I can never seem to achieve that look as I always think it needs more!!!  I used two different size hearts for these two cards - and don't know which one I like better - I really love them both - some washi tape a sentiment and card created - in about 5 minutes.  I think I am going to look and see what other die cuts I have that I can use with this technique.                Challenges:
Crafting from the Heart - anything goes
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - anything goes

Calendar 2015

Every year one of my first projects of January is to make this flip calendar.  This year I didn't get to them quite as quickly as I should have but life gets in the way sometimes.  I print out my 12 month calendar, choose designer paper - in this case I use papers from an old DCWV paper pack from Archivers that I love and wish you could still get.  Stamped my trees (old old set from SU) on white cs, colored and punched with my circle punch (glad I kept my punches) then choose a Spellbinders die that the circle would fit on and glued that on the black.  The sentiment is perfect for this type of project as it had all four seasons so I use it quite often (it is from TAC which is no longer in business).   Mount it all on a half sheet of black cs, using both sides.  Tie with black/white ribbon and when the first 6 months are completed untie ribbon, flip and retie the ribbon so the last six months are on the outside.
I sent two of these to my chemo buddies this week as well as one to my daughter for her desk at work, every year she always asks me if I am going to make the calendars again this year.  Well the answer is "of course"
Challenges:  Whoopsi Daisy - anything goes
Crafting from the Heart - anything goes
Simply Create Too - celebrate - (celebrate the new year)

January 5, 2015 The Hunter

Seems like there have been several requests for chemo buddies needing a special lift of encouragement.  We don't get a lot of male requests but when we did I knew what image I was going to use, it is from Pickled Potpourri a digi with 3 images - I love silhouettes - and this one was no exception.  I used my stitched rounded rectangles die - love the stitched effect, the Thinking of You is from CTMH (close to my heart) and cs is from AMuse studio.  I followed a sketch from Sketch Saturday to enter in their challenge this week.  This was a fun easy peasy card to put together and I am hoping the gentlemen will smile when he receives this card.      Challenges:
     Sketch Saturday - follow sketch
Divas by Design - anything goes
     DL.ART - anything goes

January 1, 2015 Happy New Year

Sending Happy New Year wishes to all my friends and hoping 2015 is filled with happiness, good health, peace and surprises.
This was a fun card to put together and I am liking the end result.  You know how you add a bit of this and a little of that and well it turned out pretty nice.  This is a precolored digi from Doodle Pantry and the DP is included in the set too.  I used my stitched circle dies (which I love) and then decided to cut out numbers in gold also.  The number dies are from AMuse Studio.
