August 29, 2018 Sketch Challenge
This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the sketch challenge. This was a fun sketch to work with. I recently had organized - or reorganized my DP and I saw this cute bird DP - so decided to work with it. I used 2614-D, 2616-D, and 2617-D - all Tiny Birds - each sold separate. I colored them with copic markers and punched out a little heart to go on the circle as well. For my sentiment I went with 410-H Simple Pleasures, only using the first line of the sentiment. Then I thought what do birds enjoy, and that would be a nice cool bath in August so I used 4311-I Birdbath embossed and fussy cut out and popped up a bit for dimension.
Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of Sketch Challenge and as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge. You have a full month to enter our challenge to win. You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
If you look on my right side bar I also have a discounted coupon for you to use when you go shopping at Repeat Impressions.

I have seen several "template kits out there for circle wreaths, but I just drew my own circle using a die cut and a light pencil line (which you will latter erase) - finding the center of the card stock first and then positioning the die. You could use any circle or a compass.
Next I started stamping my leaf stamp with my chosen first color - I stamped in multiples of three in each color - fairly evenly spaced for eye appeal. I stamped in threes using all three of my ink colors. Brown, orange and a darker red.
I then embossed additional leaves from Falling Leaves stamp as well as the Acorns using gold embossing powder. I then fussy cut out the leaves and acorns. I embossed my 1 1/4 inch circle with Everyday Blessings as well as embossed Thanksgiving Blessings at the bottom of my base card. I erased the circle line with a soft eraser. Next I layered my circles two of which were cut from glitter paper/card stock.. After the circles are in place I fit in additional leaves from Falling Leaves and the Acorns where there was a bit of a gap or that were eye appealing. I used some tiny pop dots to pop up my acorns.
Here is the final card, with just a bit of neutral twine tied on the card. I am now ready to start seeing some fall colors in the woods behind our house. Give this a try - you can use a variety of stamps you already have from small flowers, twigs, leaves, and yes I even did one with feathers.

August 24, 2018 Friend Cards
I am "back" in my craft room - at least part time - and made a couple of cards for my chemo/senior buddies that I write too weekly. The hardest skill for me to do is use the tape runner. I don't know if it is how I hold it or the movement but it give me a lot of discomfort in my right arm. I have adapted to using my left hand fairly well - and after the last trip to the doctor I find out that my shoulder - yes my new shoulder is not in place!!! I see a specialist next week to try and figure out what the next step is. Anyway got off track there - so back to my cards.
My first card I used Do what you Love from SU - comes as a complete suite but I just got the stamp set and the DP. Creating a pretty card is a snap with this set, so many possibilities and oh the DP is stunning. This is for my "new" chemo buddy that I just got a couple of weeks ago - and I know from her bio that she likes crafts so this was perfect for her.
The second card is for my senior buddy - a gentleman in Canada that I have enjoyed for almost 4 years. I used a set that came with one of the magazine from the UK and available at Barnes and Noble. Saw it and then saw the price but then rationalized I was getting a magazine, stamps and dies so was able to justify. Thought he would enjoy a wave. What a fun card to make.
Both of these cards went out the door yesterday on their way - hopefully tomake someone smile.

August 22, 2018, Anything Goes
This week over at The House that Stamps Built out challenge is one of my favorites - Anything Goes.
I LOVE folds, but I know some of my followers already know that - so I went with a double Z-fold card for this challenge. I used 9303-P Thanks a Latte.
I had some "major" at least major to me surgery the end of May. Total right shoulder replacement so I thought I would be needing a few thank you cards - so this is one of them. I used some DP from my stash (really old DP) but loved how it worked for this card. Cut out the coffee cup and paper pieced the flowers on the cup. This card stands alone for display. A few months ago my friend Patti and I taught a class at her church and this was one of the folds that I taught. The girls loved making this card.
Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of Anything Goes as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge. You have a full month to enter our challenge to win. You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

August 15, 2018 Inspiration Challenge
This week over at The House that Stamps Built our challenge is the inspiraton photo. I have never made a "galaxy" background but I did enjoy making this one as my first. You can use inks, or watercolors, I choose to go with Distress Oxide Inks , It was truly add a little more here, add a little more there. Since this reminded me of a dark woods scene I decided to use this fun stamp 10634-I
Outhouse and the sentiment 10626-F Oh Crap. For my pine trees I used
2709-I large pine forest and 2714-D small pine forest. Since I am not really sure yet what I am going to do with this card - I didn't put a sentiment on the inside. I'm thinking "maybe" for my physical therapist that has put me through some "crappy" workouts for my right shoulder. Hmmm, or maybe a birthday I forgot.
Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of our Photo Inspiration - as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge. August 12, 2018 First day of School
August 15 my oldest great grand daughter Bella will start kindergarten and she is so excited. It just doesn't seem possible that she is 5 already. Well she thinks she is about 15 but.... She loves getting her own mail so I made her a little card which I cased from Pinterest that I loved. I had some digital school bus paper so I printed it out - then I made a clip board out of Kraft and put some line school paper on top with her name. I made the clip to the clipboard using a Stampin Up punch. That punch has come in handy several times. Cut out some bright letters using Stampin Up alphabet dies, then I computer generated the sendiment of Lets get rolling. I wrote her a little note for the inside and die cute some numbers for the inside of the card. Fun card to make.
Now I have to make little brother a card so he will get mail as well. Think I will use some race cars from Taylored Expressions that I got back in June.

August 8, 2018 Tic-Tac-Toe
It is my favorite week of the month for challenges, Tic-Tac-Toe over at
The House that Stamps Built . I choose to do the first line across using one of my favorite stamps 708-K Rebecca and with being a friendship card I choose the sentiment 3903-H Friends like You. First I used an embossing folder frame - and stamped Rebecca in the middle with the sentiment above. I colored her with copic markers - she is so much fun to color. For some dimension I popped up some punched butterflies (my friend loves butterflies) and then for my metallic I used my Nuvo metallic gold drops and made "enamel" dots in the four corners.
Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of Tic Tac Toe as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge. You have a full month to enter our challenge to win. You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.

August 1, 2018 Designer Choice
This week starts August already - where has the summer gone?? Over at
The House that Stamps Built our designer this month is Joy and she has chosen for us to make a card using circles.
I love Teddy Bears and this one is 114-I Sebastian, the sentiment 1113-D
Birthday is a "must" for every stamper.
I had this circle paper in my stash so I grabbed a couple of balloon dies to die cut the balloons, stamping Happy Birthday on the red one. Colored the bear with copic markers, fussy cut him out and popped him up on of the the die cut circles I cut. Balloons have to have strings so they don't fly away so I made some strings out of bakers twine in coordinating colors and put them in his hand. Covered the knot with an enamel dot.
Sweet Carter (great grandson) will be having his 3rd birthday in just a few weeks so this one is earmarked for his birthday.
Now it is your turn to make a card using the challenge of use a circle on your card. as you can see there are a lot of possibilities for this challenge. You have a full month to enter our challenge to win. You do not have to use Repeat Impressions stamps but if you do you will be entered twice for the drawing of a $25 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.
