Happy Easter

This is a "simple" "easy" "quick" card and you can use any occasion by changing the greeting. I used Pop Rockz DP from TAC - which can be used for lots of occasions. I did some quick stitching on my sewing machine - no thread just pierced the line with the sewing machine needle. I had some cute little bunny brads in my stash which completed the card.

Snail Mail - Lady Bug

I told you in my last post that I was working on a cute little lady bug from the TAC SOTM set Snail Mail - this is such a cute set very simple images which you can color plain, paper piece or with glitter pens like the lady bug. IRL she sparkles and shines. I had some glitter shiny glam red which worked perfect for this card. Now the fun part was using my piercing tool and guide to pierce the holes then I took my white gel pen and "stitched" the line. Looks almost like real stitching. This will be one of those go to sets when I need a quick card.

Snail Mail

I made 2 quick cards last pm using our new SOTM called Snail Mail - I think the set is so cute - can be used for just about any occasion. I have one more to play with and that is the cute little lady bug so that will be my next post. You will note on the center of the cute flower I used yellow flower soft. Makes you want to touch - looks like a real flower. This time when I used flower soft I used the "specific flower soft liquid glue) and I think it did work better. I am a sucker for desiginated specific stuff!!!

Vintage Backgrounds

I have been seeing these ruffled paper flowers on several blogs so I watched a tutorial and made my own. I have been wanting to use the new Vintage Backgrounds for a while but just didn't quite know what I wanted to do. I was "cleaning" a bit this afternoon and when I saw the sheet music I knew exactely what my plan was. Very simple using gold and white, I always try to add lots of layers, lots of embellishments but I think this one looks just fine just the way it is!!!

Easter Blog Hop

We are having a blog hop with the Paper Wings group so I came up with some new ideas to inspire you for Easter. I found these tubes at Hobby lobby in the beading section, filled with jelly beans and added tags from Easter Chicks and The Joy of Easter and some Easter Ribbon and have some cute little jelly bean holders. The next 2 are cards, the lamb card is done using More Mimi DP, pink cs, cuttlebug embossing folder, ovals cut with nesties and the lamb colored with copics and the star glaze jelly pen on the cross. Added a couple of pearl blings for embellishment. The next project is my first attempt at the stand up pop up card and it turned out okay - I used the little girl from The Joy of Easter, paper pieced her dress, colored her hair and skin with copics. DP from Lilly Anna - its bright colors just had an Easter flair. Embellished with a few pink pearls on the bottom and some pink Easter Ribbon tied in a cute little bow. I also took a shot from above so you could see the Happy Easter Greeing. For mailing this card folds down flat to fit in an A2 envie. Now hop on over and see what the other girls have made for the Easter blog hop.

Birthday Pocket Card

One of my BFFs Donna birthday was in February so I was on a roll with these pocket cards - I think this one turned out just so cute - and instead of the flower in the pot I punched a candle for her birthday and put it in the pot. These are really easy to make and result in a "wow" factor. I am so enjoying the new Wonder and Joy set - it has endless possibilities.

Paper Embroidery Card

I am in a stamp group - Paper Dolls (isn't that a cute name???). Yesterday my friend and fellow stamper Joan C. had the projects and we did paper embroidery and I thought this card turned out just spectacular. The gold cross and the variegated purple thread were just perfect for the project. I came home and added the Happy Easter from TAC and the gold corners, mounded it on a bit of purple shimmer and then dark purple and card complete. Thanks Joan for sharing this with us.

Butterfly Swirls

Our swaps' group theme for February was Sympathy - I made several before I decided on the one I wanted to make 10 of. For this card I used a spellbinders die cut frame and just stamped the swirl in the left corner. The simple message in the opposite corner completed the card. Seems like when you need a sympathy card you never have any on hand so now I have a fdw to choose from.
