July 26, 2017 ANYTHING GOES

Easy Peasy - anything goes this week over at The House that Stamps Built.

It is HOT here is southern Missouri - even sitting out under a Summer Tree1613J
there is not much a breeze or escape from the heat.  So much better to be sitting inside creating in my craft room or in my chair reading a new summer series book.  For my sentiment I used Happy Summer 9003E only a couple of weeks ago I cut the words apart for more versatility.  I only had room for Summer on this card so that is all I used.  I watercolor washed the background of my picture and I just got a new die cut for this chair which fits perfectly under the tree.
Hope you are enjoying your summer so far - and yes there are already school supplies out at WalMart and Dollar General.

July 19, 2017 Photo Inspiration

This week over at the House that Stamps Built our challenge was the photo below:

And here is my take on this challenge.  I didn't realize that it is very similar to the scene card that I created last week BUT - this time I used REAL Sand as my beach.  I had spray adhesive after masking off the top of the card and I had some sand that I was originally going to make a shaker card but didn't.  For this card I used Happy Summer 9003-E I cut the words apart for a little more versatility and made it into a banner.  I then used the darling Flip Flops 8719-G and then the Small Starfish 4111-F .  I sponged some "new" oxide inks to create the water and sky - love these new inks - they blend so nicely.

July 12, 2017 TicTacToe Challenge

This week at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is TicTacToe - and I love this challenge.  Below is out challenge in the TicTacToe

I choose to go with polka dots, paper piecing and stitching - (I used a die with faux stitching).  I love this stamp - Cool Treats 9008-N and the saying is 

Sweet Things 9007-E.  The Cool Treats comes with two ice cream bars and the ice cream cone, I cut the images apart for more versatility and made a three dip ice cream cone.  There is no way I could eat a three dipper but looks good!!!

July 5, 2017 Make a Scene

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is designers choice which was Make a Scene.  When I think of July I think of being on the beach in flip flops 8719-G ,Sandcastle 9016-M Sand Castle, and Starfish 4111-F.  My grandkids were going to FL. so I send them a little spending money and made them the card to tell them to have fun in the sun and the sand castle and flip flops were perfect.  I used torn sandpaper for the beach and then mounted on Kraft paper.

July 1, 2016 House of Cards Monthly Challenge

This month over at The House of Cards our July challenge is stripes and/or colors.

I choose to go with the stripes and make a pop and twist card.

This is such a fun card to make - after you learn how to make the actual mechanism.  I have made about a dozen now and keep coming up with ideas.  In fact I taught a class in how to make this card at my house this past week.
