New Inspiration Book
The new TAC inspiration book is now out - I am hoping to have mine by Mon or Tuesday of this week. I can't wait to get my hands on this new book. There are over 80 NEW stamp sets, (some of which we have been previewing this weekend), new Paper Lines and TAC + Copic have come up with a new line called Caboodles which I am anxious to see. The new catalog is geared to the rubber stamper card maker. The new catalogs will sell for only $3.95 this year so what a deal.

Spunky Sprite Boy
This isn't one of the NEW stamp sets but I love these spunky sprite kiddos and I thought this was a good one to send to my little Chemo Angel boy. I ran coordinations cs through my cuttlebug with my Impressabilities circles (I still think it looks like bubbles), sanded it and used that for my bg. I used labels 5 nesties to stamp my focal image on, colored with copics and a bit of glitz qith glitter pens. I used crystal effects on the splashes and then I had some jelly plops that I used that I thought looked like water splashes as decorative embellishments.

Jolly Jingle
Do you realize that in 6 months we will be wrapping Christmas presents, setting up the Christmas tree, baking cookies and candy!!! Oh my and it is HOT here in MO. 90's just to think of Christmas is difficult. This little guy will certainly help. Remember about 1 1/2 weeks ago I posted a "reverse image" using nesties, well today I used what I cut from the nesties, so nothing is wasted. This is Reece Paper which surely has a Christmas feel. I colored Santa with my copics, (I think it is a challenge to color with red copics - have to be very careful not to bleed out of the lines). I glitzed his belt and buckle up a bit with my glitter pens and for this fur I used a sparkle fur which adds just a hint of fun. For the saying I used gold button dots on each side. Just a few more days and the NEW inspiration will be available. Fun Fun!!!

JUNE BLOG HOP SNEAK PEEK
Get ready for some fun hopping this evening!!! We are having a sneak peek here at Paper Wings of some of the NEW images that will be in the 2011 Inspiration Book, due to debut in just under a week. I chose to do the Fly Fairy - it is fast becoming one of my favorite new images (although I have more than one favorite). I stamped the fairy on vellum and embossed her in a new embossing powder Medieval Metal which i got at the Stamp Expo in Collinsville, IL. June 12. I love the color. I couldn't find my vellum tape to tape the vellum (which I cut with my nesties) so I used a bit of glue which bled through - so opportunity to use some paper flowers to hide the glue spots. I stamped the background stamp included in the set on the paper flowers and added a bit of bling in the center. For the second image, I embossed a new cuttlebug folder in the center of Juliet paper and then cut out the center with the large label nestie die, then stamped and embossed the fairy in the cut out center. Just a bit of flesh color to her face, brightened up her wings with the stardust pen and a teeny button (from some old Barbie doll clothes) on her coat. A couple of pearls in the corner and the card was complete. So sit back relax and enjoy the blog hop tour:

Simplicity Challenge
The challenge over at Simplicitythis week was to use flourishes and I think this qualifies that description. I hate that this set "Swirles" is retiring this year but it is one that I will keep for a while. I "dual" embossed in silver and gold and I also dual embossed the greeting in silver and gold and I think it turned out really well. I did my Christmas cards in silver/gold embossing and they were a big hit.

Oh Happy Day
This cute little whale is from another new set that will be featured in the NEW TAC catalog coming out on June 25 - it has several cute simple sayings and cute critters and the set is called Oh Happy Day. I colored the whale with copic markers, used nesties to cut him out, then my bg is one of the new impressabilities that I ran through the cuttle bug using color coordination paper then sanded with a sanding block, I thought it looked like bubbles. I colored some "bling" with my copic markers (thanks again Chelsea) and a Friskar punch along the bottom (I thought it looked liked waves). and a cute card is complete.

Slugger
As most of you know I have a little guy that I do cards for as part of Chemo Card Angels. It has been so much fun making little boy cards and from what I hear in updates from his mom he loves getting mail from Angel Shirley!!! I borrowed a Gina K set from my friend Pat . It is so stinkin cute and Pat had made baby shower invitation from this set and happened to have some leftover cut out mitts and punched out baseballs. So I was able to create this card fairly quickly by stamping the baseballs in a line - add the baseball pat, stamped his name with an alphabet from TAC and the words slugger, winner and champ. Star punch in 4 corners and the card was complete. He is a Boston Red Sox fan and well I am a St. Louis Cardinals fan but I don't think it matters.

50th Wedding Anniversary
My friend Shelley had a 50th wedding anniversary party to attend so when my phone rang and it was her I knew what she wanted!!! I said sure come on over, out comes the CS, gold embossing powder, flowers, punches, you name it. We used a stamp from PSX (I don't even know if they are still in business) but the rose is one of the first stamps I bought when I started stamping. Gold embossed, punched out an oval and started decorating with white flowers, sprigs of fern from a MS punch, some bling and then the Anniversary sentiment. The sentiment is from TAC and love the flourish style of these sayings. Shelly was so happy with the finished product so I am anxious to hear from her this week to see how her cousins like the card.

Gift Card Holder
I attended a bridal shower on Sunday - (remember I made the thank you cards) and I needed a gift card holder for a gift card from Target so this goes together so quickly. I thought I would share the directions: CS or DP cut 4 x 7 1/8, score at 2 1/4 and 4 3/4 fold on score lines. Using your circle punch punch 1/2 circle in the middle of the shorter end. Bring the longer end up and secure with red-line tape on both sides. When you put the image/greeting on the front just glue the bottom half and then slip an elastic pony tail holder to match your design to hold together. I decorated mine with some flowers and pearls. Rounded the top corners and easy peasy. I used a retired TAC set from last year called Shower of Love.

Sugar Coated Sweetness
I did this card for a sketch over at Paper Wings. Now as most of you know I am sketch challenged and very seldom do them but...I bit the bullet and tried this one. I loved coloring the cake - this set has so many yummy goodies - coloerd with copics, colored the flowers on top of the cake also with copics, used sugared domes for the center of the flower and it was just enough bling to add a little extra. Cut and layered and cut and layered some more until I got the look "right". Used a MS punch for the scallop edge, some grograin ribbon (wondered what I was going to do with this horrible-awful color, but just couldn't throw it away). Well the ribbon was just perfect - can we spell hoarder??? I didn't put a sentiment as i really didn't know what I was going to use it for but you could use it for an anniversary, birthday, retirement etc.

Masked Challenge
I did 2 cards for Simplicity - her challenge was to mask a bg then stamp your focal image or saying in the mask - or something like that. I played around with 2 which I think might work. The owl - well he is from the current catalog and he is going to be with us another year - YEA and he is from BE Square. I masked and used my color duster to dust a very light shade of blue for him to sit a while. The Christmas Tree is from Jingle Jolly which will be featured in the NEW TAC catalog coming up in just 2 weeks. I had to add some bling and color the star with my sakura jellyroll pen. I used a negative image mask for this.

Mini Blog Hop
3 Angel friends are having a little mini blog hop using the new stamp set which will be featured in the NEW TAC catalog set to come out June 25. We showcased the set Oh No She Didn't, which I think will be a favorite seller. This set allows so much creativity which you will see when you hop on over to see what Chelsea
and Bridgett did with their images. I used TAC paper Kalidascope Brites as it just had a summery hue and nestie starburst to display my little girl. Colored her with Copics, and aren't these glasses just too cute. They were buttons, I cut off the back shank and glued them on, now talk about a little "bling". I can't wait to play some more with the other 2 images.

Happily Grateful
I have been having so much fun making up some sample cards with stamp sets that will be in the new TAC catalog. This set has 8 stamps, the butterfly is just beautiful and love the leafy vine. For this card I used embossed resist and stamped the script as my background and then stamped the leave vine in versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then applied green ink with a sponge dauber which really brought out the leaves. I edged with burnt umber to give a bit of distress look. The best part is the butterfly which I stamped with brown memento ink then colored with copic markers, popped up the butterfly with pop dot foam, colored the crystal bling that my friend Chelsea sent to me. You can color these with copics to match your focal image, how much fun is that!!! Tied with a sheer brown/white polka dot ribbon and mounted on dk brown cardstock.

FORE
This card is for my SILs birthday and what says summer more than golf!!! I am entering this in a challange over at Flourishes in which you had to use blue and yellow in a sunshine and blue skies theme FLLCJUN10. I used a retired set from TAC called FORE, the saying is from savvy sayings, the blue bg is from DCWV "Animal Crackers" and the golf ball was run through a quickcutz embossing folder. Enjoy.

Found Joy
This will be my second post for the day -WOW- I never do that!!! This is for a challenge over at Simplicity
REPETITON - I thought this set might work for this challenge and I had yet to ink it up so this was a good time to see what I could come up with. I think I like it as far as a CAS card goes - but I still think I need to put something else in all that white space.
Give Praise to Him
#1 Sneak Peek for Glittered Paws. For this card I used a new set that will be in the new TAC catalog scheduled to come out on June 25!!! We are able to show some sneak peeks a little early to "entice" our customers. I used Large Labels nestabilities for my frame but I just used it to draw inside the mestie itself with a black micro pen - leaving just a slight space for the p in praise to stock beyond the line. I stamped the phrase and tree using my stamp-a-ma-jig to get pretty fair placement as I didn't want to go over the line. Some green satin ribbon, DP from Hemingway and light green cardstock and another easy card to put together. This would make a nice get well or thinking of you card.

Life So Big
This is one of the new sets available now as part of the Angel Company June Jubilation and is only $3.95 with a $30 dollar purchase. Using my impressabilities flowers panel I held it in place and sponged ink with the Tim Holtz handle and foam sponge ink pad. Doesn't it give a batik look? Then on a separate panel I stamped the beautiful butterfly in matching ink slid a sentiment from Dream Come True, added a little bling and a simple beautiful card is ready to go. I did this up in several colors including blue, honey, and pink.
