January 21, 2016 Clock
I don't often participate in "color" challenges as it is a real CHALLENGE for me. LOL But I won this design a few weeks from MHK Designs and love the images that are included in this set. which you can see here.
I remember my grandmother had a clock like this sitting on the mantle - so the image combined with the color challenge plus a "new to me" technique turned my creativity on. The technique is called faux metal and it is a fun technique. You can find the instructions here:. I had so much fun with this technique, my only problem was find the right kind of masking tape that would tear my cs up when I removed the tape. I found some post-it tape in my stash. IRL this has a real pretty sparkle using perfect pearls, another item in my stash that I have not used in a LONG LONG time. So why not give this challenge a try. Challenges:
MHK Designs - color challenge
Decorate to Celebrate - anything goes
Our Crafty Corner - anything goes
Where the Heart Is - anything goes

Great card Shirley! I love the faux metal look you did. I also struggle with color challenges but I like what you did here.

Beautiful card, Shirley! This faux metal technique looks like so much fun. I'm definitely going to try it - maybe for some Valentine cards.
Stunning card, Shirley. The faux metal technique work perfectly with the focal image you've used from the Rock My World digi set. Love the nostalgic vibe of this card. We are thrilled to see your project in our first challenge at MHKDesigns. Thank you so much for playing along and we hope to see more lovely projects from you.
