May 27, 2020 Anything Goes

Wow another month on the last week, even with everything going on in our world the time has still gone fast.  This week over at The House that Stamps Built  our challenge is Anything Goes.

I choose this stamp for one of my chemo patients - it is simple and the sentiment is very heartfelt.  I used 6113-K Life is not  and for my main image I used
5709-I Gingko.  I think this is a stand alone stamp meaning it simply doesn't need much bling or embellishment to make a statement.  I decorated the envelope with the Gingko as well.  I enclosed a cross book mark that one of our Chemo Angels makes and sells very reasonably and will slip in the card without adding any postage.  I had this one that matched my ink as well as my DP.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Anything Goes So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps. May 22, 2020 Baby Card

Our wonder vet is due with her second child in June.  She already has a boy that is 7 and this one is to be a girl.
I used a favorite quilt die that a dear friend gave me a couple of years ago for my birthday.  It is from MFT and I have used it quite often for Christmas cards, friendship cards and now a baby card.  I used some baby prints from a big pack of 12 x 12 papers that I have had for a really long time to cut my pieces out.  I cut the frame out using the pink gingham - then it is just a matter of fitting the pieces together, like a jigsaw puzzle, I find this quite relaxing.  I die cut the sentiment Congratulations from pink gingham.  A gift card is inside - diapers, onesies, whatever she needs will be put to good use.

This is another quilt card I made - this one more of a friendship, thinking of you card using SU papers and SU floral image for the center.  For sentiment I die cut smile 3 times, glued them together and then versamark and clear embossing powder.  I'm thinking this one will go out next week with my chemo cards.

This die is well worth the investment (or to give as a gift) and I plan on using it many more times.

May 20, 2020 Photo Inspiration

This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is a photo inspiration.

I chose to go with the colors - as I had a piece of origami paper with the colors that matched almost perfect.  And for my image I used 5707-M Fan and for my sentiment I chose 6521-B Have Faith.  I stenciled the background in colors using Distress oxides.  I tried to match the colors with the colors in the fans.  Then I cut a frame out of a coordinating orange.  I stamped and fussy cut two fans and positioned them in the frame - put my sentiment in the middle and added just a little extra with sequins.  This card is going out the door this week for a special family member that was recently diagnosed with cancer.

May 13, 2020 Tic Tac Toe

This week over at The House that Stamps Built it is Tic Tac Toe week - one of my favorite.

I chose to do an easel, bright colors and friendship.  Not just a single easel but a triple easel.  This was one of my favorite folds last week and I made several.  But for this challenge I used:
                                          9302-P Cupcakes
                                          9309-C Tiny Cupcakes
                                         1904-I A Special Wish

I had some pretty cupcake paper that I thought went with this as well as a coordinating "sprinkles" DP - I colored my images with copic markers and fussy cut them out - adding some diamond glaze on the sprinkles and cherry.  For my sentiment I used a special wish and left it at that so I could use it for more than just one occasion.  I had some pretty sparkle enamel dots that I used on the sentiment as well as one for the stopper on the last easel.

I found the directions on Pinterest and just worked along with the video.  I think it "makes" a little gift on its own.

May 11, 2020 Project of the Week

This week  over at The House that Stamps Built it is my week to show off my POTW which is using an "old" product Ultra thick Embossing Enamel.  I'm not sure if there is an expiration on this stuff as I have had if for at least 10+ years.  So lets gather our supplies - I'll wait until you try and find your Ultra thick.

I used the following three Repeat Impressions stamps for my project.

I stamped my border on my base card in black - just for a little added interest.

I then stamped the butterfly twice on my designer paper in black.

I stamped the butterfly image twice on white card stock and fussy cut.

Using the Versa Mark pad I inked up the two butterflies - using the Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel I sprinkled the powder over the butterflies.  I heated with my heat gun.  Let cool - (don't touch while hot)  ask me how I know. Do this at least 2 more times - and you will get a beautiful embellishment for your card or project.

And below is the finished card.  I glued my embellishments on with glossy accents - which is a strong glue.  I glued the embellishments over the original butterflies I stamped on my designer paper.

May 8, 2020 Star Gazing

I recently borrowed this set from a friend and really enjoyed making up a few cards.  This is a set that had no interest for me until I strted playing with it and seeing what was on Pinterest.  These are all SU images.

I thought the Silhouette Scenes worked very well with the Star Gazing.  I'm thinking about using the last one for a graduation card.

May 6, 2020 Designer Choice Spring Flowers

Another month is gone, and time for our designer choice challenge - thismonth our Rock Star is Joy and for The House that Stamps Built  challenge she choice Spring Flowers.  So many choices are available for this challenge, I had trouble deciding which one I wanted to use.

I went with 9205-O Hydrangea.  I first embossed a "frame" for my focal image - colored the flowers with copic markers as well as the bee and used some dimensions on the wings of the bee, decided it needed just a bit of color so tied a double bow with two different shades of ribbon.  Since our theme was Spring Flowers I used 1301-F Happy Spring - but just using the word spring.  This card will be an all purpose card for me - the special requests for Chemo Angels has almost doubled - so I have been sending out cards daily.  I think this one will brighten someones day.

Now it is your turn to make a card or project using the challenge of Designer Choice So many possibilities on this challenge.  You have a full month to enter our challenge.  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps you will have two chances to win a $25 gift certificate towards stamps.
