August 31, 2016 Anything Goes THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT
I always love when there is the 5th Wednesday in a month because that means ANYTHING GOES over at The House that Stamps Built. I used 10202Q Flower Power Frame and in the middle of this beautful floral frame I used God Bless You 3917F. I water colored the flowers and leaves - cut out my image with a pretty doily die cut I have and then hmmm...decided it still needed more. The lst time one of my besties and I were shopping at our favorite little stamp shop in Kimswick MO. we found these ready made ready to go shaker frames. They are made by Queen and Co. and are very reasonable. I filled my center with some pink flowers and some pink buttercup sequins. Well then I had a bit of a dilemma - I needed to cover up the white foam on the shaker frame, so out came my circle dies and some scrap cs and finally got one that worked perfectly. I really like how this turned out.
Hoping you will create a card over at The House that Stamps Built. You don't have to use a REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamp but if you do you will an additional entry in the random drawing drawing for a a $25 REPEAT IMPRESSIONS gift certificate. August 27, 2016 Hello Butterfly
This card is totally cased from Sally McDonald SU Demonstrator (and I am can't find her blog currently). I will link to her blog when I talk to her. She had an open house a couple of weeks ago and we made a card very similar to this one and well I LOVED it. I bought a Simon Says Die (with my birthday coupon), die cut it out mounted it on some pretty paper, then glued the cut image back in place. The sentiment, a bow and some hand made enamel dots (Nuvo) finished this card. I know I will be making more of these for sure.

August 24, 2016 THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT - Sketch Challenge
This is the 4th Wednesday of August - oh where has the summer gone?? This week our challenge is a sketch challenge. I used the Starfish Shell Lg. 4110-K and Starfish Shell Sm. 4111-F for the challenge this week I sponged in my background with distress inks. I then embossed the shells and fussy cut them out and popped them up with pop dots. I used the saying For The Beauty 3213-G and embellished it with some tiny sea shells I had in my stash. I'm thinking this will be a good card for several occasions - especially to my chemo buddies

August 17, 2016 THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT - Photo Inspiration
This week over at THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT we have a beautiful photo inspiration of a lighthouse. As our owner lives in Maine - her light house stamps are simply beautiful - in fact she has a whole series called Lighthouses over at REPEAT IMPRESSIONS.
I used three different stamps to make my card: Lighthouse Cape Hatteras 3003K, Wine Time Ship 9508J, and Journey - Metro Map 5814N.
My daughter has a friend that is going abroad for a semester to study and she asked me if I had any ideas for a card - well this popped into my head. I die cut the sentiment Good Luck as I thought it was appropriate for the occasion, The yellow enamel dot is to note her destination. I am hoping dear daughter likes her card.

August 15, 2016 Happy Birthday Tulip
I've had this SU tulip image stamped up for a while - and in going through a "box" of things to finish projects I found it and decided to make a birthday card. August has a lot of birthdays - in fact two ladies from my book club this evening as well as ME have August birthdays. So this is going to one of the gals. Not my usual style - but I think it turned out fine with using the washi tapes and the bling (from my box of "special" bling).

August 13, 2016 Happy Birthday Dog
Have lots of August birthdays - including MINE!!! This one is for our Bible Study leader - and loved how it turned out. I metone of my BFF's Donna Wednesday for breakfast and a little shopping and this was one of my birthday gifties from her. I knew Tim Holtz had a set of Crazy Cats but didn't know about the dogs so I was super surprised. AND the fun part is all of the accessories from Crazy Birds as well as the sayings fit this set of dogs as well. Brilliant. I stamped him on watercolor paper - (thank you for the Misti), water colored him - die cut Happy Birthday, and used my enamel dots for his collar. I'm thinking Dan will like this card.

August 11, 2016 - Fall Fox
My first fall card of the season - and I'm loving this darling fox by Gerda Steiner this little guy colored up very nicely using copic markers YR14 YR27 and E08 - greens for the grass and some cracker box eyes. Met one of my besties Donna yesterday for breakfast and shopping at our favorite little stamp store in Kimmswick MO. I DID NOT buy any stamps - but I did get 3 new embossing folders and this was one of them by Darcie. I used white core paper to run it through my cuttlebug and then sanded to bring out some highlights. Had a few punched leaves - and some very pretty bg papers with fall colors. I then cut out "hello" - three times - glued them alltogether and then glued it to the card. I have seen other people do this but have never tried it myself. Love this idea.
Then I played around with a bit of staging my card - had gotten a gold S at Hobby Lobby last week - piece of wood that hubby cut for me and a lacey gold doily. Doubt if I would stage all of my cards in this fashion but was kind of fun . Challenge:
Gerda Steiner Designs - monthly challenge
Morgans Art World - use 3 of something (leaves)

Creative Moments - anything goes with a twist to use a circle

August 10, 2016 Designer Choice - Circle Card
This week our DT member Kathy was our designer of the week and she choose our challenge to be circle cards. I have been wanting to make a circle telescoping card for a while and this was the inspiration I needed. I have several birthdays in August so I choose to go with Birthday theme.
I used: 9205-O Hydrangea
I watched a couple of tutorials on Pintrest just to see how they went together and then I flew with my own. I am pleased at how it turned out and I know who I am going to send this one too in a couple of days. In fact she and I share a birthday.

August 8, 2016 Selfie Kitty
This was the first Gerda Steiner stamp set I bought - Playful Kitten which I fell in love with. Then there was a tutorial on SCS on "selfie" cards and I immediately thought of this kitten under her blanket. Love how it turned out. This card is out the door this am to one of my Senior Buddies who likes cats. I think the little red enamel hearts finished the scene off perfectly. Challenges:

August 3, 2016 THE HOUSE THAT CARDS BUILT COLOR CHALLENGE
OMG - August already - where has the summer gone - way too fast - and August will go quickly too. This week at THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT. The first week of the month is our color challenge and I used 10301-H Patti's Flower, 3106D - Count your blessings and on the inside of my Z-fold card I used 10100 You Series . I had not made a Z-fold card for a while until a friend had a Christmas class and one of the cards was a Z-fold so I changed it up a bit using my spellbinders label dies to give it a little flair.
Hoping you will create a card over at The House that Stamps Built. August 1, 2016 - HOUSE OF CARDS
Time for another challenge over at the THE HOUSE OF CARDS and our challenge was a color challenge/or use twine, well I choose to do a little of both. Using Blooming Digital Stamp Set - which is a great digi set from MHKDesigns. The set has 3 images and 3 sentiments and works up very nicely for just about any occasion. For this card I decided to do some colors - twine, sequins, and lots of layers. I already have this card ready to go in the mail to a sweet Senior Buddy that I send cards to weekly. Come join our challenge over at The House of Cards. Will be looking for your great creations to this challenge this month. Challenge:

August 1, 2016 Flipped Corner Tutorial for The House That Stamps Built
GOOD MONDAY MORNING - this week it is my turn to do our weekly tutorial and I have had several people ask me how to do the flipped corner card that I enjoy making. My card here shows this technique. This tutorial is HEAVY with pictures so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy:
Supplies include cardstock, paper trimmer, bone folder, and I choose to use REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamps 9724G - Happy Frog and 9704F Un-frog-ettable .
Use your bone folder to get a nice crease.
Attach to card with glue runner or adhesive of your choice.
Supplies include cardstock, paper trimmer, bone folder, and I choose to use REPEAT IMPRESSIONS stamps 9724G - Happy Frog and 9704F Un-frog-ettable .
As you can see I added a post-it-note 3 x 3 in the upper right corner of the card so you visualize the cut a little more clearly. Score your base cardstock at 4 1/4 inch.
Place the 5 1/2 inch side of your card at the 3 inch mark on your cutter - starting at the 5/8 inch mark cut down to the 3 inch mark on your cutter ruler.
Turn cardstock and place the scored center fold line at 1 1/2 inches on your cutter, cut from 5/8 from top down to 3 inch line. your two corner cuts should meet.
Push the left cut corner down and under as show in the picture above.
Stamp your image on a 2 1/4 inch square of white cardstock.
Color your image using color medium of choice - I used colored pencils and OMS to color this frog. Mount this image on a 2 1/2 inch square and then again on a 2 3/4 inch square.
Attach to card with glue runner or adhesive of your choice.
Apply a bit of adhesive or a glue dot under the corners where the arrows are.
Add sentiment or embellishment of your choice to front of card.
