January 29, 2016 Elephant Shaker Card
Is this not totally cute - another one of Gerda Steiner images from Heavy Friends stamp set which you can find here. There is not a single stamp set of hers that I wouldn't like to own - they are whimsical fun and versatile. For this one I used sticky back fun foam to cut out my hearts to make the shaker card. colored the elephant with copic markers and looks like he is blowing out the hearts. I'm thinking this one will go to my sweet great granddaughter Bella. Gerda has a Guest DT call and this is what I decided to submit.

January 27, 2016 Valentine Balloons
Two Valentines - same concept but "different" - I have 2 sets of borders which I used for the string of the attached balloons. The hearts are by Stampabilities and the words are from Lawn Fawn. There are several borders in each set and they are fun to play with. The balloon dies are from AMuse Studio as well as the DP. I love AMuse papers as they all coordinate without much thinking. Only a few more Valentines to go for this year.

January 26, 2016 Crazy Bird Birthday
Love these Crazy Birds by Tim Holtz plus the accessories to go with them plus some cute says that go along with them. OK - when I get something I want the "whole" package as in image and dies and sentiments. OK now that is out of the way. I colored this guy with Dewert Ink Intense pencils and OMS, cut his hat out of some burlap fabric cs I had. Put a red band on the hat as well as cut the Happy Birthday Balloon . DP is from a pack from my stash. That is usually one thing I try not to "over-buy" . This is headed for one of my besties husband who had a birthday this past weekend.

January 25, 2016 Black/white combo
These two cards were made with the cutout when I used a die - the negative space was used for another card (which I really didn't like) LOL. But love how these two cards turned out - black and white, tiny bow (bow easy), some sequins on the top one and some got on the second one. Fun to make.

January 23, 2016 Bunny Enjoy
This is one of the images that has been sitting in my "finished" coloring basket - (oh my have lots more to color), it was part of a set that I stamped up when I was crafting with a bestie Donna last year. Colored with Inktense watercolors and somehow it matched perfect with the DP I had. Just a cute whimsy card with a few sequins scattered around - sequins (love using them). Enjoy is a die from SSS and the dot is a cute tiny flower sequin from Pink Posh.

January 21, 2016 Clock
I don't often participate in "color" challenges as it is a real CHALLENGE for me. LOL But I won this design a few weeks from MHK Designs and love the images that are included in this set. which you can see here.
I remember my grandmother had a clock like this sitting on the mantle - so the image combined with the color challenge plus a "new to me" technique turned my creativity on. The technique is called faux metal and it is a fun technique. You can find the instructions here:. I had so much fun with this technique, my only problem was find the right kind of masking tape that would tear my cs up when I removed the tape. I found some post-it tape in my stash. IRL this has a real pretty sparkle using perfect pearls, another item in my stash that I have not used in a LONG LONG time. So why not give this challenge a try. Challenges:

January 18, 2016 Valentine Kitty
Love this darling kitty - Love your Kitten by Gerda Steiner Designs which was a "free" digi for us to create with for the monthly Progressive Challenge. There has been nothing that she has created that I have not loved and seems like she is always coming out with more must have designs. I colored the kitten with copic markers, popped him up with some foam squares onto a frame I made and the sentiment "you make my heart Hasppy by AMuse Studio. How fitting for Valentines day. Thought it still needed something else - and still not sure but I cut out some x's and o'x and scattered them around the card.

January 16, 2016 Only God
I think this is one of my favorite stamps from Gina k Designs, the message is so very true and I often have to remember this saying as it applies to my own life. Very simple - black embossed cs with cuttlebug folder and message stamped on white with Versa-fine ink (love the crisp image) and some black/white bakers twine from AMuse Studio. I need to make up a few more of these as they will work for several occasions.

January 14, 2016 Birds on a Wire
Another card using something I had never used before - I have had this die for quite some time Birds on a Wire from Little Miss Muffet - I used a scroll stamp from Lawn Fawn - set has 6 or 7 beautiful scroll across the card sentiments, and then sponged in some clouds. This is perfect for just about any of the special requests I get from Chemo Angels - in fact this one is in the mail. Love the black/white and the die cut. Challenges:

January 11, 2016 HI
I participate in a monthly swap with Technique Junkie and we have to use one of the techniques either on the blog or on a CD that has been published. This technique is "layered washi". I have a LOT of washi tape so I decided this year was the year to use some of my "stash". I embossed the bottom 2/3 of the card using a cuttlebug folder and then distressed a bit with black soot ink, and then cut out a die cut from Memory box that I love (thanks Pam) and a hi and dotted the i with a small star. I like the way it turned out and I hope my swap partner does too. Challenges:
Crafting When we Can - use something new (die)
Crafty Calender - something new - new die in my stash
Brown Sugar - anything goes

January 9, 2016 Sympathy Card
Sympathy cards are never easy for anyone to make - especially when one of your besties looses their fur baby. This has already went out in the mail and hoping she has gotten my card and hope it has brought the grieving a bit easier. Our pets take a piece of our heart when they cross the rainbow bridge. Flake you can now run with Stella.

January 1, 2015 House of Cards January Challenge - Embossed
This is my first post as a House of Cards member - I am so excited to be a part of this amazing team and talent. For the first challenge we were to using embossing and/or colors. I choose to do embossing. Go check out the simple rules for playing along with this months challenge HERE and then enter your creation at House of Cards
I used a stamp set from Hero Arts, Kraft card stock and white embossing powder, embossed my images in white and colored in the open areas with Tombow markers. I wanted a bright and cheery card so I used purples, blues, and green with a touch of yellow in the sentiment. I have been playing more with my sequins so I scattered a few on my panel. I am hoping this card will bring a smile to one of my senior buddies this week when I get her a small giftie package together. Challenges:
Crafting from the Heart - anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown - anything goes
Crafty Gals Corner - anything goes
